A model with vectorlike fermions and symmetry: CKM unitarity, transitions, and prospect at Belle II
To address the muon anomaly and the violation of the lepton flavor
universality in the semileptonic decays of mesons, B\'elanger, Delaunay,
and Westhoff introduced a new sector consisting of vectorlike fermions and two
scalar charged under an extra gauge symmetry. The exotic Yukawa
interactions in this model lead to the quark mixing responsible for the
additional contributions to the flavor changing neutral currents in -meson
decays. In this paper, we derive the analytic expression of the new physics
contributions to the Wilson coefficient in the effective Hamiltonian. By
calculating the branching ratio of the inclusive radiative decay, the
impact of current experimental data of the transition
on the model and the future prospect at the Belle II experiment are
investigated. Taking into account the recent data on the CKM unitarity
violation, the updated constraints on the flavor observables relevant to the transitions, and the perturbation limits of the couplings, the
viable parameter regions of the model are identified.Comment: 28 pages, 14 figure
Muon and semileptonic decays in B\'elanger-Delaunay-Westhoff model with gauge kinetic mixing
In the model proposed by B\'elanger, Delaunay and Westhoff (BDW), a new
sector consisted of vectorlike fermions and two complex scalars is charged
under an extra Abelian symmetry . In this paper, we generalize the BDW
model by introducing the kinetic mixing between the and the standard
model gauge fields. The new physics contributions to the muon
anomalous magnetic moment and the Wilson coefficients are
obtained analytically. We have explored the free parameter space of the model,
taking into account various constraints on the muon using recent data
from the E989 experiment at Fermilab, the lepton universality violation in
terms of and , and the branching ratios of the semileptonic
decays, and , the LEP and LHC searches for sleptons and boson, as well as the
perturbative requirement. The viable parameter regions of the model are
identified. In the presence of the gauge kinetic mixing term, those regions are
enlarged and significantly deformed in comparison to the case with vanishing
kinetic mixing. In the near future, the E989 experiment with the projected
sensitivity will be able to test significant parts of the currently allowed
parameter regions.Comment: 36 pages, 23 figures. Version to be published in Physical Review
Automatic Crack Detection in Built Infrastructure Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
This paper addresses the problem of crack detection which is essential for
health monitoring of built infrastructure. Our approach includes two stages,
data collection using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and crack detection using
histogram analysis. For the data collection, a 3D model of the structure is
first created by using laser scanners. Based on the model, geometric properties
are extracted to generate way points necessary for navigating the UAV to take
images of the structure. Then, our next step is to stick together those
obtained images from the overlapped field of view. The resulting image is then
clustered by histogram analysis and peak detection. Potential cracks are
finally identified by using locally adaptive thresholds. The whole process is
automatically carried out so that the inspection time is significantly improved
while safety hazards can be minimised. A prototypical system has been developed
for evaluation and experimental results are included.Comment: In proceeding of The 34th International Symposium on Automation and

Combining content and social features in a deep learning approach to Vietnamese email prioritization
The email overload problem has been discussed in numerous email-related studies. One of the possible solutions to this problem is email prioritization, which is the act of automatically predicting the importance levels of received emails and sorting the user’s inbox accordingly. Several learning-based methods have been proposed to address the email prioritization problem using content features as well as social features. Although these methods have laid the foundation works in this field of study, the reported performance is far from being practical. Recent works on deep neural networks have achieved good results in various tasks. In this paper, the authors propose a novel email prioritization model which incorporates several deep learning techniques and uses a combination of both content features and social features from email data. This method targets Vietnamese emails and is tested against a self-built Vietnamese email corpus. Conducted experiments explored the effects of different model configurations and compared the effectiveness of the new method to that of a previous work
On a Standard Model Extension with Vector-like Fermions and Abelian Symmetry
We investigate an extension of the standard model with vector-like fermions and an extra Abelian gauge symmetry. The particle mass spectrum is calculated explicitly. The Lagrangian terms for all the gauge interactions of leptons and quarks in the model are derived. We observe that while there is no new mixing in the lepton sector, the quark mixing plays an important role in the magnitudes of gauge interactions for quarks, particularly the interactions with massive , and bosons. We calculate the contributions of the new vector-like leptons and quarks to the Peskin-Takeuchi parameters as well as the parameter of the electroweak precision tests, and show that the model is realistic
Biological Characteristics of Some Fish Species in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam
Vietnam, with a rich river system, many lagoons, and a long coastline, the fish fauna comprises both brackish and freshwater fish. The system of Mekong river is an extensive river located in the south of Vietnam. There are all kinds of brackish and freshwater fish in this river system. This chapter reveals data on the fish species composition and their roles in the Vietnamese Mekong delta. Moreover, the growth pattern and condition factor of some commercial fishes are also presented in this chapter. Their population structure and fishing status are also reported in this chapter
Interpretation of 1H-NMR spectrum of alginate by 1H-1H TOCSY and COSY spectrum
The sodium alginate was prepared from brown seaweeds in Thua-Thien-Hue coastal area. The obtained alginate was characterized by 1H-NMR, 1H-1H TOCSY and COSY spectra. The assignment of alginate peaks in 1H-NMR spectrum is 5.09, 4.446, 4.152, 4.318, 4.135 ppm in correspondence to H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 of D-mannuronic acid and 5.473, 4.318, 4.446, 4.571, 4.883 ppm in correspondence to H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 of L-guluronic acid, respectively. The present results are essential for the investigating guidance of alginate and its derivatives
Saprochaete Capitata Infection in an 80–Year Old Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Patient: A Case Report
BACKGROUND: The fungal disease caused by invasive fungus Saprochaete capitata is becoming an increasingly popular infection. Fungal pathogens mainly occur in patients with immunocompromised disorders such as hematologic malignancies, acute myeloid leukemia, transplant patients.
CASE REPORT: In this study, we presented a COPD patient infected with S. capitata. At the first check, the patient showed cough, dyspnea, chest pain on both sides. The clinical laboratory test result was characterized with high White blood cell (12.8 G/L), HIV negative. The X ray showed bronchitis and emphysema. Bronchoscopy illustrated bronchial mucositis. CT scanner demonstrated pneumonia with fuzzy nodular lesions and thick interstitial organization in both lungs. The patient was treated with ciprofloxacin 800 mg/day; cefuroxime 2250 mmg/day. However, the fever appeared 2 weeks thereafter. The S. capitata was discovered in the bronchial fluid. The patient was then treated with fluconazole 400 mg/day for 14 days. At the end of treatment, all signs and symptoms of S. capitata infection disappeared and the patient recovered.
CONCLUSION: This case study showed that S. capitata infection can occur in the COPD patients and fluconazole is a pertinent drug for treatment of the infection
