The Meaning of Slang Language in 22 Jump Street Movie
This research focused on the meaning of slang language used by the characters in 22Jump Street Movie. The research was conducted by using qualitative method. Thedata were collected from the movie script. The objective of the study was to find outthe meaning of the slang language used by the characters in 22 Jump Street Movieand also the reason why the characters used the slang language. The data were takenfrom the movie script which was downloaded from the internet. The data wereanalyzed by using Eric Partridge\u27s theory about slang. The result showed that themeaning used by the characters were contextual meaning, depending on the situationor given context of the scene. The result show that only several slang language thathave literal meaning. The reason of using slang language in this research was toreduce seriousness of the conversation since the movie was a comedy-action genre inwhich the comedy and action must be appeared at the same time
Residual stress redistribution during elastic shake down in welded plates
Residual stresses are a consequence of welding in various structures such as ships and offshore structures. Residual stresses can be relaxed or redistributed according to the load levels during operation. The elastic shakedown phenomenon can be considered as one of the reasons for this change. This paper studies the relaxation/redistribution of weld residual stress during different levels of shakedown in a butt-welded plate chosen according to ship design and welding procedures. Welding was performed on DH36, a ship structural steel. Neutron diffraction was used to measure residual stresses in these plates in the as-welded state and after different levels of shakedown. A mixed hardening model in line with the Chaboche model is determined for both weld and base material. A numerical model is developed to estimate the shakedown limit on butt-welded plate. Further, the redistribution of residual stress in a numerical weld model according to the different levels of shakedown limit is studied. Based on the shakedown limit of the butt-welded plate, a shakedown region is determined, where the structure will undergo elastic shakedown in the presence of an existing residual stress field if the maximum stress on the load section after a few initial cycles is in the shakedown region
CaracterizaciĂłn integral de las propiedades fisicoquĂmicas, tĂ©rmicas, composicionales y sensoriales del aceite de semilla de rosa mosqueta prensado en frĂo
In this study, cold-pressed rosehip seed oil was fully characterized. Acidity and oxidation levels were near the limit values or slightly exceeded them and improvement in the storage conditions was suggested. The oil started to crystallize at -45.25 °C, and melt at -25.56 °C. Linoleic acid (51.1%), β-sitosterol (84.6%), Îł-tocopherol (773.76 µg/g) and rosmarinic acid (31.38 µg/g) were determined as major fatty acid, sterol, tocopherol and phenolic compound, respectively. For the first time, aromatic volatile compounds and sensory descriptive terms were determined for cold-pressed rosehip seed oil. Sixty-seven volatile compounds were detected and L-limonene was found to be a major volatile compound. According to the sensory analysis, timber/kindling and raw vegetable tastes/aromas were found to be relatively dominant. Consequently, it is thought that rosehip seeds can be used as a raw material for edible and nutritionally-rich cold-pressed oil production and/or as source oil for functional food preparations.
Pure hydrogen low-temperature plasma exposure of HOPG and graphene: Graphane formation?
Single- and multilayer graphene and highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) were exposed to a pure hydrogen low-temperature plasma (LTP). Characterizations include various experimental techniques such as photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy. Our photoemission measurement shows that hydrogen LTP exposed HOPG has a diamond-like valence-band structure, which suggests double-sided hydrogenation. With the scanning tunneling microscopy technique, various atomic-scale charge-density patterns were observed, which may be associated with different C-H conformers. Hydrogen-LTP-exposed graphene on SiO₂ has a Raman spectrum in which the D peak to G peak ratio is over 4, associated with hydrogenation on both sides. A very low defect density was observed in the scanning probe microscopy measurements, which enables a reverse transformation to graphene. Hydrogen-LTP-exposed HOPG possesses a high thermal stability, and therefore, this transformation requires annealing at over 1000 °C
Mass distributions for nuclear disintegration from fission to evaporation
By a proper choice of the excitation energy per nucleon we analyze the mass
distributions of the nuclear fragmentation at various excitation energies.
Starting from low energies (between 0.1 and 1 MeV/nucleon) up to higher
energies about 12 MeV/n, we classified the mass yield characteristics for heavy
nuclei (A>200) on the basis of Statistical Multifragmentation Model. The
evaluation of fragment distribution with the excitation energy show that the
present results exhibit the same trend as the experimental ones.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
Challenges of measuring residual stresses in large girth welded pipe spools by neutron diffraction
In this paper, welding induced residual stresses in a welded API 5L X65 girth pipe spools are discussed in as-welded and in local post weld heat treated conditions. Stress measurements were carried out non-destructively using the neutron diffraction technique. For such large-scale components residual stress measurements require significant preparation and planning. First of all, a choice of stress free lattice spacing value, discussed extensively, is of great importance for the evaluation of residual strains and stresses correctly. Besides, the use of a virtual instrument (SSCANSS software) can optimize measurements for distorted or undistorted large components with or without complex details. Moreover, the well-planned “window” cut through the thickness greatly reduced measurement time.
A number of points were measured across the weld, HAZ and the parent material. Measurement results showed that residual stresses in the as-welded condition was lower than the yield strength of the material, and significant relaxation was also observed in the post weld heat treated samples
From Sandbox to Pandemic: Agile Reform of Canadian Drug Regulation
Public health urgency for emerging COVID-19 treatments and vaccines challenges regulators worldwide to ensure safety and efficacy while expediting approval. In Canada, legislative amendments by 2019 Om- nibus Bill C-97 created a new agile licensing framework known as the Advanced Therapeutic Pathway (ATPathway) and modernized the regulation of clinical trials of drugs, vaccines, and medical devices. Bill C-97′s amendments are worthy of attention in Canada and globally, as health product regulation bends to COVID-19. The amendments follow reforms elsewhere to accommodate health product innovation, how- ever, the Canadian ATPathway is broader and more flexible than its counterparts in other jurisdictions. In addition, Bill C-97 informed Canada’s COVID-19 response in important ways, particularly in relation to clinical trials. The measures adopted by the drug regulatory authority, Health Canada (HC) during COVID- 19 may become the new norm in Canadian regulatory practice insofar as they help achieve the amend- ments introduced by Bill C-97. Finally, despite government rhetoric of transparency, the agenda-setting, formulation, and implementation of the amendments have occurred with little opportunity for scrutiny or public engagement
