    Evaluating stress distribution in two different designs of class I partial removable dentures

    In Present study a digital model of hemimaxillectomy was reconstructed by computer and stress distribution of removable partial dentures in tissues, periodontal ligament and bone were thoroughly evaluated. The maximum stress of two different removable partial denture designs which contained buccal and lingual c-shaped clasps respectively were analyzed and compared. It was assumed that a 90 gram force which is equal to an average obturator’s weight is applied outwardly. The results showed that the maximum stress distribution in these two designs is not significantly different

    Reconstructing mandibular anterior region by Branemark and Bonefit joint implants: a case report

      A 48 year old patient was candidate for anterior mandibular reconstruction by 2 fixtures of Branemark implant. Residual infection lead to removal of one of the implants from the extracted tooth socket. Afterwards, 2 fixtures of Bonefit was inserted adjacent to previously placed Branemark implants and final prosthesis were loaded in a joint cemented and screwed design

    The fracture resistance of all-ceramic restorations is one of the major concerns in clinical applications of these materials. Before initiating a time-consuming and costly clinical investigation, an in vitro study can help to estimate the in vivo usability of a new dental material. Mechanical properties of all-ceramic materials are frequently evaluated to predict their clinical performance. Since the test methods have influences on the obtained results and mechanical behavior of ceramic materials, the differences between different methods and techniques should be well recognized.The aim of this review article was to briefly appraise mechanical test methods usually use to evaluate dental ceramic materials, and to discuss their clinical implication and limits in dentistry.     Treatment plan in amelogenesis imperfecta: A structured literature review on treatment protocols and dedicating the best possible options

    "nAmelogenesis imperfecta is an inherited disease that disturbs the formation of the enamel. It occurs as two main categories, hypomineralized and hypoplastic. Both deciduous and permanent teeth are affected, and the disorder may create unaesthetic appearance, dental sensitivity, and severe attrition. In this article through performing a structured literature review, numerous treatment modalities which so far advocated in rehabilitation of amelogenesis imperfecta in adults and children is discussed. The progressive changes on open bite, the problem of bonding during restorative phase of treatment , the rehabilitation difficulties of deciduous as well as permanent teeth is also discussed in detail and finally the interdisciplinary approach for treatment of this disability is demonstrated and some points for decision making in treatment protocols are suggested

    Comparison of Two Techniques for Evaluation of Coronal Leakage Along of a Glass Fiber Post

    Objective: Contradictory results have been reported over microleakage studies of restorative materials and methods. Despite the number of publications on leakage there are few evidences comparing the different microleakage evaluation methods. The purpose of the present study was to compare the clearing technique and longitudinal sectioning in the evaluation of dye penetrationalong a glass fiber post.Materials and Methods: Fifteen single-rooted human teeth were endontically prepared and obturated with gutta percha points and a resin based sealer (AH26). A glass fiber post (Glassix) was cemented into each post space with a dual polymerizing resin cement (Varilink II) and the composite core (Tetric Ceram) was fabricated. Specimens were immersed in Indian ink solution for 72 hours after completion of 1500 cycles of thermal cycling. Then demineralized, cleared andevaluated for the deepest length of dye penetration using a stereomicroscope. Specimens were then cut longitudinally and the length of penetration was measured again by the same instrument.The mean difference of the penetrated length was analyzed by two methods using the paired t test and an analysis of correlation ( = 0.05).Results: No significant difference was found in the mean microleakage measured by the two methods (P= 0.07). Significant correlation was found between them (P=0.0001, r= 0.9)Conclusion: The clearing technique and longitudinal sectioning showed the same results in microleakage of Glassix post and composite core within the limitation of the present study
