Coherent modes of X-ray beams emitted by undulators in new storage rings
Synchrotron radiation emitted by electrons passing through an undulator
placed in a storage ring is decomposed in coherent modes. The case of ultimate
storage rings where the electron emittance is comparable to the emittance of
the photon fan is analyzed by means of the cross spectral density and the
coherent mode spectrum. The proposed method permits naturally the statistical
analysis and propagation of the cross spectral density along the beamline
optics. The coherence properties of the X-ray beam at any point of the beamline
are completely given in terms of the eigenvalues and coherent modes of the
cross spectral density.Comment: 5 pages, 6 Figures, 17 reference
About the coherent fraction of synchrotron emission
Coherent fraction is a concept widely used in the synchrotron radiation
community. Here I discuss the meaning of coherent fraction, an accurate way to
define it, and the different formulations found in literature to calculate it.
After several comparisons using values from the present and future ESRF
lattices, an approximated way to quickly compute it is proposed.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, to be submitted to Journal of Synchrotron

Weighted Kernel regression
In the fixed design regression model, additional weights are considered for the Nadaraya--Watson and Gasser--M\"uller kernel estimators. We study their asymptotic behavior and the relationships between new and classical estimators. For a simple family of weights, and considering the IMSE as global loss criterion, we show some possible theoretical advantages. An empirical study illustrates the performance of the weighted estimators in finite samples.Asymptotic behavior, fixed design, nonparametric regression, smoothing

Studies for Type-I, type-II and Type-III Intermittencies.
There are several topics in fluid mechanics where the intermittency phenomenon appears, such as in Lorenz systems, Rayleigh-Bénard convection, DNLS equation and turbulence. The correct evaluation of the intermittency phenomenon contributes to a better prediction and a proper description of these topics. We summarized here a new method we have recently proposed to evaluate the reinjection probability function for type-II and type-III intermittencies. The new reinjection probability density (RPD) has been observed in the broad class of maps, as we have checked by both numerical simulations and analytical studies. For type-II and type-III intermittencies, we presented a new one-parameter family of functions describing the reinjection probability, being the usual type-II uniform reinjection probability a particular case of our RPD. For the type-III case, a new two-parameter family of RPD has been found from which one can derive the lower bound of reinjection (LBR). By extending the preceding analysis of type-II and type-III intermittencies, we give here a new RPD for the type-I case, from which we also derive the densities of the laminar phase lengths and the new characteristic relations
