Ecological State of Water and Soil of Natural-Anthropogenic Landscapes in the Oil-Producing Regions

The article studies the geological state of natural-and-anthropogenic landscape complexes in oil extraction regions of the Republic of Tatarstan and describes landscape characteristics on the basis of current ecological condition of natural surface and underground waters and soil. The degree of natural functioning of geological systems transformed due to oil extraction is pointed out on the example of internal landscape forming factors. DOI: 10.5901/mjss.2014.v5n18p36

Семиотика праздника «Сан-Фермин»

The article proposes a kind of semiotic analysis describing tradition to celebrate Spanish national holyday of “San Fermin” and treats the cultural code of the holiday ciphered in its symbols and specifics of cultural and civilization system: holyday is understood as lifting taboos, or as a rest and relaxation, or as a sacred event. Involving three main semiotic symbolic functions - syntactics, semantics and pragmatics helps reveal the nature of a holyday as of a special cultural text.В статье предложен семиотический анализ традиции празднования национального испанского праздника «Сан-Фермин» и рассматривается культурный код данного праздника с точки зрения его символов и специфики культурно-цивилизационной системы: праздник рассматривается как снятие запретов, либо как отдых, либо как сакральное явление. Protein Tyrosine Kinase Panel As a Tool for Anticancer Drug Design

The discovery of the pharmaceutical potential of small molecule inhibitors of oncogenic protein tyrosine kinases is one of the directions in target therapy in oncology. Presently, investigations aiming at developing new therapeutically important inhibitors have to be based on a combination of computational and experimental approaches including biochitalicical, cell-based or in silico screening and the study of the three-dimensional structure of the kinase active center, in complex with an inhibitor, using crystallography and X-ray analysis or molecular modeling. This work is an example of a combination of inhibitor experimental search with the computational analysis of the potential mechanism of the inhibitors' action, which allowed to propose the 2-hydroxyphenol group as a scaffold for the design of new tyrosine kinase inhibitors

Atomic structure at 2.5 Å resolution of uridine phosphorylase from E. coli as refined in the monoclinic crystal lattice

AbstractUridine phosphorylase from E. coli (Upase) has been crystallized using vapor diffusion technique in a new monoclinic crystal form. The structure was determined by the molecular replacement method at 2.5 Å resolution. The coordinates of the trigonal crystal form were used as a starting model and the refinement by the program XPLOR led to the R-factor of 18.6%. The amino acid fold of the protein was found to be the same as that in the trigonal crystals. The positions of flexible regions were refined. The conclusion about the involvement in the active site is in good agreement with the results of the biochemical experiments

Acute complicated anaerobic paraproctitis: a case from practice

Anaerobic paraproctitis is a life-threatening disease, accompanied by a high mortality rate, requiring absolutely innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The development of acute paraproctitis is brought about by a number of predisposing factors: weakening of the immune system due to concurrent acute or chronical infection, microcirculation disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, complications of hemorrhoids, fissures, cryptitis. Not infrequently acute paraproctitis is complicated by Fournier’s gangrene. Objectives. To describe the clinical case of acute anaerobic non-clostridial paraproctitis. Material and methods. The paper presents a patient with suspected anaerobic non-clostridial paraproctitis. Results. We managed to control the process. The patient was discharged in a satisfactory condition for the outpatient treatment. Conclusions. As a result of complex treatment of the patient with symptoms of acute anaerobic non-clostridial paraproctitis, including a wide dissection of purulent streaks and antibiotic therapy, it was possible to stop the given disease

ВЫРАЩИВАНИЕ ЭХИНАЦЕИ ПУРПУРНОЙ (ECHINACEA PURPUREA L.) ДЛЯ ПОЛУЧЕНИЯ РАЗНЫХ ВИДОВ ЛЕКАРСТВЕННОГО РАСТИТЕЛЬНОГО СЫРЬЯ

The technology that is elaborated is to grow purple cone-flower (Echinacea Purpurea L.) producing appropriate roots and rhizomes that can be used to obtain at the same time the additional output in the substance of juice from both the foliage and dry plants. Optimal results on yield and quality of additional output were achieved when the plants were rejuvenated at the stage of budding.При разработке технологии выращивания эхинацеи пурпурной на корни и корневища определена возможность одновременного получения дополнительной продукции в виде сока из листьев и сухой травы. Оптимальные результаты по урожайности и качеству дополнительной продукции достигнуты при «омоложении» растений в фазе бутонизации
