Cosmid Cloning of Five \u3cem\u3eZymomonas trp\u3c/em\u3e Genes by Complementation of \u3cem\u3eEscherichia coli\u3c/em\u3e and \u3cem\u3ePseudomonas putida trp\u3c/em\u3e Mutants
A library of Zymomonas mobilis genomic DNA was constructed in the broad-host-range cosmid pLAFR1. The library was mobilized into a variety of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas putida trp mutants by using the helper plasmid pRK2013. Five Z. mobilis trp genes were identified by the ability to complement the trp mutants. The trpF, trpB, and trpA genes were on one cosmid, while the trpD and trpC genes were on two separate cosmids. The organization of the Z. mobilis trp genes seems to be similar to the organization found in Rhizobium spp., Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, and Pseudomonas acidovorans. The trpF, trpB, and trpA genes appeared to be linked, but they were not closely associated with trpD or trpC genes
Climate in Greco-Roman History
Examination of the rings of giant California sequoias, along with other contemporaneous physical evidence, provides an understanding of certain climatic changes in the classical world and suggests some surprising determinants of Greco-Roman social and political history. Page 19
An lnvestigation of Princapals\u27 Use of Data in Data-Driven Decision-Making and the Impact on Student Achievement
The passage and implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB, 2001) ushered in a new era of educational accountability and school improvement. Schools are held accountable to meet adequate yearly progress that requires educators to closely monitor student performance on high-stake assessments. Further, NCLB significantly increases the pressure on states, districts and schools to collect, analyze and report data. Accountability demands are increasingly forcing school leaders to explore student-level data and to complete more sophisticated analyses. Data-driven decision-making (DDDM) has become an emerging field of practice for school leadership (Streifer, 2002) and a central focus of education policy and practice (Mandinach, Honey, & Light, 2006). Nationwide standards-based control and outcome-based funding have brought DDDM to the top of every principal\u27s agenda (Leithwood, Aitken, & Jantzi, 2001)
Pengaruh Pemberian Bahan Amelioran terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Cabai Merah (Capsicum Annum L.) di Lahan Sulfat Masam
High soil acidity is one of the problems causing low hot pepper yield on Acid Sulphate Soils. Using tolerant variety and application of ameliorant were some efforts to increase hot pepper yield on Acid Sulphate Soils. The objective of this research was to study the effect of ameliorant application on the growth and yield of three hot pepper varieties on Acid Sulphate Soils. This research was conducted on Acid Sulphate Soil at Barambai-Barito Kuala District-South Kalimantan on the dry season of 2004. The experiment was arranged in Split-Plot Design with three replications. The main plots were ameliorant application, i.e. control, liming 2 t.ha-1, liming 2 t.ha-1 + manure 5 t.ha-1, and the sub plots were three hot pepper varieties, i.e. Hot Chili, Jatilaba and Tit Super. The result showed that the yield of hot pepper was affected by ameliorant application, varieties and interaction between ameliorant and varieties. Liming increased yield. Hot Chili tolerated high soil acidity and had the highest yield (11.489.7 kg.ha-1) on 2 t.ha-1 liming
Politik Hukum Penanggulangan Tindak Pidana Perikanan
The study examines the political response to the crime of fisheries law, where criminal offenses prevention fishery does not operate effectively so that the results can only be overcome small fishermen. The research method uses juridical normative and empirical research sites in Lampung Province. The results showed that the politics of law including the formulation of policy or legislation making, policy application and execution or implementation of the legislation and enforcement of criminal law. Legislation on fisheries contained in the Fisheries Act has adequate set of law enforcement against criminal acts fishery, but there are obstacles in the application and execution stages, such as barriers in terms of law enforcement, infrastructure and public awareness
