The Running Coupling from SU(3) Gauge Theory

We present high precision results on the static quark-antiquark-potential on 32^4 and smaller lattices, using the standard Wilson action at BETA = 6.0, 6.2, 6.4, and 6.8 on the Connection Machine CM-2. Within our statistical errors (1%) we did not observe any finite size effects affecting the potential values, on varying the spatial lattice extent from 0.9 fm up to 3.3 fm. We find violations of asymptotic scaling in the bare coupling up to BETA = 6.8. We demonstrate that scaling violations on the string tension can be considerably reduced by introducing effective coupling schemes, which allow for a safer extrapolation of LAMBDA_Lattice to its continuum value. We are also able to see and to quantify the running of the coupling from the interquark force. From this we extract the ratio \sqrt{SIGMA}/LAMBDA_L. Both methods yield consistent values for the LAMBDA-parameter: LAMBDA_MSbar = 0.558(-0.007+0.017)\sqrt{SIGMA} = 246(-3+7) MeV.Comment: (Talk G. A review of heavy-heavy spectroscopy

    Get PDF
Calculations of the heavy-heavy spectrum present a good opportunity for precision tests of QCD using lattice techniques. All methods make use of a non-relativistic expansion of the action and its systematic improvement to remove lattice artefacts. There was convincing demonstration this year that these methods work and that the associated perturbation theory is well-behaved. Comparison to experimental results yields an accurate value for the lattice spacing, a, a key result in the determination of \alpha_{s}, and (for the first time this year) the mass of the b quark (4.7(1) GeV).Comment: talk at Lattice'93, Dallas. 6 pages of latex espcrc2.sty needed and figures on reques

Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Perspicacity Relation between Educators and Students

    Get PDF
Artificial intelligence is a system with the nature of human intelligence that can automatically provide knowledge and information to create intelligent applications to make it easier to solve problems such as problem-solving, speech recognition, and learning. This research was investigated to find out and understand the relationship of intelligence between educators and students in applying artificial intelligence in universities. The method used is a phenomenological type of qualitative method. This research was conducted at Nurul Jadid University (UNUJA), with the subject of research being PAI lecturers and students in semester V. This research phase was carried out by preliminary studies, observation, data collection (interviews), data verification, and drawing conclusions. As for the results of this study, in its application, artificial intelligence in universities has a positive and negative impact on the relationship of intelligence to learning when it is carried out outside conventional learning. The intelligence relationship between educators and students, which includes Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), and Spiritual Quotient (SQ) contained in it, is also a positive thing that coexists and is directed

Two tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloids were extracted from the alkaloid fraction of a methanol extract of the seeds of Calycotome Villosa Subsp. intermedia. Their structures were established as (R)-1-hydroxymethyl-7-8-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro- isoquinoline (1) and (S)-7-hydroxymethyl-2-3-dimethoxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydroisoquinoline chloride (2) by spectroscopic techniques and X-ray diffraction analysis

Suitable single crystals of the title compound, barium dicobalt(II) bis[orthoarsenate(V)], were prepared under hydrothermal conditions. This phase belongs to a series of compounds with general formula AM 2(XO4)2, where A = alkaline earth metal, M = Mg or a divalent first-row transition element, and X = P, As or V. BaCo2(AsO4)2 is isotypic with BaNi2(XO4)2 (X = P, V or As) and is characterized by brucite-like sheets of edge-sharing CoO6 octahedra (3 symmetry) parallel to (001), with one-third of the octahedral positions being vacant. The sheets are capped above and below by AsO4 tetrahedra (3 symmetry) and are interconnected by distorted BaO12 cuboctahedra ( symmetry)

The scalar and tensor glueballs in the valence approximation

We evaluate the infinite volume, continuum limit of 0++0^{++} and 2++2^{++} glueball masses in the valence approximation. We find m0++=1740±71m_{0^{++}} = 1740 \pm 71 ~MeV and m2++=2359±128m_{2^{++}} = 2359 \pm 128 ~MeV, consistent with the interpretation of f0(1710)f_0 ( 1710 ) as the lightest scalar glueball.Comment: (talk presented by A. The Problems of Application of Online Learning in the Affective and Psychomotor Domains During the Covid-19 Pandemic

    Get PDF
The outbreak of the Covid-19 virus has had an impact not only on the decline of the people's economy but also on the education system in Indonesia. As a result, the learning process is shifted to online learning. The application of online learning is inseparable from various problems, not only concerning facilities and infrastructure but also regarding the goals of education itself. The purpose of this study was to determine the problems of the application of online learning, especially in the affective and psychomotor domains. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Sources of data obtained through interviews with research subjects Islamic religious education teachers at Islamic Senior High School Miftahul Ulum Opo-Opo Krejengan, Probolinggo. The results obtained indicate that the problems in the application of online learning in the affective and psychomotor domains concern student learning interests, the value of honesty and a sense of student responsibility, and student discipline. Meanwhile, in the psychomotor realm, the problem found is related to the implementation of teacher practice or assessment of student skill

Abstract: Mitigation of Student Deviant Behavior through Al-Ghazali’s Perspective Spiritual Values in the Disruptive Era. Objectives: This study aims to provide an idea of the importance of internalizing spiritual values as a remedy for students’ deviant behaviour in a disruptive era. Methods: The method used in this research is library research. Sources of data used are libraries or documentaries in the form of books, scientific journals, translated books, and the internet. Findings: The results showed that the internalization of spiritual values from the perspective of Al-Ghazali in overcoming deviant behaviour of students in the disruptive era can be done by four methods including: Uswatun Hasanah (absence), Ta’wid (habituation), Mau’idzah (advice), Qishshah (story), by measuring the values of Aqidah, Syari’at and Morals. Conclusion: in internalizing spiritual values, cooperation between parents, teachers and the environment is needed to support and guide students towards a better direction for the realization of civilizes and disruptive human being. Keywords: spiritual values, deviant behaviour, disruptive era. Abstrak: Mitigasi Student Deviant Behavior melalui Spiritual Values Perspektif Al-Ghazali di Era Disruptif.
