Analogs of Martian eolian features in southwestern Egypt
Emphasis was placed on the morphology and patterns of streaks in the Uweinat region, the relationship of topography to streak patterns, and correlation of field and laboratory studies of the desert surface sediments with color and tonal variations seen from orbit. The research objectives were to provide the necessary groundtruth information on terrestrial eolian features in order to properly interpret the orbital data and to use the interpretations as a basis for investigation of Martian eolian features
Generalized Methodology for Array Processor Design of Real-time Systems
Many techniques and design tools have been developed for mapping algorithms to array processors. Linear mapping is usually used for regular algorithms. Large and complex problems are not regular by nature and regularization may cause a computational overhead which prevents the ability to meet real-time deadlines. In this paper, a systematic design methodology for mapping partially-regular as well as regular Dependence Graphs is presented. In this approach the set of all optimal solutions is generated under the given constraints. Due to nature of the problem and the tight timing constraints of real-time systems the set of alternative solutions is limited. An image processing example is discusse
Earth observations and photography experiment: Summary of significant results
Observation and photographic data from the Apollo Soyuz Test Project are analyzed. The discussion is structured according to the fields of investigation including: geology, desert studies, oceanography, hydrology, and meteorology. The data were obtained by: (1) visual observations of selected Earth features, (2) hand-held camera photography to document observations, and (3) stereo mapping photography of areas of significant scientific interest

Evolution of the superposition of displaced number states with the two-atom multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model: interference and entanglement
In this paper we study the evolution of the two two-level atoms interacting
with a single-mode quantized radiation field, namely, two-atom multiphoton
Jaynes-Cummings model when the radiation field and atoms are initially prepared
in the superpostion of displaced number states and excited atomic states,
respectively. For this system we investigate the atomic inversion, Wigner
function, phase distribution and entanglement.Comment: 18 pages, 17 figure
Two-level pipelined systolic array graphics engine
The authors report a VLSI design of an advanced systolic array graphics (SAG) engine built from pipelined functional units which can generate realistic images interactively for high-resolution displays. They introduce a structured frame store system as an environment for the advanced SAG engine and present the principles and architecture of the advanced SAG engine. They introduce pipelined functional units into this SAG engine to meet the performance requirements. This is done by a formal approach where the original systolic array is represented at bit level by a finite, vertex-weighted, edge-weighted, directed graph. Two architectures built from pipelined functional units are described. A prototype containing nine processing elements was fabricated in a 1.6-Âżm CMOS technolog
On the Supersymplectic Homogeneous Superspace Underlying the OSp(1/2) Coherent States
In this work we extend Onofri and Perelomov's coherent states methods to the
recently introduced coherent states. These latter are shown to be
parametrized by points of a supersymplectic supermanifold, namely the
homogeneous superspace , which is clearly identified with a
supercoadjoint orbit of by exhibiting the corresponding equivariant
supermoment map. Moreover, this supermanifold is shown to be a nontrivial
example of Rothstein's supersymplectic supermanifolds. More precisely, we show
that its supersymplectic structure is completely determined in terms of
-invariant (but unrelated) K\"ahler -form and K\"ahler metric on
the unit disc. This result allows us to define the notions of a superK\"ahler
supermanifold and a superK\"ahler superpotential, the geometric structure of
the former being encoded into the latter.Comment: 19 pgs, PlainTeX, Preprint CRM-185
