Improving Students\u27 Reading Comprehension on Narrative Text by Using Story Map Technique
: This thesis is a study on improving students\u27 reading comprehension in narrative text by using Story Map Technique to the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak in academic year 2014/2015. The writer took a classroom action research and the teaching learning process took place in two cycles. The subjects of this research were the students of grade X IPA 3 which consist of 39 students. From the observation checklist and field notes, it was found that all the students participated to the activity and did their task well. The students gave positive response to all the explanation and could use the story map technique effectively. For these results, it was concluded that story map technique improved students\u27 reading comprehension skill in narrative text in their Story Map Technique enabled the students to store information in their personal schema more efficiently and facilitated to recall the story elements more completely and accurately
Ergonomics Evaluation of Manual Material Handling Activities in the Section of Feeding Laying Hens at Poultry Farm
This study aimed to evaluate the activity of feeding laying hens at poultry farm.
Observations were made of all workers in charge of providing animal feed totaling 13 workers.
The work observed was the process of loading animal feed on baskets until the final distribution.
The evaluation was based on the results of the Nordic Body Map questionnaire, physiological
workload measurements, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) lifting
calculations. The worker's physiological workload was taken into account, and it revealed that
there has been an increase in work pulse rate obtained Cardiovascular Load (%CVL) is in the
range of 58% -72% and the energy consumption of workers ranges from 4.10-6.59 Kcal/minute.
Thus, physiologically the work activities carried out by the feeding workers are categorized as
moderate work, and it is necessary to improve the work activities. Meanwhile, evaluation using
the Recommended Weight Limit (RWL) and Lifting Index (LI) in the process of animal feed
showed RWL values ranged from 8.61 kg-10.19 kg, and LI values ranged from 1.87 to 2.50.
This number is beyond the limit for manual lifting
Menghitung Efektifitas Mesin Laser Cutting Menggunakan Metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness
PT.
Analysis of Lead Level in Hair and Hypertension of Worker in Bukit Asam Dock Unit Kertapati
Background: Bukit Asam Dermaga Unit Kertapati conducts the process of dismantling coal from the train to barge. Then from a coal barge that is distributed for use as a power plant. Lead in coal into the body can cause hypertension because it directly affects the circulatory system, so this study aims to analyze the presence of lead content in coal that accumulates in the hair of workers of Bukit Asam Dock Unit Kertapati, which is associated with hypertension disease. Methods: This research was conducted at Bukit Asam Dermaga Unit Kertapati used a cross sectional design with a sample of 38 people with multivariate analysis, where the completion of hair sample data was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric (AAS) method and questionnaires distributed to respondents. Results: The statistical analysis showed that every 1 year increase in the risk of increased 1,15 times for hypertension, BMI over weight category risk 5,87 times to suffer from hypertension compared to normal BMI. Coffee drinking habits at risk 1.4 times for hypertension, each 1-year increase in the risk of increased 1 time for hypertension. Conclusion: The lead level in hair with hypertension, each increase of 1 unit of lead hypertension risk level decreased by 0.975 with confounding factor. The need for mask use of workers around the coal production area in order that can reduce lead exposure
