    In the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Cu2(C8H4O5)2(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2], the CuII ion is coordinated by two N atoms from a bipyridine ligand, three O atoms from two 3-carb­oxy-2-oxidobenzoate dianions and the O atom of the water mol­ecule in a distorted octa­hedral geometry. The Cu—-O(H) coordination [2.931 (3) Å] is very weak. In the crystal structure, the dinuclear units are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (010) by O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds

    Reconciling experimental and lattice data of Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) in a J/ψπJ/\psi\pi-DDˉD\bar{D}^* coupled-channel analysis

    We study the J/ψπJ/\psi \pi and DDˉD\bar{D}^* coupled-channel system within a covariant framework. The J/ψπJ/\psi \pi and DDˉD\bar{D}^* invariant-mass distributions measured at 4.23~GeV and 4.26~GeV by BESIII and the finite-volume energy levels from recent lattice QCD simulations are simultaneously fitted. Phase shifts and inelasticities of the J/ψπJ/\psi \pi and DDˉD\bar{D}^* scattering are predicted using the resulting amplitudes. Poles corresponding to the Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) state are found in the complex energy plane and their couplings with J/ψπJ/\psi \pi and DDˉD\bar{D}^* are determined. Our results indicate that the current lattice data do not preclude the existence of a physical Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) state.Comment: 22 pages, 4 figure

    Fascin-1 and Digestive System Carcinoma

    Invasion and metastasis are major reason for poor prognosis of digestive system carcinoma patients. Motility and migratory capacity are important in contributing to tumor cells’ invasion and metastasis. Fascin is one of actin cross-linking proteins and can participate in forming parallel actin bundles in cell protrusions. Fascin-1 is consequently involved in cell adhesion, motility, and signaling. In cultured cells, over-expression of fascin-1 can increase migration and invasion capacity of cells. Many studies show up-expressions of fascin-1 are significantly associated with worse prognosis, poor differentiation, TNM stage, positive for lymph node metastasis, and positive for distant metastasis in digestive system carcinoma patients. So fascin-1 may have prognostic value as an early biomarker for more aggressive digestive system carcinoma. This review provides detailed account of preclinical studies conducted to determine the utility of fascin-1 as a therapeutic and predictive agent in invasion and metastasis of carcinomas

    Curcumin Blocks Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells Migration, Invasion, Angiogenesis, Cell Cycle and Neoplasia through Janus Kinase-STAT3 Signalling Pathway

    Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, has been shown to protect against carcinogenesis and prevent tumor development. However, little is known about its anti-tumor mechanism in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). In this study, we found that curcumin can inhibit SCLC cell proliferation, cell cycle, migration, invasion and angiogenesis through suppression of the STAT3. SCLC cells were treated with curcumin (15 µmol/L) and the results showed that curcumin was effective in inhibiting STAT3 phosphorylation to downregulate of an array of STAT3 downstream targets ,which contributed to suppression of cell proliferation, loss of colony formation, depression of cell migration and invasion. Curcumin also suppressed the expression of proliferative proteins (Survivin, Bcl-XL and Cyclin B1), and invasive proteins (VEGF, MMP-2, MMP-7 and ICAM-1).Knockdown of STAT3 expression by siRNA was able to induce anti-invasive effects in vitro. In contrast, activation of STAT3 upstream of interleukin 6 (IL-6) leads to the increased cell proliferation ,cell survival, angiogenesis, invasion, migration and tumor growth. Our findings illustrate the biologic significance of IL-6/JAK/STAT3 signaling in SCLC progression and providenovel evidence that the pathway may be a new potential target for therapy of SCLC. It was concluded that curcumin is a potent agent in the inhibition of STAT3 with favorable pharmacological activity,and curcumin may have translational potential as an effective cancer therapeutic or preventive agent for SCLC
