Real-virtual platforms for organizing events on environmental education of students of technical universities

    No full text
The problem of environmental conservation is currently one of the most acute for the entire world community, and therefore one of the strategic directions for the development of modern higher technical education in Russia is to increase the level of environmental education of university students. The article discusses the ways of organizing educational work in technical universities using real-virtual platforms, provides a theoretical justification for the need to improve the effectiveness of methods of environmental education of university students, and identifies the specifics of organizing discussion clubs using real-virtual platforms. The paper presents the results of an empirical study of students ' participation in an experiment, during which they discussed environmental problems on the site of a real-virtual discussion club. The results of the study prove the high efficiency of conducting environmental educational activities on real-virtual sites

Lipid and lipoprotein disturbances in coronary atherosclerosis: comparison with general populaD tion data

The article is devoted to the diagnostics of lipid and lipoprotein disturbances in coronary atherosclerosis among Novosibirsk City males, comparing to general population. The study included 392 males aged 35-70 years. The main group consisted of 87 patients with coronary atherosclerosis, verified at coronaroangiography. The control group was a representative population sample of 305 males. Lipid and lipoprotein profiles, baseline levels of lipid peroxidation products in low-density lipoproteins (LDL), their oxidative resistance, alpha-tocopherol and retinol levels in blood and LDL, were measured. All comparisons were performed after age adjusting. Males with coronary atherosclerosis, compared to control group, demonstrated potentially atherogenic lipid and lipoprotein profile disturbances (p<0.01): significantly increased levels of total cholesterol (CH), LDL CH (+19%), triglycerides (TG) (+86%); decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) CH level (-41%); substantially reduced LDL oxidative resistance (-33%; p<0.001), especially for initial LDL oxidation stages (-37%), and decreased LDL levels of alpha-tocopherol and retinol (-40% and -20%, respectively; p<0.01). The results obtained demonstrate that in coronary atherosclerosis, dominant lipid and lipoprotein disturbances include not only increased CH and LDL CH levels, but also increased TG concentration, decreased HDL CH level, and interrelated low LDL oxidative resistance and lipid-soluble antioxidant LDL concentrations. The latter is an evidence of increased atherogenic oxidative LDL modification in vascular wall

Blood lipid (total cholesterol (CH), triglycerides, low and high-density lipoprotein CH (LDL-CH, HDL-CH), lipoprotein (a)) and non-lipid (high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), homocysteine, interleukins (IL) beta, 6, and 8, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), metalloproteinase (MP) 3 and 9) were measured in 96 Novosibirsk men, aged 42–70 years, with angiography-confirmed coronary atherosclerosis and Functional Class II-IV stable effort angina, but without acute coronary syndrome. More than 70% of the patients demonstrated an increase in blood levels of total CH, LDL-CH, hsCRP, homocysteine, IL-6, IL-8, and especially MP-9 (elevated in 100% of the men examined)
