PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT AND ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL
The present study was conducted to identify the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among employees of multimedia organizations in Malaysia. Data collection was done through personally administered questionnaires from 350 employees. The statistical analysis namely Correlation analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modelling were executed. Results found positive and significant relationship between POS and OCB, a positive relationship between POS and psychological capital, and psychological capital towards OCB. Finally, psychological capital fully mediated the relationship between POS and OCB. The study makes a significant and unique contribution to literature by showing the mediation effect of psychological capital in the relationship between POS and OCB. Present study's results demonstrated that the employees’ perception of organization support, can enhance employee's psychological capital which in turn effect OCB. Keywords: psychological capital, perceived organizational support, organizational citizenship behavior
DOES RELIGIOSITY INFLUENCE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL FACTORS AND WORKPLACE DEVIANT BEHAVIOUR?
Drawing from social control theory, this study tested a moderating influence of religiosity in which emotional exhaustion and emotional stability as predictors and workplace deviance behavior is the outcome. Using data from 350 employees from the multimedia organization in Malaysia, we conducted Structural Equation Modelling analysis. Results found a positive and significant relationship between emotional exhaustion and workplace deviance behavior and negative impact of emotional stability towards workplace deviance behavior. Finally, religiosity moderates the relationship between emotional exhaustion and workplace deviance behavior, and religiosity moderates the relationship between emotional stability and workplace deviance behavior. The study makes a significant and unique contribution to the literature by showing the moderating influence of religiosity in the relationship between emotional exhaustion, emotional stability, and workplace deviance behavior. This study suggested that the employee with strong religious, mayreduce emotional exhaustion and enhance employee emotional stability, and thus, mitigate employee to engage in workplace deviance behavior.   Keywords: religiosity, emotional exhaustion, emotional stability, workplace deviant behavio
Gerakan Daya Wawasan (GDW) sebagai pemangkin pembinaan nilai-nilai proaktif, kreatif, inovatif dan cemerlang komuniti luar bandar di Malaysia
Kertas kerja ini melihat sejauhmanakah nilai-nilai proaktif, kreatif, inovatif dan cemerlang telah berjaya ditanamkan ke dalam komuniti luar bandar di Malaysia sejak Gerakan Desa Wawasan dilancarkan pada 4 hb Julai 1996. Matlamat Gerakan Desa Wawasan antara lain adalah untuk menimbulkan kesedaran bagi melakukan perubahan nilai, paradigma, sikap, amalan dan aspirasi di kalangan komuniti di luar bandar yang juga selari dengan matlamat Transformasi Kedua Pembangunan Luar Bandar dan Wawasan 2020. Lantaran itu Gerakan Daya Wawasan merupakan satu mekanisme penting bagi menyediakan komuniti luar bandar ke arah pencapaian Wawasan 2020 bagi membentuk komuniti luar bandar yang memiliki nilai-nilai proaktif, berdaya tahan, berinisiatif, berdikari, berilmu dan berdisiplin. Objektif Gerakan Daya Wawasan ialah bagi meningkatkan nilai berdikari di kalangan komuniti luar bandar dengan mengikis mentaliti subsidi, meningkatkan penglibatan masyarakat dalam pembangunan komuniti, meningkatkan keupayaan komuniti luar bandar untuk maju dan mampu menggunakan teknologi komunikasi dan maklumat (ICT). Menyedari betapa pentingnya Gerakan Desa Wawasan ini dalam pembangunan insan bagi membina komuniti luar bandar yang proaktif dan berdaya tahan dalam dunia yang serba mencabar hari ini menyebabkan kerajaan telah bersetuju menukar nama Gerakan Desa Wawasan kepada Gerakan Daya Wawasan bagi mempertegaskan usaha anjakan paradigma dan nilai di kalangan komuniti luar bandar
IMPACT TRAINING ON KNOWLEDGE DISSEMINATION ON TEACHING AND LEARNING IN MALAYSIAN HIGHER EDUCATION
This research, grant by Akademi Kepimpinan Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia (AKEPT). The purpose of this paper is to reveal the impact of AKEPT Training Program on lecturers toward their contribution on knowledge dissemination processes among peers and colleagues at faculty level. Data were collected from 519 academics from all IPTA, IPTS, in Malaysia during AKEPT Teaching and Learning training within 2008 to 2009. The study found only three out of ten elements of knowledge dissemination processes show a significant level ( more follow-up after training p= 0.037, supervisor involve me after training p= 0.27 and more confident after training p= 0.037). Where another finding show that another seven elements of knowledge dissemination processes somewhat have less change (asking questions, suggest ides in T&L, involve peers, making a decisions, hold group meeting, taking more time to transform planned into implementation and takes time to reflect). All element are moderately practiced by lecturer at MoHE. As conclusion, this paper raises awareness and provides initial guidelines to the AKEPT’s as training centre for all lecturers to improve knowledge dissemination strategies in their local university. In suggestion, intensive organizations in formulating strategies on how to properly implement and manage their pedagogical knowledge dissemination processes are open to be explore. This study has extended in pedagogical knowledge dissemination for it is probably the first to provide a comparative analysis between AKEPT’s Training Centre and local teaching and learning training centre. ACADEMIC CAREER IN THE MALAYSIAN HIGHER EDUCATION: BECOMING A PROFESSOR
The promotion to a full professor is the ultimate achievement in the career development of an academic. However, little has been written about the promotion process to a full professor.It has become a common understanding that the criteria for promotion in academic career centres primarily on teaching, research and service. However, due to the changing landscape of higher education shaped by the ease of mobility, internationalisation and emphasis on knowledge society, the promotion criteria has become more diversedand complex.This paper aims to explore the academic career, particularly the profile of a professor within the context of Malaysian higher education.Further, recognising that the higher education policy has an impact on the academic career, the discussion takes into consideration the strategic plan of the national higher education transformation and the guidelines for the tenure and promotion of two categories of professor: the professor and distinguished professor. EFFICIENCY OF COMPETITIVENESS PRIORITIES
The purpose of this study was to measure the efficiency of competitiveness priorities on adoption of Electronic Procurement (e-Procurement) system to enhance service performance at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. A survey was carried out through a set of questionnaires. The sample size is 200, but only 153 respondents participate in this survey. The staffs were from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka Durian Tunggal, Ayer Keroh and Kampus Bandar. Based on the analysis the result revealed that most of the respondents (49.7%) believed that reduction in cost such as inventory and invoice with e-Procurement. The analysis also established that most of the respondents believed that administrative tasks such as paperwork & manual filing reduce with e-Procurement (59.5%). In terms of quality, 49.7% believed that it was easier meeting the customer’s expectation towards product and services increase with e-Procurement. Thus, it showed that it was very important to meet the customer expectation and satisfaction in order to enhance the quality requirement. Apart from that, based on the response associated with competitive priorities and service performance, 67.3% of the respondents assumed that the main priority on using e-Procurement was to increase the quality service of the government sectors. The finding indicated that there was a strong positive relationship between cost (.778), time (.758) and service performance. In fact, result also showed that there was a strong positive relationship between quality (.786) and service performance. The finding also showed that there was a high association between competitive priorities (.865) and service performance. Program Pembangunan Usahawan Bumiputera Dan Pembasmian Kemiskinan : Kajian Di Negeri Melaka
Program pembangunan usahawan yang dijalankan kerajaan diakui menggalakkan perkembangan usahawan Bumiputera dan juga adalah kaedah terbaik untuk mengurangkan kadar kemiskinan. Sehubungan itu, kertas kerja ini membincangkan kepentingan ciri-ciri keusahawanan bagi memastikan program pembangunan usahawan yang telah dilaksanakan oleh kerajaan adalah tidak sia-sia. Kertas kerja ini juga melihat penekanan kerajaan terhadap keusahawanan sebagai mekanisma bagi membasmi kemiskinan. Dirumuskan penekanan terhadap pembangunan diri perlu diberikan perhatian serius dalam program pembangunan usahawan Bumiputera kerana kemahuan keusahawananlah yang mendorong kepada kejayaan usahawan seterusnya mengurangkan tahap kemiskinan di kalangan masyarakat

EFFECTIVENESS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP STYLES IN IMPROVING SMIs MANUFACTURING BUMIPUTERA TECHNOPRENEURS PERFORMANCE IN MELAKA
Understanding effectiveness entrepreneurial leadership styles were important for theoretical and practical reasons because Bumiputera technopreneurial leaders were the individual that need to lead small and medium industries (SMIs) in today’s innovative and dynamic market in Melaka. The objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness of entrepreneurial leadership styles in impoving SMIs manufacturing bumiputera technopreneurs performance in Melaka. The research had identified the certain personality traits, behaviors, competencies technopreneurial leaders. There were positive and significant relationship between entrepreneurial leadership styles namely transformational leadership style, transactional leadership style and charismatic style with entrepreneurial leaders’ personality traits, entrepreneurial leaders’ behaviours, entrepreneurial leaders’ competencies, entrepreneurial leaders’ monitoring companies’ operation and entrepreneurial leaders’ monitoring companies’ performance. The analysis shown that Bumiputera technopreneurial leaders and entrepreneurial leaders’ monitoring operation and performance among the Bumiputera can use it’s to evaluate SMIs success and ventures success. Also practitioners of high-risk lending may be interested in methods of assessing entrepreneurial leadership that can be introduced into their risk calculus and potentially improve the likelihood of higher returns of their venture in investments. Thus, charismatic leadership style was found most highly related to entrepreneurial leaders’ personality traits, entrepreneurial leaders’ behaviours, entrepreneurial leaders’ competencies, entrepreneurial leaders’ monitoring companies’ operation and entrepreneurial leaders’ monitoring companies’ performance followed by transactional leadership style and transformational leadership style. The conclusion, the research had provide insights for team building in executives’ teams of SMIs, for example providing guidance in finding team members that can make unique contributions via their personality traits, behaviors, competencies and ways to monitor SMIs operation and performance. A STUDY ON FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE CHOICE OF MALAYSIAN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE STUDENTS
The aim of this study was to determine the factors that influence the choice of institution for international graduate students. This research has looked at the pulling factors which influences international student choosing to study in Malaysia in terms of environments, emotional support, finances, academic qualities, location and culture. The population with 344 respondents chosen for this exercise comes from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Islam  Antarabangsa Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The research instrument utilized in this research was a questionnaire and the results obtained were analysed using descriptive statistics and correlation methods. The results from of this study reveal that factors that influence choice of institution are emotional support, environment quality, finance and culture. The study recommends how Malaysia can chart its way to become the education hub in the Asian region as an alternative to the traditional education destinations like the UK and the US. Keywords: graduate education, international student, finances, academic qualities, Malaysi
