Safety in the workplace was the major concern in a variety of occupations and workplace settings. In nursing, the main concern of research was concerned on patient safety; there was limited researches focused on nurses' safety in work setting. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of implementing occupational hazards and safety nursing guidelines for pediatric nurses in the health care setting. A quasi-experimental research design using one group (pre-test & post-test measures) was used. A convenience sample of 173 pediatric nurses affiliated to Mansoura University children's Hospital (MUCH), Mansoura University, Egypt; and accepted to participate in the study was included. The study illustrated that, 77.9% of nurses suffered from fatigue, 69.5% of nurses had back pain. In addition, significant number of nurses are exposed to MRSA infection (61.7%) and 67.4% are exposed to needle stick injury. Before implementing the nursing guidelines, approximately half of nurses had low level knowledge (46.8%) compared to 15% after implementation of nursing guidelines & the difference was statistically significant. The study concluded that, the hazards associated with nursing profession were higher and critical. In addition, there was an improvement of nurse's knowledge and practice about safety with the implementation of educational guidelines. Therefore, the researchers' recommended developing standard of health care safety clarifying the role of health care institution in dealing with and overcoming the occupational hazards in the health care setting in order to improve nurses' safety and commitment to the health care environment. Background: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantations (HSCTs) is a lifesaving treatment for many pediatric patients, but still there is a shortage in the number of stem cell donors in the Arab world. Improve health science students' knowledge and attitude about donation behaviour will positively help in the increase in the number of stem cell donors. Therefore, the aim of our study was to investigate the effect of implementing an educational module on improving awareness among health science college students regarding hematopoietic stem cells transplantation and donation willingness. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used on a convenience sample of all Saudi students (256) at the faculty of nursing and faculty of applied medical sciences affiliated to Northern Border University, Arar, Saudi Arabia (KSA). The researchers developed a self-administered electronic questionnaire that includes three parts. First: Demographic characteristics of the studied students; Second: Students’ knowledge about hematopoietic stem cells transplantation and willingness for donation; Third: Students’ attitude about hematopoietic stem cells transplantation. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the studied students' total mean score of knowledge level and attitude level regarding stem cell transplantation. Also, highly positive correlation between knowledge and attitude before and after the implantation of the educational module. Conclusion: The implementation of an educational module for the health college students had improved their knowledge and attitude regarding pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and donation willingness with a highly significant positive correlation between their knowledge level and attitude. Recommendations: This study recommended the addition of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation topic to health college students’ curriculum for improving their knowledge

Background: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) can happen at any age; it is more common in young children. Anemia is a nutritional issue that has a major influence on growth, cognition, work performance, and other areas throughout a person's reproductive years and beyond. Aim: The study aimed to investigate the effect of dietary intervention-based short messages service for mothers of children with iron deficiency anemia. Design: A quasi-experimental research design was used in the current study. Setting: The research was carried out in Pediatric Outpatient Clinics at Damanhour University Hospital. Subject: Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample of 100 mothers with their children. Tools: Tool (I): Mothers' interview questionnaire, it was composed of four parts: Part (1): Mothers' personal data, Part (2): Children's' personal data, Part (3): Children's medical history, Part (4): Mothers' knowledge assessment questionnaire regarding iron deficiency anemia, Tool (II): Mothers' reported practices assessment questionnaire regarding iron deficiency anemia, and Tool (III): Iron level was determined by measuring hemoglobin and serum ferritin concentrations. Results: There was a highly statistically significant difference and improvement between the studied mothers regarding total knowledge and reported practices about iron deficiency anemia pre and post-dietary intervention-based short messages service implementation
