Building Up and Improvement of the Institution of the Socialist Oriented Market Economy in Vietnam

The market oriented economic reform direction has been officially affirmed since the VI Congress of the Vietnamese Communist Party (1986) with the approval of the economic reform plan towards doi moi. This direction was then legalized in the Constitution (1992) and further developed in official documents of Communist Party Congresses and legal documents of the Government of Vietnam . In the past years, to specify this political direction, the Government and people of Vietnam have made endless efforts to establish a new economic institution system called the socialist oriented market economy.Vietnam, Transitional Economy, Socialist Oriented Market Economy

Vietnam Economy 2001-2005 and Socio-Economic Development Plan 2006-2010

In 2005, Vietnams GDP growth rate attained 8.4%, far exceeding the 2004 figure of 7.8%. This is the highest growth rate that Vietnam has experienced since 1997. Vietnam also scored the second highest growth rate (preceded by China) compared to other East Asian countries. High economic growth rate in 2005 enabled Vietnam to fulfill its targeted average growth rate of 7.5% per annum set in the 2001-2005 Five-year Plan.Vietnam, Socio-Economic Development Plan

Vietnam’s Accession to the World Trade Organization: Economic Projections to 2020

This study presents a set of assessments of the long term economic effects of Vietnam’s accession to the WTO. Generally speaking, our results indicate that Vietnam would benefit from accelerating its participation in more open multilateralism. However, it is also clear from our analysis that these benefits will remain modest in the absence of comprehensive and complementary domestic economic reforms. Passive external liberalization, even when coupled with determined domestic reform, is inferior to WTO participation combined with negotiated market access and other activist multilateral agreements. Finally, our analysis shows that capital insufficiency is a very serious constraint on Vietnamese economic growth and diversification. Capital market reform can play an essential role in dynamic and sustained economic development for the country.Vietnam, WTO, Trade

Hybrid User Pairing for Spectral and Energy Efficiencies in Multiuser MISO-NOMA Networks with SWIPT

In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid user pairing (HUP) scheme in multiuser multiple-input single-output nonorthogonal multiple access networks with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. In this system, two information users with distinct channel conditions are optimally paired while energy users perform energy harvesting (EH) under non-linearity of the EH circuits. We consider the problem of jointly optimizing user pairing and power allocation to maximize the overall spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) subject to userspecific quality-of-service and harvested power requirements. A new paradigm for the EE-EH trade-off is then proposed to achieve a good balance of network power consumption. Such design problems are formulated as the maximization of nonconcave functions subject to the class of mixed-integer non-convex constraints, which are very challenging to solve optimally. To address these challenges, we first relax binary pairing variables to be continuous and transform the design problems into equivalent non-convex ones, but with more tractable forms. We then develop low-complexity iterative algorithms to improve the objectives and converge to a local optimum by means of the inner approximation framework. Simulation results show the convergence of proposed algorithms and the SE and EE improvements of the proposed HUP scheme over state-of-the-art designs. In addition, the effects of key parameters such as the number of antennas and dynamic power at the BS, target data rates, and energy threshold, on the system performance are evaluated to show the effectiveness of the proposed schemes in balancing resource utilization

The influence of govermental management, customers and suppliers relationship to foreign direct investment companies’ performance in Binh Duong province: A qualitative study

Binh Duong province is becoming one of the most attractive locations for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) firms of different origins, yet few studies have been conducted to investigate the several aspects related to FDI firms in Binh Duong. This research aims to evaluate the performance of FDI companies and understand the potential determinants of the performances by utilizing the exploratory approach. The research methodology is carefully designed to ensure the trustworthiness in data collection, coding and analysis. The study finds out four dimensions of Governmental Management: Managerial Political Ties, Institutional Support, Governmental Training Activities and Administrative Procedure that relate to FDI firm performance and competitive advantages. Furthermore, relationship with customers and suppliers manifest correlations with the performance and competitive advantage of FDI enterprises. Finally, this paper suggests some managerial implications for the governmental agencies to improve the current policies to attract more foreign investors. Specifically, FDI companies also get some valuable information when investing in the emerging market like Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular
