The article presents the results of experimental studies on the use of nanosized iron powder in the third trimester of gestation on the reproduction processes of sows. The studies were carried out in the conditions of the farm. The physiological state of pregnant sows was determined by hematological parameters. It was found that iron NRP contributed to an increase in the number of red blood cells and hemoglobin in the blood of sows, compared with the control 20 days before farrowing, the content of red blood cells in the blood of experimental sows was 6.3% significantly higher compared to the control, and hemoglobin by 3.8 %. For 10 days, before farrowing, respectively, by 6.9 % and 5.2% higher. The indicators that characterize the reproductive ability of sows are: multiplicity, large fertility, the number of piglets in the nest and their average live weight. The use of ultrafine iron powder in the diets of pregnant sows in the third trimester of gestation contributed to the improvement of the overall physiological state, confirmed by the improvement of hematological parameters and had a positive effect on reproductive ability. The weight of the nest in the experimental group of sows on the day of farrowing was 4.1 % higher, the large-fruiting rate was 3.1 %, compared to the control animals

Assessment of the efficiency of therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of cows’ hooves using a modern antiseptic

The search for modern effective means for prevention and treatment of diseases of hooves of farm animals is an urgent and timely issue. The study considers assessment of the incidence and nature of hoof pathologies in highly productive cows in one of the livestock farms of Ryazan region with a production line system and loose housing of animals. The total percentage of lameness in the farm was 17.3%, including acute lameness, when the cow does not lean on a bad limb - 3.6%. After assessing the significance and relevance of the study for this farm, there was an experiment to assess the efficiency of the use of a new antiseptic drug for preventive and therapeutic treatment of hooves based on quaternary ammonium salts, nonionic surface-active materials, copper aldehyde and sulfate. The drug showed high bactericidal activity when studying the total microbial count (51.2% lower than in the control group) and the presence of E. coli bacteria (not detected after exposure). When assessing the presence and nature of the growth of microorganisms on the Endo nutrient medium in the experimental group of animals, the results similar to the comparison drug were noticed

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the usefulness of the mineral composition of diets and the effectiveness of the use of mineral and vitamin supplements in feeding cows of different technological groups. The analysis showed that the amount of calcium and phosphorus in the diets was close to the norm. Extremely high concentrations of elements such as magnesium, potassium and sodium were noted with an obvious lack of chlorine and sulfur. The cation-anion balance was positive: the range of indicators ranged from 14.98 to 23.49 and a tendency to increase this indicator by the end of lactation was revealed. The ratio of calcium and phosphorus, as well as potassium and sodium did not exceed the established norms. For most of the trace elements, the excess of the recommended norms was determined, which can be justified due to the low digestibility of trace elements in the body of cows
