Effect of Gr Contents on Wear Properties of Al2024/MgO/Al2O3/Gr Hybrid Composites
In the present study, hybrid metal matrix composites, Al2024/10Al2O3, Al2024/10Al2O3/3MgO, Al2024/10Al2O3/6MgO, Al2024/10Al2O3/3MgO/1.5 Gr, Al2024/10Al2O3/3MgO/3Gr, and reinforcement samples (AA 2024) produced with powder metallurgy process. AA 2024 and reinforcement powders were determined mixture rations and separately mixed during 30 minutes in a three-dimensional Turbula mixer. The mixed compositions were pressed at 300 MPa and sintered at 550°C during 1 h. After that, three materials were extruded at the same temperature. Experimental results show that hybrid metal matrix composites (HMMCs) a better wear resistance than the reinforcement samples because of higher hardness. Gr behave as a lubricant during wear process. The wear resistance of HMMCs can be optimized with controlling of the reinforcement content and type. © 2018 The Authors
Effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculation on the quality and in vitro gas production of einkorn wheat straw
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) inoculation on the quality of einkorn wheat straw (EWS) and in vitro gas production (GP). It was found that AM inoculation of EW seed before sowing caused significant increases in crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and iron (Fe) levels of straw, and a (P <0.05) decrease in crude ash (CA), metabolizable energy (ME), and organic matter digestibility (OMD) compared with the straw of non-inoculated EW. The observed difference in the average GP among the between EWS from plants grown from inoculated seed and those from the untreated control was significant at all times between the third and 96th hour. However, when the GP kinetics of the groups was examined after 96 hours’ incubation, only the difference in the gas amount of the easily soluble fractions of feeds was significant. The GP from the slowly fermented part, the GP rate constant and the potential GP of the straws were not affected by the AM inoculation (P >0.05). Thus, inoculation of einkorn wheat with AM altered the nutritional value of the straw produced creating a roughage with decreased value for feeding ruminant livestock.

Arbuscular mycorrhizae inoculation of einkorn wheat affects fatty acid, nutrient and mineral concentrations
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of arbuscular mycorrhizae (AM) inoculation, which was administered to increase the quality of einkorn wheat in its fatty acid composition, quality and mineral concentration. Wheat grown from AM inoculated seed (AM+) had increased the dry matter (DM), iron (Fe), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), especially oleic acid, and alpha-linolenic acid, and cis-5,-8,-11,-14, and cis-17 eicosapentaenoic acid from polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) (P <0.05), but decreased crude ash (CA), potassium (K), and total saturated fatty acids (UFA), especially myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and monounsaturated fatty acids, especially cis-palmitoleic acid, cis-10-heptadecenoic acid, cis-11 eicosenoic acid, erucic acid, and linoleic acid (P <0.05) compared with einkorn wheat grown from non-inoculated seed (AM-). Crude protein (CP) content ranged from 10.56% to 10.68%, and ether extract (EE) content varied between 2.03% and 2.41%, neither of which was significantly different between treatments. Significant increases were observed in UFA, and in the ratios of UFA to SFA and PUFA to SFA in AM+ compared with AM-.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ COGNITIVE FLEXIBILITY IS PREDICTED BY SELF-EFFICACY AND ACHIEVEMENT
In this research, the prediction cognitive flexibility obtained by general self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy, social self-efficacy, emotional self-efficacy and achievement is examined. This study is executed in 2014- 2015 academic year on 760 high school students who are between ages 15 and 18. Cognitive flexibility Scale is developed by Bilgin (2009b) is used for defining cognitive flexibility, Self-Efficacy Scale is developed by Çelikkaleli, Gündoğdu ve Kıran-Esen (2006) is used for defining self-efficacy. Achievement information are determined from TEOG’s input points of students. Data are tested by regression analysis. The results of research shows the facts that cognitive flexibility is predicted meaningfully in positive direction by five of the variables “achievement, general self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy, social self-efficacy and emotional self-efficacy”. In the multiple regression analysis, it is found that five variables all together explain 34% of cognitive flexibility. Also, it is found in stepwise regression analysis that cognitive flexibility is predicted meaningfully by their two variables. Article visualizations

Determining the origin of synchronous multifocal bladder cancer by exome sequencing
Background: Synchronous multifocal tumours are commonly observed in urothelial carcinomas of the bladder. The origin of these physically independent tumours has been proposed to occur by either intraluminal migration (clonal) or spontaneous transformation of multiple cells by carcinogens (field effect). It is unclear which model is correct, with several studies supporting both hypotheses. A potential cause of this uncertainty may be the small number of genetic mutations previously used to quantify the relationship between these tumours. Methods: To better understand the genetic lineage of these tumours we conducted exome sequencing of synchronous multifocal pTa urothelial bladder cancers at a high depth, using multiple samples from three patients. Results: Phylogenetic analysis of high confidence single nucleotide variants (SNV) demonstrated that the sequenced multifocal bladder cancers arose from a clonal origin in all three patients (bootstrap value 100 %). Interestingly, in two patients the most common type of tumour-associated SNVs were cytosine mutations of TpC*dinucleotides (Fisher's exact test p < 10-41), likely caused by APOBEC-mediated deamination. Incorporating these results into our clonal model, we found that TpC*type mutations occurred 2-5× more often among SNVs on the ancestral branches than in the more recent private branches (p < 10-4) suggesting that TpC*mutations largely occurred early in the development of the tumour. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that synchronous multifocal bladder cancers frequently arise from a clonal origin. Our data also suggests that APOBEC-mediated mutations occur early in the development of the tumour and may be a driver of tumourigenesis in non-muscle invasive urothelial bladder cancer. © 2015 Acar et al
Experience Filter: Using Past Experiences on Unseen Tasks or Environments
One of the bottlenecks of training autonomous vehicle (AV) agents is the
variability of training environments. Since learning optimal policies for
unseen environments is often very costly and requires substantial data
collection, it becomes computationally intractable to train the agent on every
possible environment or task the AV may encounter. This paper introduces a
zero-shot filtering approach to interpolate learned policies of past
experiences to generalize to unseen ones. We use an experience kernel to
correlate environments. These correlations are then exploited to produce
policies for new tasks or environments from learned policies. We demonstrate
our methods on an autonomous vehicle driving through T-intersections with
different characteristics, where its behavior is modeled as a partially
observable Markov decision process (POMDP). We first construct compact
representations of learned policies for POMDPs with unknown transition
functions given a dataset of sequential actions and observations. Then, we
filter parameterized policies of previously visited environments to generate
policies to new, unseen environments. We demonstrate our approaches on both an
actual AV and a high-fidelity simulator. Results indicate that our experience
filter offers a fast, low-effort, and near-optimal solution to create policies
for tasks or environments never seen before. Furthermore, the generated new
policies outperform the policy learned using the entire data collected from
past environments, suggesting that the correlation among different environments
can be exploited and irrelevant ones can be filtered out.Comment: Accepted at IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV) 202
Plasma Pyruvate Kinase M2 as a marker of vascular inflammation in Giant Cell Arteritis
OBJECTIVES: Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) is a large vessel vasculitis in which metabolically active immune cells play an important role. GCA diagnosis is based on CRP/ESR and temporal artery biopsies (TABs), in combination with [18F]FDG-PET/CT relying on enhanced glucose uptake by glycolytic macrophages. Here, we studied circulating Pyruvate Kinase M2 (PKM2), a glycolytic enzyme, as a possible systemic marker of vessel wall inflammation in GCA. METHODS: Immunohistochemical detection of PKM2 was performed on inflamed (n = 12) and non-inflamed (n = 4) TABs from GCA patients and non-GCA (n = 9) patients. Dimeric PKM2 levels were assessed in plasma of GCA patients (n = 44), age-matched healthy controls (HC, n = 41), metastatic melanoma patients (n = 7) and infection controls (n = 11). CRP, ESR and macrophage markers calprotectin and YKL-40 were correlated with plasma PKM2 levels. To detect the cellular source of plasma PKM2 in tissue, double immunofluorescence staining was performed on inflamed GCA TABs. [18F]FDG-PET scans of 23 GCA patients were analyzed and maximum standard uptake values (SUVmax) and target to background ratios (TBR) were calculated. RESULTS: PKM2 is abundantly expressed in TABs of GCA patients. Dimeric PKM2 plasma levels were elevated in GCA and correlated with CRP, ESR, calprotectin, and YKL-40 levels. Elevated plasma PKM2 levels were downmodulated by GC-treatment. PKM2 was detected in both macrophages and T cells at the site of vascular inflammation. Circulating PKM2 levels correlated with average TBR PET scores. CONCLUSION: Elevated plasma PKM2 levels reflect active vessel inflammation in GCA and may assist in disease diagnosis and in disease monitoring
