PROBLEMIC TEACHING AS A METHOD OF STUDENT-BACHELORS’ CRITICAL THINKING DEVELOPMENTS WHEN WRITING AN ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

Цель. Статья посвящена проблеме подготовки студентов-бакалавров Донского государственного технического университета в условиях проблемного обучения. Предметом анализа выступает развитие критического мышления студентов в процессе написания аргументированного эссе. Авторы ставят своей целью выявить действенность письменной речи в форме аргументированного эссе как способа активации критического мышления студентов, определить критерии оценивания развития этого навыка.Результаты. Определены типы учебной активности, характеризующие развитие критического мышления студентов в процессе написания аргументированного эссе; предложена тематика данных эссе, нацеленная на выражение индивидуальной точки зрения на обсуждаемую ситуацию; установлен изоморфный характер между написанием аргументированного эссе и основными стадиями проблемного обучения; приведены базовые процедуры и результаты эксперимента, направленного на оценивание динамики развития критического мышления на этапах предварительного и финального тестирования.Область применения результатов. Результаты исследования могут найти последовательное применение в сфере подготовки студентов-бакалавров в технических и гуманитарных вузах.Goal. The article is devoted to the problem of the undergraduate students’ training in the Don State Technical University in the conditions of problem education. The subject of the analysis is the developing the students’ critical thinking in the process of writing an argumentative essay. The authors aim to identify the effectiveness of the written speech in the form of an argumentative essay as a way to activate the students’ critical thinking, to define the criteria for evaluating the development of this skill.Results. The types of educational activity that determine the developing the students’ critical thinking in the process of writing an argumentative essay are determined; the subject of these essays is proposed; the subject is aimed at developing an individual point of view on the situation under discussion; the isomorphic character between writing the argumentative essay and the main stages of problem learning is established; the basic procedures and results of the experiment aimed at assessing the dynamics of critical thinking at the stages of preliminary and final testing are presented.The scope of the results. The results of the investigation could find a consistent application in the training of students in the technical and humanitarian Universities

ON UNIVERSITY CORPORATE CULTURE DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE FRAME OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The problem on the corporate culture development needed to achieve the strategic and social goals in the higher educational institution is considered. The corporate culture development within the frame of the quality management system (QMS) building is one of the optimal solution approaches to the problem. The key element of the effective university operation is the capability to meet instantly the customer requirements. For that, it is necessary to develop Policy, Mission, and Goals in QMS, as well as principles, values, and traditions which are part and parcel of the corporate culture. Both internal and external strategic development plans, and the basic functions of the educational community corporate culture are analyzed. The value system and the construction principles of the corporate culture are considered
