Lombard (E.H.E.S.S., Paris) gives a short survey about the part played by Chinese masters of fighting arts in the development of the martial arts in the Archipelago. After having stressed several aspects of the silat : ritual, spectacular, rebellious and of religious groups, the author évoques some remarquable Chinese silat masters and sketches an outline of the evolution of tendencies of the fighting arts in Indonesia.D.
