Excavations at Cricklepit Street, Exeter 1987-89 (Exeter archive site 81)
A small excavation in Cricklepit Street next to the site of the Watergate at the southern corner of the City Walls revealing early 15th century masonry of the City Wall, the flank wall and causeway revetment (left exposed and included in area landscaping)
Excavations at Exe Street, Exeter 1985-86 (Exeter archive site 83)
1986-1986 rescue excavation at corner of Exe Street and Lower North Street iin advance of building construction. Roman features found include 1st century cremations, 2nd century quarry pits and a small timber building. Medieval ditches and possible street metalling were found in addition to a 14th century pit and 17th century blacksmith's forge
Cathedral Close St Mary Major, Exeter 1971-1976 (Exeter archive site 40)
A series of excavations commenced on 16th June 1971 at St Mary Major and were prompted by the site being threatened after demolition of the parish church with a proposal for the construction of an underground car park
Excavations at Albany Road, Exeter 1984 (Exeter archive site 79)
Exeter Museums Archaeological Field Unit carried out a trial excavation on the site, bounded by Cowick Street, Alphington Street, St Thomas' Station and the railway viaduct, in 1978 in advance of redevelopment revealing bronze casting in the late 16th and early 17th century. Additional excavation work was carried out on the site in 1984, following documentary and cartographic research which highlighted the significance of the site, with the aim of determining the extent of the metal working site and estimate its production volume
