    Poznatky z čistenia drevného plynu adsorpčnými náplňovými filtrami v náväznosti na jeho využitie v spaľovacích motoroch

    The article deals with a highly actual theme of wood biomass exploitation for energy purposes, specifically problems of wood gas production and purification systems in relation to the requirements of combustion engines. Wood matter gasification represents one of the ways of alternative exploitation of wood matter in power engineering. The paper deals with filter efficiency and effectiveness evaluation by means of adsorption cartridge filters. The evaluation was carried out on a basis of determination of the ingoing and outgoing change of solid particles concentration in wood gas during a continuous 4 – hours loading. The evaluating criterion was an acceptable value of contaminants in wood gas for its utilization in combustion engines.Článok sa venuje vysoko aktuálnej téme vyuţívania drevnej biomasy pre energetické účely, konkrétne problematike produkcie drevného plynu a systémom jeho čistenia vzhľadom na poţiadavky spaľovacích motorov. Splynovanie drevnej hmoty predstavuje jednu z ciest alternatívneho vyuţívania drevnej hmoty v energetike. Príspevok sa zaoberá hodnotením filtračnej účinnosti a efektívnosti čistenia drevného plynu pomocou adsorpčných náplňových filtrov. Hodnotenie prebiehalo na základe zisťovania zmien vstupnej a výstupnej koncentrácie tuhých častíc obsiahnutých v drevnom plyne počas 4-hodinového zaťaţenia. Hodnotiacim kritériom bol prípustný obsah kontaminantov v drevnom plyne pre jeho pouţitie v spaľovacom motore

    Research of Safety Culture Level in Slovak Engineering Enterprises

    Článok sa zaoberá hodnotením úrovne kultúry bezpečnosti v slovenských strojárskych podnikoch. Na základe zohľadnenia podmienok podnikov v SR bola pre výskum úrovne kultúry bezpečnosti vytvorená špecifi cká metodika výskumu, ktorú je možné použiť pre výrobné aj nevýrobné podniky. Zvolená bola metóda dotazníkového prieskumu. S ohľadom na rozsah výskumu bolo defi novaných 10 determinantov, ktoré tvoria základ hodnotenia prvkov kultúry bezpečnosti. Pri vyhodnotení úrovne jednotlivých 10 determinantov kultúry bezpečnosti bola zisťovaná súvislosť medzi oblasťou pôsobenia podniku, jeho veľkosťou (malý, stredný, veľký) a bodmi pridelenými jednotlivým determinantom. Výsledok výskumu je komplexne vyhodnotený prostredníctvom 3D bodového grafu. V diskusii sú uvedené oblasti s najvyšším a najnižším hodnotením a navrhnuté sú postupy pre zlepšenie daného stavu.The paper deals with the level of safety culture evaluation in Slovak engineering companies. Taking into account the conditions of enterprises in the Slovak Republic, specifi c research methodology has been developed for the research of the safety culture level, which can be used for both productive and non-productive enterprises. The questionnaire survey method was selected. With regard to the scope of research, 10 determinants have been defi ned, which form the basis for the assessment of safety culture elements. In assessing the level of each of the 10 safety culture determinants, the relationship between the area of the enterprise, its size (small, medium, large) and the points assigned to each determinant was defi ned. The research result is comprehensively evaluated using a 3D point graph. Discussions include areas with the highest and lowest scores, and procedures to improve the status are proposed

    Kvapaliny používané pri obrábaní kovov (MWFs - metalworking fl uids) predstavujú vysoké riziko znečistenia životného prostredia a majú aj negatívny vplyv na človeka, ktorý s nimi prichádza do styku. Cieľom článku je upozorniť na problém správnej kvantifikácie vzniknutých aerosólov z hľadiska dodržiavania povolených expozičných limitov a poukazuje aj na rôzne prístupy ich kvantifikácie pre procesné kvapaliny. Problémom pri kvantifikácii je aplikácia vhodnej metódy merania, ktorou by bolo možné stanoviť distribučnú veľkosť častíc aerosólu. Článok prezentuje použitie novej metódy - plameňového ionizačného detektora - FID, ktorú je možné použiť pre kontinuálne stanovenie distribučného zloženia kvapiek a pár procesných kvapalín. Metóda bola vyvinutá na Inštitúte chemického inžinierstva Viedenskej univerzity.Fluids used in metalworking process (MWFs - metalworking fl uids) present high risk of environmental pollution and they have a negative impact on a person who is in contact with them. The aim of the article is to highlight the problem of right quantification of generated aerosols in terms of the permissible exposure limits keeping and hints at different approaches to their quantification for process fluids. The problem of quantifying is the application of a suitable method of measurement, which it would be able to determine the aerosol particle size distribution. The paper presents a new method - utilization of the Flame Ionization Detector - FID, which can be used for continuous determination of drops distribution. The method was developed at the Institute of Chemical Engineering, Vienna University

    The aim of the article is to explain interconnectivity between corporate culture and safety culture, which aim to utilize motivation to prevent work accidents and other unwanted events in an enterprise. The article deals with ways how to improve approaches to Occupational Health & Safety, OH&S, at work place through proper direction of corporate culture. It introduces internal and external determinants of corporate culture, which have a significant effect. The article introduces common features of corporate culture and safety culture as an element of the OH&S management system with emphasis on system effectiveness. The final portion of the article presents the hierarchy of needs model, which may serve as a basis motivating employees to follow safety and health rules at work place

    Social responsibility is seen as an institutional innovation, which leads to a chance of social rules. Social responsibility also stimulates other types of innovation, which could work as feedback to keep or as a strategic change of social responsibility. The strategy for improvement of quality creates opportunities to identify and to learn from those who are farther along the road to exceptionality and have improved quality or their products and services by improving their organization. The initiative to improve quality of products and services by improving the organization has to be based on clearly defined principles that help define key functions that support organization’s activities, required resources and serve as supporting tools to improve quality. For an organization to have long term and continuous success it needs to fulfill expectations of all stakeholders and as part of this we can discuss Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR. This includes behaviour of organizations that goes beyond the prescribed legislative requirements, but includes activities that benefit not only the organization itself, but also its employees and the public

    Differentiated Customer Relationship Management – a tool for increasing enterprise competitiveness

    The paper focuses on Customer Relationship Management (CRM), based on latest national and international studies of the subject. The goal of the paper is to identify how the selected companies that operate in Slovakia understand the concept of CRM and to what degree they actively use it. Thereafter authors compare different approaches to management of company’s relationship with customers. They wanted to focus on a deeper analysis and decided to use in our orientation and evaluative research also a different approach, such as collaboration with international experts. In the paper the authors identify level of use of social CRM in selected companies in Slovakia and based on expert opinions of members of an international group they design an optimal model of CRM

    Among the significant determinants influencing the corporate culture is the degree of riskiness in the operational activities of a company. Firstly and most importantly, business entities must be prepared to respond quickly to the needs of an external as well as the internal environment, to be in close relationship with customers, to use internal business activities, to strive to build the desired way of behaviour and actions of all stakeholders. The paper aims to define possible risks of ethical credibility based on the analysis and research in selected production companies operating in Slovakia and then propose options, measures to eliminate the threats to ethical credibility and thus increase the credibility and reliability of manufacturing companies

    The paper deals with application of soft-skills competence in practice comparing of education and employers requirements. In addition to what a graduate is to know in terms of the knowledge theoretically acquired, the labour market today defines quite clearly the specific requirements in terms of what a graduate should be able to do, provide for, organize, including the demands related to their competences. The purpose of the paper is to assess the ethical credibility of selected subjects in the field of soft skills based on the analysis and conclusions of research conducted in 2018-2019 at the Technical University in Zvolen. The method of questionnaire survey was chosen for the execution of the research. The paper presents the results of the selected area research of soft-skills, which showed the most significant differences – stress resistance. To evaluate the results was used the Mann-Whitney test of significance which is an especially appropriate test for two independent and randomly selected sets of sample observations. At the end of paper are proposed recommendations for improving teaching in accordance with the requirements of practice

    The article focuses on evaluation of human reliability in the human – machine system in the railway industry. Based on a survey of a train dispatcher and of selected activities, we have identified risk factors affecting the dispatcher‘s work and the evaluated risk level of their influence on the reliability and safety of preformed activities. The research took place at the authors‘ work place between 2012-2013. A survey method was used. With its help, authors were able to identify selected work activities of train dispatcher’s risk factors that affect his/her work and the evaluated seriousness of its in-fluence on the reliability and safety of performed activities. Amongst the most important finding fall expressions of un-clear and complicated internal regulations and work processes, a feeling of being overworked, fear for one’s safety at small, insufficiently protected stations

    Application of digitization procedures of production in practice

    The paper addresses application of digitazation of production processes, which is part of organizational digitization, also known as Industry 4.0. It deals with modernization and optimization of production systems by creating models in simulation software via digital engineering. For our analysis, 8 real assembly lines were used, with an average of 15 workplaces, which were integrated into one universal line by means of simulation. The aim of our research was to create a digital twin of the real assambly lien and to analyse effectiveness of the proposed modernization universal assembly line using the generated statistical data
