The assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Habsburg throne, and, by accident, duchess Sophie, by Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914 triggered the First World War, the causes of which are deeply complex. Disagreements regarding the responsibility for and legacy of the war seem to have exacerbated in the centenary year, which provides an opportunity to revisit and contextualize the assassination. As a rule, public companies in the Republic of Slovenia use a twotier system of corporate governance. The supervisory boards of such companies should execute the supervisory function by informing and disclosing to the shareholders the data regarding envisaged policies of corporate governance. The principle of disclosure and transparency in general, and in the field of remuneration, is used in the Republic of Slovenia as a systemic legal method and tool, which enables better decision making processes, supervision and control of public companies in the country

Formation of silver citrate/citric acid complexed solutions was investigated. Although, silver citrate is minimally soluble in water, it can successfully be dissolved in citric acid solutions. The maximum concentration of Ag(I) in solution is estimated at 23 to 25 g/L if the concentration of citric acid is at least 4 mol/L or higher. The dissolution of silver citrate in citric acid solutions was attributed to the formation of silver citrate complexes of a general formula [Ag3(C6H5O7)n+1]3n−. The silver citrate/citric acid solutions, containing more than about 13 g/L Ag+ ion, have exhibited a decrease in Ag(I) concentration in solution over time, due to crystallization. The crystallization product was attributed to the formation of [Ag3C6H5O7]x·nH2O. Importantly, the diluted silver citrate/citric acid complexed solutions have exhibited very strong bacteriostatic and bactericidal activities

As a rule, public companies in the Republic of Slovenia use a two-tire system of corporate governance. The supervisory board in such companies can establish a balance among the interests of managers, shareholders, stakeholders and social groups allowing thecorporation to function effectively in the long-term. At the same time, the work of the audit committee, together with a clear but complex corporate governance statement, ensures better supervisory powers and provides support to shareholders in supervising the company

Erythromycin Series. III*. Acylation of Erythromycin Oxime and 9-Amino-3-0-cladinosyl-5-0-desosaminyl-6,11,12-trihydro~y-2,4, 6,8,10,12-hexamethylpentadecane-13-olide with Chlorides of Some Alyphatic Monocarboxylic Acids

In our previous publication1 the preparation of mono- and bis-acyl compounds derived from erythromycin oxime and 9-amino-3-0-cladinosyl-5-0- desosaminyl-6,11,12-trihydroxy-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexamethylpentadecane - 13 - olide (erythromycyl amine) and methyl resp. ethyl ester chlorides of succinic and adipic acid was described. It was found that neither monoacylation nor diacylation effected a substantial change in the antibiotic activity of the starting compounds. The sole exception were ethyl succinates and adipates where a lower activity was found. This is in complete agreement with the relative antibiotic activity of erythromycin and its corresponding esters (methylor ethylsuccinate resp. adipate)
