The study involved seven centers located in the most densely populated regions: the Volga region, North-West region, Siberia, the Urals, Central and South regions. Were analyzed 1225 questionnaires. The article presents the statistical results of the survey. Conducted its first large-scale study of the prevalence of erectile dysfunction in Russia.

The purpose of the present research is to study the incidence and severity of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in male population of the Russian Federation and to establish the relationship with the most common diseases. Based on the materials of population survey of 1083 men (mean age - 42,8±14,1 years) held in the Russian Federation in 2011-2012 the relationship between age, weight, height, sexual activity, addictions, co-morbidities and the answers to the questionnaire IPSS with the assessment of quality of life in relation with existing disorders of urination (QoL) was studied in six federal districts. 649 (59.9%) respondents had urinary system disorders (IPSS\u3e0), the mean (±SD) of the sum IPSS questionnaire score was 5,0±7,0. LUTS severity was greater in: older men (τB=0,441; p\u3c0,001); in men who had undergone surgeries of the pelvic organs (τB=0,242; p\u3c0,001); in the presence of coronary artery ischaemic disease (τB=0,242; p\u3c0,001), arterial hypertension (τB=0,255; p\u3c0,001); diabetes mellitus (τB=0,154; p\u3c0,001); obesity (τB=0,148; p\u3c0,001); depression (τB=0,126; p\u3c0,001); and sexual disorders (τB=-0,425; p\u3c0,001). The prevalence of LUTS in men of the Russian Federation is high, their relationship with age and comorbidities require a comprehensive approach to prevention, diagnosis and treatment

With the aim of evaluation of prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) and other violations of the sexual function of men in the Russian Federation, anonymous questionnaire survey of 1400 men was performed. The study involved seven centers located in the most densely populated regions of the country. 1225 questionnaires were analyzed. It was found that ED symptoms were present in 1101 (89.9%) respondents. Age-related symptoms (by AMS questionnaire) were detected in 554 (45.2%) patients, most of whom were aged 45-59 years. The importance of active detection of ED in men, as it can be one of manifestation of a more serious disease, was demonstrated

CLINICAL AND LABORATORY CHARACTERISTICS OF CHRONIC CYSTITIS IN WOMEN OF DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS

The study included 348 women with chronic cystitis who were divided into 3 age groups: Group 1 - 20 to 39 years old; Group 2 - 40 to 59 years old; Group 3 - elderly age (60 years and older). Bacterial flora was detected for the total sample in 35.3 % of patients without significant differences between age groups. The results indicate that infection is not the only cause affecting the development and persistence of chronic inflammation of the bladder. The incidences of leukoplakia of the bladder in age groups 1, 2 and 3 were 71 %, 50 % and 11 %, respectively. The survey results revealed increasing severity of symptoms such as pelvic pain and urination disorders with age. The evaluation of urination diaries revealed a decrease in the bladder effective volume with age and an increase in urination frequency in the daytime and at night. A significant increase in symptoms in the presence of leukoplakia was also revealed. High incidence of squamous metaplasia and leukoplakia and increased frequency of exacerbations of cystitis in young women may be associated with the catatoxic, highly reactive type of response of the transitional epithelium of the bladder. Increasing symptoms such as urinary disorders in older women with chronic cystitis may be caused by an adverse effect of systemic metabolic factors of the disease pathogenesis

© 2016 Macmillan Publishers Limited. An analysis of prevalence and associated common risk factors of ED and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) was performed in Russian Federation by cross-sectional multicenter survey. International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) score and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) were used for data collection in 1225 men between 20 and 77 years interviewed in six regions of Russian Federation. In addition, each participant\u27s social, demographic, lifestyle, sexual and medical history was taken with special emphasis on risk factors for ED. Upon the basis of IIEF erectile domain score interpretation, ED was found in 530 (48.9%) men, consisting of mild and mild to moderate, moderate and severe ED in 375 (34.6%), 78 (7.2%) and 77 (7.1%) respondents, respectively. According to IPSS assessment, LUTSs were present in 649 (59.9%) responders; inclusive 370 (34.2%), 216 (19.9%) and 63 (5.8%) men with mild, moderate and severe LUTS, respectively. Men with both ED and LUTS shared common co-morbidities and lifestyle risk factors with age-adjusted odds ratio between 1.2 and 5.2. In logistic regression model (R 2 =0.361), the strongest associated with ED factor found was IPSS symptom score, followed by hypertension, IPSS-related quality of life, age, diabetes mellitus, obesity and unmotivated fatigue

According to the results of epidemiological studies of prevalence of erectile dysfunction in the Russian Federation, the search for the determinants of risk of its development was performed. It was found that the leading risk factors for the development of erectile dysfunction, in descending order of statistical significance, include the amount of accumulation of points according to the IPSS score, arterial hypertension, L(IPSS) quality of life index, age, diabetes, and overweight and obesity
