Divergencia genetica entre linhagens de melancia parcialmente endogamicas.
A melancia ( Citrullus lanatus) e cultivada praticamente em todo o Brasil, porem, as cultivares disponiveis sao suscetiveis aos principais estresses bioticos. A Embrapa Semi- Arido dispoe de linhagens parcialmente endogamicas provenientes de diferentes progenies resistentes a oidio (L2 e L7) necessitando-se, pois, estudar a divergencia entre elas. Para tanto, 20 linhagens de melancia foram cultivadas, sob irrigacao por sulcos, no espacamento de 3m x 0,80m, no Campo Experimental de Bebedouro, Petrolina-PE, no segundo semestre de 2000. A analise multivariada, utilizando a distancia Euclidiana Media Ponderada, revelou a existencia de tres grupos, sendo que o primeiro englobou 85% dos tratamentos estudadas e pertencentes as progenies L2 e L7. O grupo II foi formado por duas linhagens da progenie L7 e o grupo III por um unico tratamento da progenie L2. Observou-se assim, que as linhagens disponiveis apresentam divergencia entre si, principalmente para espessura da casca e prolificidade, portanto, com potencial para sintese de hibridos intrapopulacionais.Suplemento. Optimization of the íon source cathodes of the CV-28 Cyclotron
This improvement intends to expand the useful life of the cathodes of the CV-28’s ion source. The original cathodes had an average life of 8 hours for proton, deuteron, alpha and helium-3 particle acceleration, making a weekly replacement necessary. With the beginning of the commercial production of the 123I radiopharmaceutical, the reliability of the CV-28 had to be increased, so the cyclotron was optimized for 24-MeV proton acceleration. Within this framework, there was the idea of optimizing the cathodes for the exclusive acceleration of protons. The developed version is in use presently and has an average useful life of 300 hours
A Comparative Study of Onychomycosis and Traumatic Toenail Onychodystrophy Dermoscopic Patterns
Background: Onychomycosis (OM) and traumatic onychodystrophy (OD) are common causes of toenail changes. A clinical diagnosis is often impossible without mycology. Dermoscopy is helpful in this setting but yet underexplored. Prospective comparative studies between OM and OD onychoscopic findings have not been previously performed.
Objectives: We sought to determine distinguishing dermoscopic presentations of OM and traumatic OD.
Methods: We performed a prospective, observational study including patients presenting with ≥1 toenail onychodystrophy. All underwent onychoscopy, clinical and mycological examination. Based on these results, patients received a final diagnosis of OM or OD. Dermoscopic presentations of OM and OD patients were classified in patterns and compared.
Results: In all, 110 cases of OM and 82 of traumatic OD were compared. Statistical analyses revealed that the distal pulverized and the irregular spiked macular dermoscopic patterns were predictors of an OM diagnosis. The regular macular, the non-classifiable, the total and partial homogeneous background dermoscopic patterns correlated with traumatic OD diagnosis.
Conclusions: We demonstrated that OM and traumatic OD have distinctive onychoscopic presentations. Dermoscopy may be an important ancillary tool to guide their differential.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
