SUSY QCD impact on top-pair production associated with a -boson at a photon-photon collider
The top-pair production in association with a -boson at a photon-photon
collider is an important process in probing the coupling between top-quarks and
vector boson and discovering the signature of possible new physics. We describe
the impact of the complete supersymmetric QCD(SQCD) next-to-leading order(NLO)
radiative corrections on this process at a polarized or unpolarized photon
collider, and make a comparison between the effects of the SQCD and the
standard model(SM) QCD. We investigate the dependence of the lowest-order(LO)
and QCD NLO corrected cross sections in both the SM and minimal supersymmetric
standard model(MSSM) on colliding energy in different polarized
photon collision modes. The LO, SM NLO and SQCD NLO corrected distributions of
the invariant mass of -pair and the transverse momenta of final
-boson are presented. Our numerical results show that the pure SQCD
effects in \ggttz process can be more significant in the polarized photon
collision mode than in other collision modes, and the relative SQCD radiative
correction in unpolarized photon collision mode varies from 32.09% to

Sustainability, 11(13), (2019): 3709, doi:10.3390/su11133709.On 23 August, 2017, Typhoon Hato rapidly intensified by 10 kt within 3 h just prior to landfall in the city of Macau along the South China coast. Hato’s surface winds in excess of 50 m s−1 devastated the city, causing unprecedented damage and social impact. This study reveals that anomalously warm ocean conditions in the nearshore shallow water (depth < 30 m) likely played a key role in Hato’s fast intensification. In particular, cooling of the sea surface temperature (SST) generated by Hato at the critical landfall point was estimated to be only 0.1–0.5 °C. The results from both a simple ocean mixing scheme and full dynamical ocean model indicate that SST cooling was minimized in the shallow coastal waters due to a lack of cool water at depth. Given the nearly invariant SST in the coastal waters, we estimate a large amount of heat flux, i.e., 1.9k W m−2, during the landfall period. Experiments indicate that in the absence of shallow bathymetry, and thus, if nominal cool water had been available for vertical mixing, the SST cooling would have been enhanced from 0.1 °C to 1.4 °C, and sea to air heat flux reduced by about a quarter. Numerical simulations with an atmospheric model suggest that the intensity of Hato was very sensitive to air-sea heat flux in the coastal region, indicating the critical importance of coastal ocean hydrography.The work of I.-F.P. is supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology Grant MOST 107-2111-M-008-001-MY3. Superconductivity in Fluorine-Arsenide Sr_{1-x}La_xFeAsF
Since the discovery of superconductivity\cite{1} at 26 K in oxy-pnictide
, enormous interests have been stimulated in the fields of
condensed matter physics and material sciences. Among the five different
structures in this broad type of superconductors\cite{2,3,4,5,6}, the ZrCuSiAs
structure has received special attention since the has been quickly
promoted to 55-56 K\cite{7,8,9,10,11} in fluorine doped oxy-pnictides REFeAsO
(RE = rare earth elements). The superconductivity can also be induced by
applying a high pressure to the undoped samples\cite{12,13}. The mechanism of
superconductivity in the FeAs-based system remains unclear yet, but it turns
out to be clear that any change to the structure or the building blocks will
lead to a change of the superconducting transition temperatures. In this
Letter, we report the fabrication of the new family of compounds, namely
fluorine-arsenides DvFeAsF (Dv = divalent metals) with the ZrCuSiAs structure
and with the new building block DvF instead of the REO (both the layers DvF and
REO have the combined cation state of "+1"). The undoped parent phase has a
Spin-Density-Wave like transition at about 173 K for SrFeAsF, 118 K for CaFeAsF
and 153 K for EuFeAsF. By doping electrons into the system the resistivity
anomaly associated with this SDW transition is suppressed and superconductivity
appears at 32 K in the fluorine-arsenide SrLaFeAsF (x = 0.4). Our
discovery here initiates a new method to obtain superconductors in the

Star Formation Rate Indicators in Wide-Field Infrared Survey Preliminary Release
With the goal of investigating the degree to which theMIR luminosity in
theWidefield Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) traces the SFR, we analyze 3.4,
4.6, 12 and 22 {\mu}m data in a sample of {\guillemotright} 140,000
star-forming galaxies or star-forming regions covering a wide range in
metallicity 7.66 < 12 + log(O/H) < 9.46, with redshift z < 0.4. These
star-forming galaxies or star-forming regions are selected by matching the WISE
Preliminary Release Catalog with the star-forming galaxy Catalog in SDSS DR8
provided by JHU/MPA 1.We study the relationship between the luminosity at 3.4,
4.6, 12 and 22 {\mu}m from WISE and H\alpha luminosity in SDSS DR8. From these
comparisons, we derive reference SFR indicators for use in our analysis. Linear
correlations between SFR and the 3.4, 4.6, 12 and 22 {\mu}m luminosity are
found, and calibrations of SFRs based on L(3.4), L(4.6), L(12) and L(22) are
proposed. The calibrations hold for galaxies with verified spectral
observations. The dispersion in the relation between 3.4, 4.6, 12 and 22 {\mu}m
luminosity and SFR relates to the galaxy's properties, such as 4000 {\deg}A

Strangeness Content in the Nucleon
I review recent studies of strangeness content in the nucleon pertaining to
the flavor-singlet , the matrix element and the strangeness
electric and magnetic form factors and , based on
lattice QCD calculations. I shall also discuss the relevance of incorporating
the strangeness content in nuclei in regard to strange baryon-antibaryon
productions from proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at SPS and RHIC

Racial Difference in Human Platelet PAR4 Reactivity Reflects Expression of PCTP and miR-376c
Racial differences in the pathophysiology of atherothrombosis are poorly understood. We explored the function and transcriptome of platelets in healthy black (n = 70) and white (n = 84) subjects. PAR4 thrombin receptor induced platelet aggregation and calcium mobilization were significantly greater in black subjects. Numerous differentially expressed (DE) RNAs were associated with both race and PAR4 reactivity, including phosphatidylcholine transfer protein (PCTP), and platelets from blacks expressed higher levels of PC-TP protein. PC-TP inhibition or depletion blocked activation of platelets or megakaryocytic cell lines through PAR4 but not PAR1. MiR-376c levels were DE by race and PAR4 reactivity, and were inversely correlated with PCTP mRNA levels, PC-TP protein levels and PAR4 reactivity. MiR-376c regulated expression of PC-TP in human megakaryocytes. A disproportionately high number of miRNAs DE by race and PAR4 reactivity, including miR-376c, are encoded in the DLK1-DIO3 locus, and were lower in platelets from blacks. These results support PC-TP as a regulator of the racial difference in PAR4-mediated platelet activation, indicate a genomic contribution to platelet function that differs by race, and emphasize a need to consider race effects when developing anti-thrombotic drugs

CAR T cells targeting BAFF-R can overcome CD19 antigen loss in B cell malignancies
CAR T cells targeting CD19 provide promising options for treatment of B cell malignancies. However, tumor relapse from antigen loss can limit efficacy. We developed humanized, second-generation CAR T cells against another B cell–specific marker, B cell activating factor receptor (BAFF-R), which demonstrated cytotoxicity against human lymphoma and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) lines. Adoptively transferred BAFF-R-CAR T cells eradicated 10-day preestablished tumor xenografts after a single treatment and retained efficacy against xenografts deficient in CD19 expression, including CD19-negative variants within a background of CD19-positive lymphoma cells. Four relapsed, primary ALLs with CD19 antigen loss obtained after CD19-directed therapy retained BAFF-R expression and activated BAFF-R-CAR, but not CD19-CAR, T cells. BAFF-R-CAR, but not CD19-CAR, T cells also demonstrated antitumor effects against an additional CD19 antigen loss primary patient–derived xenograft (PDX) in vivo. BAFF-R is amenable to CAR T cell therapy, and its targeting may prevent emergence of CD19 antigen loss variants
A simulation study on the measurement of D0-D0bar mixing parameter y at BES-III
We established a method on measuring the \dzdzb mixing parameter for
BESIII experiment at the BEPCII collider. In this method, the doubly
tagged events, with one decays to
CP-eigenstates and the other decays semileptonically, are used to
reconstruct the signals. Since this analysis requires good separation,
a likelihood approach, which combines the , time of flight and the
electromagnetic shower detectors information, is used for particle
identification. We estimate the sensitivity of the measurement of to be
