    Enhancing the Unified Streaming and Non-streaming Model with Contrastive Learning

    The unified streaming and non-streaming speech recognition model has achieved great success due to its comprehensive capabilities. In this paper, we propose to improve the accuracy of the unified model by bridging the inherent representation gap between the streaming and non-streaming modes with a contrastive objective. Specifically, the top-layer hidden representation at the same frame of the streaming and non-streaming modes are regarded as a positive pair, encouraging the representation of the streaming mode close to its non-streaming counterpart. The multiple negative samples are randomly selected from the rest frames of the same sample under the non-streaming mode. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves consistent improvements toward the unified model in both streaming and non-streaming modes. Our method achieves CER of 4.66% in the streaming mode and CER of 4.31% in the non-streaming mode, which sets a new state-of-the-art on the AISHELL-1 benchmark.Comment: Accepted by INTERSPEECH 202

    Hydrological dam are widely used to generate electricity. At present, hydrological power is deemed be clean energy, because it does not have greenhouse gas emission. However, many reports and researches show that hydrological dam has negative impacts on water and creatures. This paper discusses the negative impacts of Three Gorges Dam and La Grande Complex for changes of mercury level. The Three Gorges Hydrological Dam is the largest hydrological dam in the world that located at Yangzi River in China, but after building the dam, the mercury level is increasing rapidly; the number of fishes that live in the Yangtze River is decreasing and the water quality is also decreasing. Similarly, in Canada, the La Grande Hydroelectric Complex also has the same negative impacts as the Three Gorges Hydrological Dam

    An ankle rehabilitation robot based on 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism

    This article presents the design modeling of a novel 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism for ankle rehabilitation applications. The kinematics of the 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism is established. The degree of freedom of 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism is calculated using screw theory. The inverse kinematics of 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism is solved. Eight groups of inverse solutions of 3-RRS spherical parallel mechanism are obtained. A method for forward position analysis is developed with variation and iteration approaches, which is suitable for motor position control. The ankle rehabilitation robot can be widely used in clinical treatment and can also be used at home, hotels, and fitness centers for ankle muscle relaxation.</p

    Optimized design for micro Wankel compressor used in space-borne vapor compression heat pump

    For aerospace applications, vapor compression heat pump can be used as thermal control system to collect the heat from electronic devices and transport heat to radiator by which heat can be rejected to space. Heat pumps can be used in two cases. The first consists of raising the temperature of heat energy so that the amount of radiator surface required is reduced. The second involves situations where heat cannot be directly rejected by radiators, because the heat sink temperature is higher than that of the heat source. However, the key problem is to make a small and lightweight refrigeration compressor. In order to meet the need for aerospace applications, an innovative miniature hermetic Wankel compressor was proposed and designed in this paper. We fabricated the components such as shell, cylinder, rotor, piston gear, stationary gear, rotor and stator of motor. A compressor prototype was manufactured by integrating these components. The experimental system was built to test the performances of compressor prototype. The effects of condensing temperature, compressor rotation speed and refrigerant charge on the compressor performance were obtained. The influences of tilt angle on the performances of compressor were also investigated. The results indicated that the prototype have good performance, reliability and micro-gravity adaptability

    Experimental investigation of the isothermal section at 400 °C of the MgCeSr ternary system

    AbstractThe objective of this study is to determine the isothermal section at 400 °C of the MgCeSr system. In this study, the constitution of the CeSr system and the MgCeSr system have been investigated over the entire composition range using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). No any new binary compound has been found in the CeSr system and no ternary compound has been found in the MgCeSr system also. Nine three-phase regions have been experimentally observed. Six binary phases Mg2Sr, Mg23Sr6, Mg38Sr9, Mg17Sr2, Mg12Ce, Mg41Ce5 are detected dissolving about 3–7 at.% the third element. This study first detected the experimental data of the CeSr binary system and determined the isothermal section at 400 °C of the MgCeSr ternary system

    Isolation and Characterization of a Novel Salmonella Phage vB_SalP_TR2

    Salmonella is a widely distributed foodborne pathogen. The use of Salmonella phages as biocontrol agents has recently gained significant interest. Because the Salmonella genus has high diversity, efforts are necessary to identify lytic Salmonella phages focusing on different serovars. Here, five Salmonella phages were isolated from soil samples, and vB_SalP_TR2 was selected as a novel phage with high lytic potential against the host Salmonella serovar Albany, as well as other tested serovars, including Corvallis, Newport, Kottbus, and Istanbul. Morphological analyses demonstrated that phage vB_SalP_TR2 belongs to the Podoviridae family, with an icosahedral head (62 ± 0.5 nm in diameter and 60 ± 1 nm in length) and a short tail (35 ± 1 nm in length). The latent period and burst size of phage vB_SalP_TR2 was 15 min and 211 PFU/cell, respectively. It contained a linear dsDNA of 71,453 bp, and G + C content was 40.64%. Among 96 putative open reading frames detected, only 35 gene products were found in database searches, with no virulence or antibiotic resistance genes being identified. As a biological control agent, phage vB_SalP_TR2 exhibited a high temperature and pH tolerance. In vitro, it lysed most S. Albany after 24 h at 37°C with multiplicities of infection of 0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, and 100. In food matrices (milk and chicken meat), treatment with phage vB_SalP_TR2 also reduced the number of S. Albany compared with that in controls. These findings highlighted phage vB_SalP_TR2 as a potential antibacterial agent for the control of Salmonella in food samples

    Mechanism exploration and prognosis study of Astragali Radix-Spreading hedyotis herb for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma based on bioinformatics approaches and molecular dynamics simulation

    Background: Herb pair of Astragali Radix (AR) and Spreading Hedyotis Herb (SH) has been frequently prescribed in clinical for the treatment of lung cancer owing to its favorable efficacy. Yet, the mechanism under the therapeutic effects remained unveiled, which has limited its clinical applications, and new drug development for lung cancer.Methods: The bioactive ingredients of AR and SH were retrieved from the Traditional Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Database, with the targets of obtained components predicted by Swiss Target Prediction. Genes related to lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) were acquired from GeneCards, OMIM and CTD databases, with the hub genes of LUAD screened by CTD database. The intersected targets of LUAD and AR-SH were obtained by Venn, with David Database employed to perform Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses. Survival analysis of the hub genes of LUAD was carried out using TCGA-LUAD dataset. Molecular docking of core proteins and active ingredients was performed by Auto-Dock Vina software, followed by molecular dynamics simulations of protein-ligand complexes with well-docked conformations.Results: 29 active ingredients were screened out with 422 corresponding targets predicted. It is revealed that AR-SH can act on various targets such as EGFR, MAPK1, and KARS by ursolic acid (UA), Astragaloside IV(ASIV), and Isomucronulatol 7,2′-di-O-glucoside (IDOG) to alleviate the symptoms of LUAD. Biological processes involved are protein phosphorylation, negative regulation of apoptotic process, and pathways involved are endocrine resistance, EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance, PI3K-Akt, and HIF-1 pathway. Molecular docking analysis indicated that the binding energy of most of the screened active ingredients to proteins encoded by core genes was less than −5.6 kcal/mol, with some active ingredients showing even lower binding energy to EGFR than Gefitinib. Three ligand-receptor complexes including EGFR-UA, MAPK1-ASIV, and KRAS-IDOG were found to bind relatively stable by molecular dynamics simulation, which was consistent with the results of molecule docking.Conclusion: We suggested that the herb pair of AR-SH can act on targets like EGFR, MAPK1 and KRAS by UA, ASIV and IDOG, to play a vital role in the treatment and the enhancement of prognosis of LUAD

    Inhibition of Autophagy in Microglia Alters Depressive-Like Behavior via BDNF Pathway in Postpartum Depression

    Postpartum depression (PPD) is associated with mood disorders and elevated inflammation. Studies have evidenced the activation/inhibition of autophagy and excessive activation of microglia to have a close relationship with depression. C57 and microglia-specific autophagy-deficient mice (Cx3Cr1Cre/+ATG5loxp/loxp) were employed to establish the chronic unpredicted mild stress depression mice model from embryonic day 7 (E7) to embryonic day 16 (E16). Fluoxetine was administered for 3 weeks (commencing from 1 week after birth). Behavioral tests (open field, forced swimming, and sucrose preference tests) were implemented. Western blot and immunofluorescence staining were employed to assess the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression level, autophagy-associated proteins, and inflammatory factors. Depressive behavior was reversed following fluoxetine treatment; this was evidenced via open field, sucrose preference, and forced swimming tests. Both BDNF and autophagy-associated proteins (ATG5, Beclin-1, and LC3II) were upregulated following fluoxetine treatment. Inflammatory factors including nuclear factor kappa B and inducible nitric oxide synthase were reduced while anti-inflammatory factor interleukin-10 (IL-10) was increased after fluoxetine treatment. Microglia-specific autophagy-deficient mice (Cx3Cr1Cre/+ATG5loxp/loxp) showed a curtailed autophagy level, higher inflammatory level, and reduced BDNF expression when compared with C57 mice. Autophagy inhibition in microglia contributes to inflammation, which further instigates PPD. Fluoxetine might mediate its antidepressant effect in PPD through the autophagic pathway while upregulating BDNF expression. In view of this, regulating BDNF in microglia is a potential novel therapy target for PPD
