    The area of technical textile applications is very wide, with one of the most important being medical textiles. Polymer-iodine complexes (i.e. iodophors) are widely used in antiseptic products. Nanofibres with iodine may be used to disinfect skin in medicine, and iodine is also characterised by a fungicidal effect. The aim of this research was to form an electrospun PVA mat from nanofibres with iodine and establish the influence of iodine dissolved in ethanol on the structure of electrospun mats. The results showed that it is possible to form a PVA nonwoven mat with an iodine element inserted by the electrospinning process, which has an influence on the structure of the electrospun nonwoven mat.Zwi膮zki kompleksowe polimer-jod (jodofory) s膮 szeroko stosowane jako 艣rodki antyseptyczne.     This paper describes the formation of bicomponent nanofibres from poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and modified cationic starch (CS) mixed solutions (PVA/CS mass ratio 3/1) with different total concentrations of solids in water (8, 10 and 12 wt.%) via the electrospinning technique using two types of rotating electrodes (a plain cylindrical electrode and an electrode with tines). The best results were obtained using a PVA/CS solution with a solid concentration of 8 wt.%. The viscosity of 12 wt.% spinning solution was significantly higher compared to that with a concentration of 8 wt.%. These differences in viscosity had a significant influence on the process of electrospinning, as thinner nanofibres were produced from the less viscous solution. In comparison with the cylindrical electrode, the electrode with tines showed a better performance, where the diameter distribution of nanofibres and the electrospinning process were improved. The purpose of the second part of the experiment was to investigate the influence of different amounts of ethanol in the 8 wt.% PVA/CS solution on the electrospinning process and the properties of nanofibres. The results showed that 3 wt.% of ethanol in the spinning solution influenced the diameter of nanofibres in comparison with 9 wt.% of ethanol (the diameter of nanofibres significantly increased in this case).Artyku艂 przedstawia formowanie w艂贸kien przy zastosowaniu dw贸ch rodzaj贸w elektrod - cylindrycznej i 偶艂obkowanej. Najlepsze wyniki uzyskano przy prz臋dzeniu w艂贸kien z roztworu 8 wt.%. R贸偶nice w lepko艣ci spowodowane st臋偶eniem odgrywaj膮 znaczn膮 rol臋 przy produkcji nanow艂贸kien, przy czym cie艅sze naow艂贸kna otrzymywane s膮 z roztwor贸w o mniejszej lepko艣ci. Stwierdzono, 偶e proces przebiega lepiej i uzyskuje si臋 korzystniejszy rozk艂ad 艣rednic przy zastosowaniu elektrody 偶艂obkowanej. Druga cz臋艣膰 bada艅 polega艂a na ocenie wp艂ywu zawarto艣ci etanolu na przebieg procesu i w艂a艣ciwo艣ci uzyskiwanych w艂贸kien. Stwierdzono znaczny wzrost 艣rednicy nanow艂贸kien przy stosowaniu 9 wt% zawarto艣ci etanolu w roztworze prz臋dzalniczym w stosunku do roztworu 3 wt.%

    Solubilities of MgO in H2SO4 solutions were measured and X鈥恟ay analyses of over 100 neat cement samples were used to construct an isothermal phase diagram for the system MgO鈥怘2SO4鈥怘2O at 23掳卤3掳C. The phases MgO, Mg(OH)2, 3Mg(OH)2 MgSO4路8H2O (3路1路8), MgSO4路7H2O, MgSO4路6H2O, and MgSO4路H2O were stable at 23掳C. The phases Mg(OH)2路 MgSO4路5H2O (1路1路5) and MgSO4路4H2O were observed but are considered to be metastable, resulting from overheating during reaction. Invariant liquids were located at 8.2卤0.2 MgO, 17.4卤0.5 wt% H2SO4 in equilibrium with Mg(OH)2 and 3路1路8; at 8.6卤0.2 MgO, 21.2卤0.5 wt% H2SO4 in equilibrium with 318 and MgSO4路7H2O; at 6.9卤0.2 MgO, 42.4卤1.0 wt% H2SO4 in equilibrium with MgSO4路7H2O and MgSO4路6H2O; and at 6.0卤0.5 MgO, 48卤2 wt% H2SO4 in equilibrium with MgSO4路6H2O and MgSO4路H2O. The diagram indicates that cements containing \u3e50 wt% 3路1路8 cannot be made from MgO and MgSO4 solutions at 23掳C. Steam curing, however, offers some possibilities for increasing binder鈥恜hase content. Mg(OH)2 formed in the system provides X鈥恟ay patterns which indicate an exaggerated sheet morphology.
