Study on Improvement of Indonesia Shipbuilding Productivity with Theory of Constraints
Indonesia is a big country having big population, huge area and huge Exclusive Economic Zone area. For world harmonized growth, it is quite important to realize steady economy growth on Indonesia. Growth of Indonesia’s shipbuilding industry specifically is an important part to achieve Indonesia’s maritime vision, but by far as for the shipbuilding market, 3 major countries, China, South Korea and Japan have obtained almost 100% share, which means it is quite difficult to increase the world share. In the volatile marine world, fluctuating oil price often affect production capacity, and investment decision is hard to get with TOP management. Indonesia shipbuilding industry has big mission under severe management and environmental condition. We clarify basic dilemma / conflict inhibiting the growth of Indonesia shipbuilding industry under assumption of severe management environmental condition, with Theory of Constraints (TOC). The basic dilemmas are solved by erasing the reason of existence of opposite activity and the Indonesia shipbuilding ever-lasting development logic is proposed with the solution of basic dilemma
Simulations on Prevalence of Echinococcus multilocularis in Hokkaido on the Basis of Vole Population Dynamics
In our study, we have investigated the influence of the intermediate host population density on the prevalence of Echinococcus multilocularis in the definitive host using a mathematical model of transmission. For the vole population (intermediate host) in Hokkaido, a model of population dynamics has been constructed in this paper which follows the seasonal and annual fluctuations. In the northeastern area, the vole density appears to fluctuate periodically with a 4 year cycle. The prevalence of Echinococcus multilocularis in the fox population (definitive host) can be affected by the density of vole through the fox ingesting infectious voles. Therefore we have prepared a food habit function of foxes and the logistic distribution has been proposed. The simulations which have been carried out using the mathematical model for transmission of Echinococcus multilocularis together with the vole dynamics have indicated that the prevalence in foxes is correlated and synchronized with the population dynamics of vole. In addition they have also made us recognize that it is necessary to introduce a suitable food habit function into the transmission model
Distribution of D-amino acids in vinegars and involvement of lactic acid bacteria in the production of D-amino acids
Levels of free D-amino acids were compared in 11 vinegars produced from different sources or through different manufacturing processes. To analyze the D- and L-amino acids, the enantiomers were initially converted into diastereomers using pre-column derivatization with o-phthaldialdehyde plus N-acethyl-L-cysteine or N-tert-butyloxycarbonyl-L-cysteine. This was followed by separation of the resultant fluorescent isoindol derivatives on an octadecylsilyl stationary phase using ultra-performance liquid chromatography. The analyses showed that the total D-amino acid level in lactic fermented tomato vinegar was very high. Furthermore, analysis of the amino acids in tomato juice samples collected after alcoholic, lactic and acetic fermentation during the production of lactic fermented tomato vinegar showed clearly that lactic fermentation is responsible for the D-amino acids production; marked increases in D-amino acids were seen during lactic fermentation, but not during alcoholic or acetic fermentation. This suggests lactic acid bacteria have a greater ability to produce D-amino acids than yeast or acetic acid bacteria
A model for the transmission of Echinococcus multilocularis in Hokkaido, Japan
A mathematical model for Echinococcus multilocularis transmission would be
useful to estimate its prevalence and manage control strategies. We propose a
mathematical model which quantitatively describes the transmission of E. multilocularis
in Hokkaido, Japan. The model takes into account the influence of the dynamics of both
the definitive and the intermediate host populations, which show large scale seasonal
variations as they are wild animals. The simulations based on the model clarify the
mechanism for the seasonal transmission of E. multilocularis quantitatively,
notwithstanding a lack of seasonal prevalence data. At present, human alveolar
echinococcosis is prevalent throughout the mainland of Hokkaido. The risk of being
infected with alveolar echinococcosis in the human population has been investigated by
analyzing the seasonal fluctuation of parasite egg dispersal in the environment, which
should be necessary for planning more suitable preventive measures against E.

Compressor with Turning-Paired Vane and Piston
With the aim of energy saving of room air conditioners, we are addressing higher efficiency of the rotary compressor that is used most in the world. We focused on a new rotary compressor equipped with a mechanism to restrict the rolling motion of the piston, and performed the dynamics analysis. The new rotary compressor has a small pillar at the tip of the vane and constitutes a turning pair of vane and piston, and it limits the rolling motion of the piston. By means of limiting the piston rotation, the heat transfer to the suction process from the compression chamber will be suppressed, and we can expect higher compression efficiency. Before examining the compression efficiency, we performed the dynamics analysis of this new rotary compressor and examined the forces and dynamic behavior of the components, and the mechanical efficiency of the compressor. Then we have following results. (1)We can clarify the contact point between the vane tip and piston in the turning pair by considering the equilibrium of forces and moments acting on the vane. (2)By reducing the diameter of the pillar at the vane tip, the vane tip friction loss is reduced, and the mechanical efficiency is improved. (3)The new rotary compressor has less vane tip friction loss and on the other hand greater friction loss between the vane side and the cylinder in comparison to the rolling piston rotary compressors. As a result, both compressors have almost the same mechanical efficiency
