Dual Ramsey properties for classes of algebras

Almost any reasonable class of finite relational structures has the Ramsey property or a precompact Ramsey expansion. In contrast to that, the list of classes of finite algebras with the precompact Ramsey expansion is surprisingly short. In this paper we show that any nontrivial variety (that is, equationally defined class of algebras) enjoys various \emph{dual} Ramsey properties. We develop a completely new set of strategies that rely on the fact that left adjoints preserve the dual Ramsey property, and then treat classes of algebras as Eilenberg-Moore categories for a monad. We show that finite algebras in any nontrivial variety have finite dual small Ramsey degrees, and that every finite algebra has finite dual big Ramsey degree in the free algebra on countably many free generators. As usual, these come as consequences of ordered versions of the statements

ACCESORY AND ECTOPIC LIVER LOBE AT SAME PATIENT:CASE REPORT

ntroduction: Accessory liver lobes (ALL) are defined as supranumerary liver lobes, composed of normal liver parenchyma in continuity with the liver, in contrast to ectopic liver lobes (ELL) that have no anatomical continuity with the normal liver. Case report:In this article we report on a rare radiological diagnosis of an synchronous accessory and ectopic liver lobe using ultrasonography (US) and computed tomography (CT). A 59-year-old female with no symptoms was admitted to our hospital due to preventive exam. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a high echoic 6cm x 5cm soft tissue area in right anterior subhepatic space with distinct margins, a uniform echo and blood flow and was suspected to be abdominal tumor. An enhanced abdominal computed tomography (CT) showed the irregular 65mm x 48mm x 32mm mass in the right hypochondrium below IV and V liver segment with clear margins, a uniform density, texture and contrast enhancement as normal liver tissue. In same patient CT also showed small 16mm x 12mm mass in posterior mediastinum in right retrocrural space so diagnosis of accessory and ectopic liver lobe was confirmed. An accessory liver lobe is adjacent and attached to the liver by its own mesentery, while an ectopic liver lobe is one that is completely detached from the normal liver parenchyma. Conclusion:Ultrasound can show mass in the abdomen, which is most commonly in the subhepatic area, but very rarely can initially diagnose ALL or ELL due to different echogenicity of the liver parenchyma in different acoustic windows. In the case of an atypical CT presentation, an MR examination of the abdomen is indicated but it is very rarely. Fast and accurate radiological diagnosis of ALL and ELL is important in the prevention of unnecessary invasive diagnostic procedures such as laparotomy and thoracotomy which are needed only in cases of complications

Percutaneous Computed Tomography-Guided Oxygen-Ozone (O2O3) Injection Therapy in Patients with Lower Back Pain—An Interventional Two-Year Follow-Up Study of 321 Patients

Objectives: To assess the effect of oxygen-ozone therapy guided by percutaneous Computed Tomography (CT) compared to corticosteroids in individuals experiencing lower back pain (LBP) not attributed to underlying bone-related issues. Methods: A total of 321 patients (192 males and 129 females, mean age: 51.5 ± 15.1 years) with LBP were assigned to three treatment groups: group A) oxygen-ozone only, group B) corticosteroids only, group C) oxygen-ozone and corticosteroids. Treatment was administered via CT-guided injections to the intervertebral disc (i.e., intradiscal location). Clinical improvement of pain and functionality was assessed via self-reported pain scales and magnetic resonance (MR) and CT imaging. Results: At all follow-up times, the mean score of the numeric rating scale and the total global pain scale (GPS) of study groups receiving oxygen-ozone (groups A and C) were statistically significantly lower than the study group receiving corticosteroids only (group B), with p < 0.001. There was a statistically significant difference between groups A and C at 30 days for the numeric rating scale. Conclusions: The percutaneous application of oxygen-ozone in patients with LBP due to degeneration of the lumbosacral spine showed long-lasting significant pain reduction of up to two years post-treatment when compared to corticosteroids alone. Combination therapy of oxygen-ozone and corticosteroids can be useful as corticosteroids showed statistically significant improvement in LBP earlier than the oxygen-ozone-only treatment.</p

Towards the Kechris-Pestov-Todorčević correspondence for projective Fraïssé limits

In this talk we present a way to reinterpret the Kechris-Pestov-Todorčević correspondence in an abstract categorical setting. We then instantiate this abstract setting in several ways. The interpretation in the category of countable structrures with embeddings will give us the well-known resutls of K-P-T theory for Fraïssé limits. The interpretation of this setting in categories of arbitrary structures with embeddings yields some recent results of Bartov sova in which extreme anemability of automorphism groups of some uncounable structures was established. Finally, the interpretation in op-categories yields duals of some results of K-P-T theory. For example, we shall show that if FF is a projectively homogeneous structure, then Aut(F)Aut(F) is extremely amenable if and only if the projective age of FF has the dual Ramsey property.Non UBCUnreviewedAuthor affiliation: University of Novi Sad, Faculty of SciencesFacult
