Prioritizing CSR barriers in the Indian Service Industry: A Fuzzy AHP Approach

    Get PDF
The present study identifies and prioritizes the barriers pertaining to implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies in Indian service industries. The 10 most important barriers related to CSR implementation have been first identified and then evaluated for the ranking process using Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) based methodology. The outcome of the study clearly presents that lack of top management commitment, lack of significant benefit of CSR, and financial constraints are the most important barriers in effective implementation of sustainable CSR initiatives among organizations belonging to the Indian service industry. These results may be used by decision makers to understand and these barriers, and identify critical success factors for the CSR process, which will help them to ensure that CSR is effectively implemented in their respective organizations.JEL Codes - C35; L80; M1

Primary leiomyosarcoma in the inferior vena cava- a case report

Vascular leiomyosarcoma of IVC is a rare tumor. Only about 200 cases have been reported worldwide. There is a strong predilection for females and middle segment of IVC is most commonly affected. The diagnosis is often challenging as patients present with non-specific complaints such as dyspnoea, abdominal discomfort, or back pain. A 43-year-old male presented with history of vague abdominal distention, discomfort, and dyspnoea in our hospital. Ultrasound of abdomen detected a mass in retro peritoneum with mixed echogenicity inseparable from IVC. CT Imaging examination of abdomen revealed a large elongated, heterogenous mass extending from right atrium to the confluence of common iliac veins. in IVC reaching up to inferior border of right atrium. Then USG guided biopsy done and Leiomyosarcoma of IVC was diagnosed by immunohistochemistry. Due to extensive involvement of intrahepatic segment and right atrium complete resection of mass was not possible, so radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy was started. Patient started deteriorating due to intolerability with poor response to radiotherapy and chemotherapy so he was put on supportive treatment

Green Marketing Mix: Rethinking Competitive Advantage during Climate Change

    No full text
Abstract-The research shows that companies are redefining their marketing mix in the context of green to position their products in the changing scenario. The ideology of consumption, living to consume rather than consuming to live, prevalent in the mainstay of marketing and society has affected the marketing strategy. Thus, the global climatic conditions have led to the changes in production, marketing, and consumption behaviour in the form of aggressive conservation, recycling, and green product use

Continuously Non-malleable Secret Sharing for General Access Structures

We study leakage-resilient continuously non-malleable secret sharing, as recently introduced by Faonio and Venturi (CRYPTO 2019). In this setting, an attacker can continuously tamper and leak from a target secret sharing of some message, with the goal of producing a modified set of shares that reconstructs to a message related to the originally shared value. Our contributions are two fold. In the plain model, assuming one-to-one one-way functions, we show how to obtain noisy-leakage-resilient continuous non-malleability for arbitrary access structures, in case the attacker can continuously leak from and tamper with all of the shares independently. In the common reference string model, we show how to obtain a new flavor of security which we dub bounded-leakage-resilient continuous non-malleability under selective k-partitioning. In this model, the attacker is allowed to partition the target k shares into any number of non-overlapping blocks of maximal size k, and then can continuously leak from and tamper with the shares within each block jointly. Our construction works for arbitrary access structures, and assuming (doubly enhanced) trapdoor permutations and collision-resistant hash functions, we achieve a concrete instantiation for k(formula presented). Prior to our work, there was no secret sharing scheme achieving continuous non-malleability against joint tampering, and the only known scheme for independent tampering was tailored to threshold access structures
