THE CONDITION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT IN ROMANIA

    Get PDF
The present article approaches a very important and actual theme and that is the problem of generating waste in Romania which, on one hand, affects the environment and human health, and on the other hand it reflects the inefficient way of using the natural resources in society. Probably the majority of us have thought or hoped that the natural resources are inexhaustible, but we can see today that the unwise exploitation of these resources is threatening our future. Waste management is a difficult and complex problem in Romania which is far from being solved according to the environment rules of the European Union. The worsening of the waste problem, especially of the domestic waste is generated by the significant increase of its quantity, as well as by the inappropriate way of solving different stages of waste processing.environmental protection; waste; waste management; reuse, reduce and recycle waste

The Importance of Cultural Marketing in Evaluating Creative Personnel

    Get PDF
Culture is known as the product of human activities and thinking, therefore culture consist intovarious numbers of concepts containing science, beliefs, arts, customs, etc. Thus unlike any otherdomains, culture needs a specific type of marketing that is adapted to its special cultural productsand services. In the cultural businesses the most important role goes to the creative personal, therefore this special type of personal will require special means of evaluation. The present articleaims to demonstrate the importance cultural marketing in evaluating creative personal, becausecreative personal acts like both productive personal and marketing personal at the same time. Thusevaluating creative personal should take into consideration their ability of promoting culture

Management of the creation process - essential component of management of human resources in cultural institutions

Important in terms of culture is how to manage because it can bring many benefits, from spiritual to material. In cultural institutions, human resources are trained in the creative process. In this context, we can speak of a creative person. Depending on the type of cultural institution, creative staff play a more important or almost exclusive role. The creative process is the one that first defines the cultural institution

The Effect of a Social Enrichment Programme on the Behaviour of Dogs from a Private Shelter

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was the behavior assessment of dogs housed in a private shelter, before and after implementing an intensive social enrichment programme. Using an assessment protocol of provoked and unprovoked behavior, a range of behavioral indicators was recorded in 20 dogs housed for more than two years in the shelter. The data collected was used for computing a quality of life score (QL). After the implementation of the social enrichment programme, 75% of the studied dogs received higher QL scores compared with the initial assessment. At that stage, also a slight increasing in the proportion of the dogs’ positive indicators was seen. No significant difference was recorded when compared the results obtained by the two assessors. The higher QL scores obtained after the enrichment programme prove that such a programme has positive effects on the behavior and on the life quality of shelter dogs

Integrative genomic analysis of CREB defines a critical role for transcription factor networks in mediating the fed/fasted switch in liver

BACKGROUND: Metabolic homeostasis in mammals critically depends on the regulation of fasting-induced genes by CREB in the liver. Previous genome-wide analysis has shown that only a small percentage of CREB target genes are induced in response to fasting-associated signaling pathways. The precise molecular mechanisms by which CREB specifically targets these genes in response to alternating hormonal cues remain to be elucidated. RESULTS: We performed chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled to high-throughput sequencing of CREB in livers from both fasted and re-fed mice. In order to quantitatively compare the extent of CREB-DNA interactions genome-wide between these two physiological conditions we developed a novel, robust analysis method, termed the ‘single sample independence’ (SSI) test that greatly reduced the number of false-positive peaks. We found that CREB remains constitutively bound to its target genes in the liver regardless of the metabolic state. Integration of the CREB cistrome with expression microarrays of fasted and re-fed mouse livers and ChIP-seq data for additional transcription factors revealed that the gene expression switches between the two metabolic states are associated with co-localization of additional transcription factors at CREB sites. CONCLUSIONS: Our results support a model in which CREB is constitutively bound to thousands of target genes, and combinatorial interactions between DNA-binding factors are necessary to achieve the specific transcriptional response of the liver to fasting. Furthermore, our genome-wide analysis identifies thousands of novel CREB target genes in liver, and suggests a previously unknown role for CREB in regulating ER stress genes in response to nutrient influx
