    Islam and Social Integration in the Reflection of the Nusantara Society

    Religion as a living reality of praxis system reflects the power of flexibility, appreciation and accommodation of growing traditions and cultures. Social inte-gration is the social process of a particular member of society regardless of the cultural and religious diversity embraced, they are aware of the obligation to build solidarity based on strong relationships in building the nation. The process of social integration can work well if supported by good social norms and cus-toms. Social norms and customs are the elements governing behavior and de-manding how cultured Muslim societies behave. This research is designed using descriptive approach that aims to create a description or description systemati-cally, factually, and accurately about the facts, properties, and relationships be-tween the phenomena studied. The results of this study indicate that social inte-gration in Islam is often found in people who view Islam as an understanding that can be compatible with the values of local tradition, this concept is known as Cultural Islam. Cultural Islam is a process in which external elements are ac-cepted by local elements or vice versa. Indonesian clerics have managed to inte-grate Islam and keindonesiaan, so that regional traditions with restrictions that are adjusted to Islamic values

    PSHT Logo as Manifestation of Pancasila Ideological Values

    This study aims to analyze and describe meanings on the symbols embodied in the martial arts logo school of Setia Hati Terate Brotherhood (PSHT) and its representation towards the ideological values of Pancasila. The study is based on the Ethnosemiotical approach. This analytical method on the cultural texts connects the understanding of reading the symbolic expressions represented in the PSHT logo. The results conclude that the symbolic entities on PSHT logo imply a concordance on the values between the Peircean semiotic perspectives in the form of the organizational principles confirming the ideological state of Pancasila. The result showed that on the symbol of lotus flower buds, half-bloom and bloom refers to the philosophical meaning of ‘having stability and confidence in social skills, therefore, they don't feel awkward and feeling inferior' it would seem difficult to find the meaning of connotation and denotation and thus requires further clarification from the public who involve in the Organizations of PSHT. Identification of such symbols indicating the active-enterprising which motivate the instillation on the values of Pancasila, uniting , maintain and strengthening the unity of the nation, the moving spirit of the nation in undertaking the national development and solving the arising problems in the life of the nation

    Correlation between Exercise Frequency and Blood Pressure in the Elderly in Bantul, Yogyakarta

    Background: It is a well established knowledge that the risk of high blood pressure (hypertension) increases with age, but getting some exercise can make a big difference. If an individual blood pressure is already high, exercise can help the individual control it. Regular physical activity makes heart stronger. A stronger heart can pump more blood with less effort. If heart can work less to pump, the force on the arteries decreases, lowering your blood pressure. Health experts advise that regular exercise for the elderly offers great benefits, including extending lifespan. This study aimed to estimate the correlation between exercise frequency and blood pressure in the elderly in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study conducted in Bantul, Yogyakarta, on April 2-16, 2016. A sample of 38 elderlies was selected for this study by random sampling. The independent variable was exercise frequency. The dependent variable was blood pressure. The exercise frequency was measured by questionnaire. Blood pressure was measured by sphygmomanometer. The correlation between variables was measured by Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: There was negative correlation between exercise frequency and blood pressure. An elderly who often had exercise tended to have a lower blood pressure. Conclusion: Exercise is negatively correlated by blood pressure in the elderly. Keywords: exercise, blood pressure, elderl

    Seni bela diri pencak silat sebagai metode bertarung secara filosofis mengajarkan pendidikan spiritual dan fisik untuk membantu para peminatnya dalam menghayati nilai-nilai moral yang luhur di dalamnya. Objek material dari penelitian ini adalah pencak silat dan objek formal adalah filsafat seni atau estetika dari pencak silat tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji (1) norma atau perilaku pencak silat, (2) gaya pencak silat, (3) kategori pencak silat dan peralatannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode faktual-historis melalui deskripsi, analisis, dan sintesis. Hasilnya adalah (1) norma pencak silat yang secara konseptual ditemukan dalam sikap kinerja, gerak langkah, serangan, dan pertahanan (belaan), (2) gaya seni bela diri (aliran gaya) yang terdiri dari aspek mental-spiritual, bela diri, seni, dan olahraga, (3) seni dalam seni bela diri dibagi menjadi wiraga, wirama, dan wirasa serta peralatan seni bela diri termasuk penggunaan kostum, senjata khusus, dan pengiring musik tradisional

    Massage Utilization in Reducing Postpartum Muscle Tension

    Background: In the postpartum period, a mother experiences some physical and psychological changes. Some adjustment is needed by a woman to deal with her new role as a mother. The problems that often arise are fatigue after childbirth, tension due to contraction, poor blood circulation, migraine and headache, depression, breast milk dam, nipple blisters, insomnia, and baby blues. Prolonged fatigue may cause a negative effect of depression or postpartum blues. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of massage treatment on postpartum muscle tension. Subjects and Method: This was a randomized control trial conducted in Pleret, Bantul sub-district, Yogyakarta. A sample of 60 postpartum mothers was selected for this study and randomized into two groups. The dependent variable was muscle tension. The independent variable was massage. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. Results: Muscle tension in the control group (86.6%) was higher than the treatment group (53.3%) and it was statistically significant (p< 0.001).     It is a great pleasure to welcome all of you to the beautiful city of Surakarta. Surakarta is a historic city with two great palaces located at the north and south of the city. It is a place for the International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Arts Creation and Studies (IICACS) since 2016. This is the second year of the conference. In this occasion we would like to thank to the many people involved in the planning of the events over the past years, from members of Organizing Committee, to Steering committee, and professional researchers and academic who made efforts to participate in this event. We also would like to offer special thanks to the guest speakers Phakamas Jirajarupat, Ph.D (Thailand) and - Prof. Jose S.     Resilience In Pregnant Mothers with HIV during Post-COVID-19 Pandemic

    ABSTRACT Background: The recent COVID-19 pandemic has had significant psychological and social effects on the population. Pregnant women with HIV are vulnerable group to this disease. One way that pregnant women with HIV can do during a pandemic or post-pandemic is resilience. This study aimed to examine the resilience of pregnant women with HIV after the COVID-19 pandemic. Subjects and Method: This was a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. This study was conducted in Ambon, Maluku in June to August 2021. Two HIV-positive pregnant women were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The dependent variable was HIV. The independent variable was resilience. Data were collected using in-depth interview. Results: Pregnant women with HIV can create resilience within themselves. Resilience was carried out to maintain physical and psychological health. There were four types of resilience: (1) Pregnant women with HIV remained productive after the COVID-19 pandemic; (2) Pregnant women with HIV were able to manage stress; (3) Pregnant women with HIV established good social relationships; and (4) Pregnant women with HIV drew closer to God. Conclusion: Pregnant women with HIV perform resilience in the post-COVID-19 pandemic. Resilience maintains physical and psychological health in the daily life.
