Arab Learners’ Problems in Learning English Language: A Teacher Perspective
Because of the social and cultural backgrounds of students, teachers, and specialists of English faces a lot of problems while teaching English to Arab students in general, and Iraqi students in particular. There are many reasons for this. The first and the most important reason is that the Arab students have no knowledge of even Basic English although they are taught English in schools. Perhaps the school teachers do not pay proper attention towards the role of  English and its significance in the classroom. Whatever may be the reason for this but the teacher who teaches those students in higher classes suffers the most and faces a lot of problems while teaching them a prescribed book or course in higher classes. On the other hand students look towards their teacher with great hope. They consider the teacher the most competent and think that their teacher would make them learn English very soon Thus a teacher's responsibility towards his students is doubled. As a findings of earlier studies and many English teachers are fade up and disappointed and so leave the assignment in the middle of their contract. But if the teacher has a little patience and is competent and intelligent he would handle the situation easily and achieve his goal. The plans, strategies and methods of teaching English to these students have been discussed in details in the main research paper. Keywords: Arab Learners, Problems, English Language Learning.
The Impact of Utilizing Skype as a Social Tool Network Community on Developing English Major Students' Discourse Competence in the English Language Syllables
The importance of this study comes from the fact that foreign language learners suffer from traditional ways and methods of teaching and learning. They are looking for new ways of teaching and learning specially methods which integrated with technology. What makes this study important is that using one of the most familiar software for learners that is Skype. The researchers intentionally chosen this software to bring motivation into classrooms and to bring easiness for learners to use this integration of technology with to teach and learn English language. The aim behind investigating this study was to explore the effect of using Skype as a Social Tool Network Community and see its effect on Developing English Major Students' Discourse Competence in the English Language syllables. The study adopted an experimental approach to investigate the impact of utilizing Skype as a social tool network community on developing English major students' discourse competence. Skype is an umbrella term which refers to human communication via computer networking. The sample of the study consisted of 70 males and females freshman at Yarmouk University in Jordan, during the second semester of the academic year 2015/2015. It can be implemented in two groups. These two groups were assigned as experimental group (40 students) and control group (30 students).. The experimental group was taught how to write effectively by using the modern technological tools mainly Skype whereas the control group was taught traditionally. The study utilized Skype as a research tool. A pre-writing test was applied for the purpose of examining the students’ levels of both groups. The researchers busily engaged the students of the experimental group in different writing tasks focused on teaching the main features of writing which are mechanics, usage and sentence formation. At the end, pre-writing test was also applied for both groups to check enhancing. The Data collection was done through an exam. The participants’ exchanges in the Skype group and their replies to the examinees were analyzed. The results showed that Skype chat had a positive impact on the English major learners’ discourse competence. Learners who studied Skype chat performed better on the discourse aspects of English post-test than those who did not. Additionally, the finding of study revealed that students acquired writing and speaking skills in Skype chat more efficiently and effectively than in the traditional method. The Effect of Using Authentic Materials on Developing Undergraduate EFL Students' Communicative Competence
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using authentic materials on developing Undergraduate EFL students' communicative competence The sample of the study consisted of forty-five undergraduate students at University of Anbar, during the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018. To achieve this purpose, pre-/post-test that measures the students' communicative competence aspects in English language activities are to be used. The sample was divided into two groups; the control group consisted of 20 students was taught the course content using the regular communicative method through which students received teacher-course from the textbook, while group two, the experimental group consisted of 25 students was taught using authentic materials. After conducting the activities, a post-test was administered. Scores were tabulated and prepared for statistical analysis. The results showed that learners who studied authentic materials performed better on the communicative aspects of English post-test than those who did not. The findings also indicated that authentic materials could be a helpful tool for delivering communicative instruction. Keywords: Communicative Competence, EFL Learners, and Authentic Materials
Preparation and Study the Structural and Optical Properties of CuS nano film
Thin films of CuS were prepared by Successive Ionic Layer And Reaction (SILAR) method from solution of CuCl2 and Na2S at two different molarities (0.03 M and 0.06 M) on glass substrates at room temperature. The structural and optical properties of CuS films were determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-VIS spectrophotometer respectively. The films are polycrystalline, very adherent to the substrate and well crystallized according to the centered cubic structure with preferential orientation along (103) . It was found that the energy gap of CuS varies from 2.4eV to 2.8eV for thickness of 0.55ÎĽm and 0.82ÎĽm respectively (i.e depending on the deposition conditions)
Cytotoxic effect of PEI-coated magnetic nanoparticles on the regulation of cellular focal adhesions and actin stress fibres
The biocompatibility of surface-coated magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) is key to their successful use in biomedical applications. Polyethyleneimine-coated MNPs (MNP-PEIs) provide improved in vitro nucleic acid transfection efficiency and are safer compared to conventional chemicals. Commercial cell toxicity assays are useful for end-point and high-throughput screening, however, they only reports cells that have undergone an extreme toxic response leading to cell death. Cell toxicity is a complex process which can be expressed in many forms, through morphological, metabolic, and epigenetic changes. This study explores the effect of magnetic transfection with MNP-PEIs and an external magnetic field on cell toxicity, by studying particle internalization, changes in cellular morphology, and cell adhesion. We show that MNP-PEIs induce cell stress through a dose-dependent increase in cell adhesion via the overexpression of vinculin and formation of actin stress fibres. While the presence of PEI was the main contributor to increased cell stress, free PEI polyplexes induced higher toxicity compared to PEI bound to MNPs. MNPs without PEI coating however did not adversely affect cells, suggesting a chemical effect instead of a mechanical one. In addition, genes identified as being associated with actin fibre regulation and cell adhesion showed significant increases in expression from MNP-PEI internalization. From these results, we identify anomalous cell behaviour, morphology, and gene expression after interaction with MNP-PEIs, as well as a safe dosage to reduce acute cell toxicity
Measuring the Impact of Liquidity, Profitability and Volume on Financial Performance: An Analytical Study of a Sample of Industrial Companies Listed in the Iraq Stock Exchange
The study aimed to identify the impact of each company's size, profitability and liquidity on the financial performance practices in the Iraqi industrial companies environment. The research sample included the financial reports of 23 companies registered in the Iraq Stock Exchange for the period from 2010 to 2020, and the impact of these variables was measured according to regression using the weighted least squares method. The study concluded that most of the sample companies practice the profit management process, albeit at a low level. Significant effect of company size on the financial performance of the research sample companies. Where the results of the analysis showed the existence of a significant effect with a significant statistical significance represented by a coefficient of determination of 41% for each of the volume, profitability and liquidity in the financial performance, and the analysis of variance proved the validity of this effect. The study recommended that companies should work on developing the economic infrastructure through energy use The unemployed, and working to increase spending in each of the research and development fields in order to join international companies.
