On the Observability of "Invisible" / "Nearly Invisible" Charginos
It is shown that if the charginos decay into very soft leptons or hadrons +
due to degeneracy/ near- degeneracy with the LSP or the sneutrino,
the observability of the recently proposed signal via the single photon (+ soft
particles) + channel crucially depends on the magnitude of the \SNU
mass due to destructive interferences in the matrix element squared. If the
\SNU's and, consequently, left-sleptons are relatively light, the size of the
signal, previously computed in the limit \MSNU \to \infty only, is
drastically reduced. We present the formula for the signal cross section in a
model independent way and discuss the observability of the signal at LEP 192

A record production from an integrated farming system utilising sewage enriched water
The results of experiments conducted on a pond dyke (655m²) in the Wastewater Aquaculture Division of the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Rahara, during 1992-93 for maximising production through optimum utilisation of resources are communicated. Round the year intensive cultivation of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus), amaranth (Amaranthus gangeticus and A. viridus), water-bind weed (Ipomea aquatica), Indian spinach (Basella rubra), radish (Raphanus sativum), amaranth (Amaranthus viridis), cauliflower (Brassica oleracia var. votrytis), cabbage (Brassica oleracia var. capitota) and papaya (Carica papaya) was undertaken using the treated sewage water from fish ponds for irrigation. The pond dyke yielded 5,626.5 kg vegetable which worked out to 85.9 tons per ha per year. Multiple cropping with these vegetables excluding papaya on a 460 m² dyke recorded a production of 4,926.5 kg at the rate of 107.1t per ha/yr. An improved yearly net return of about 35% over investment could be achieved through the selection of highly productive and pest resistant vegetable crops of longer duration for integration into the system. Utilisation of vegetable leaves for carp production
The results of two sets of experiments on mono-culture of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) and mixed culture of carps (grass carp 50 : catla 20 : rohu 15 : mrigal 15) fed exclusively with vegetable leaves are reported. The experiments were conducted with two replicates each in 0.02 ha ponds of Wastewater Aquaculture Division of the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Rahara during 1991-93. Monoculture of grass carp stocked at 1000/ha demonstrated an average net production of 21.0 kg/ 0.02 ha/8 months (1501 kg/ha/yr). Mixed culture of carps stocked at 5000 /ha recorded an average net production of 22.5 kg/0.02 ha/8 months (1903.7 kg/ha/yr). Field studies revealed that water bind weed (Ipomoea aquatica) is the most preferred feed of grass carp amongst vegetable leaves followed by amaranths (Amaranthus gangeticus and Amaranthus viridis), cauliflower (Brassica oleracia var. votrytis) and cabbage (Brassica oleracia var. capitata) leaves. Through selection of highly productive leaf vegetables and suitable crop planning on fallow fish pond dykes, round the year feeding programme of grass carp has been explored. Recycling of sewage effluent for vegetable production and utilisation of vegetable leaves for fish production is considered an ideal way of integrated resource management for low cost production

A hybrid ED/RO process for TDS reduction of produced waters
Large volumes of produced waters are generated from natural gas production. In the United States the prevailing management practice for produced waters is deep well injection, but this practice is costly. Therefore minimizing the need for deep well injection is desirable. A major treatment issue for produced waters is the reduction of total dissolved solids (TDS), which consist mostly of inorganic salts. A hybrid electrodialysis/reverse-osmosis (ED/RO) treatment process is being developed to concentrate the salts in produced waters and thereby reduce the volume of brine that needs to be managed for disposal. The desalted water can be used beneficially or discharged. In this study, laboratory feasibility experiments were conducted by using produced waters from multiple sites. A novel-membrane configuration approach to prevent fouling and scale formation was developed and demonstrated. Results of laboratory experiments and plans for field demonstration are discussed
Radiatively Induced Neutrino Masses and Large Higgs-Neutrino Couplings in the Standard Model with Majorana Fields
The Higgs sector of the Standard Model with one right-handed neutrino per
family is systematically analyzed. In a model with intergenerational
independent mixings between families, we can account for very light neutrinos
acquiring Majorana masses radiatively at the first electroweak loop level. We
also find that in such a scenario the Higgs coupling to the light-heavy
neutrinos and to the heavy-heavy ones may be remarkably enhanced with
significant implications for the production of these heavy neutrinos at high

Virtual LSPs at e+ e- Colliders
Currently popular search strategies for supersymmetric particles may be
significantly affected due to relatively light sneutrinos which decay
dominantly into invisible channels. In certain cases the second lightest
neutralino may also decay invisibly leading to two extra carriers of missing
energy (in addition to the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP)) -- the
virtual LSPs (VLSPs). It is shown that if the sneutrino masses happen to be in
the small but experimentally allowed range ~ 45 - 55 GeV, these particles
together with neutralino pairs may contribute significantly to the missing
energy in the process e+ e- ---> \gamma + missing energy at LEP-2 energies as
an enhancement over the Standard Model or the conventional MSSM predictions. It
is further shown that a much larger region of the parameter space can be
scanned at a high luminosity e+ e- collider at 500 GeV like the proposed NLC
machine. Moreover this process can play a complementary role to direct chargino
searches at LEP-2 and NLC which may fail due to a near mass degeneracy of the
chargino and the sneutrino. Formulae for the cross sections taking into account
full mixings of the charginos and the neutralinos are derived. The signal
remains observable even in the context of more restricted models based on N=1
SUGRA with common scalar and gaugino masses. The effect of soft photon

Non-universal gaugino masses: a signal-based analysis for the Large Hadron Collider
We discuss the signals at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for scenarios with
non-universal gaugino masses in supersymmetric (SUSY) theories. We perform a
multichannel analysis, and consider the ratios of event rates in different
channels such as , - and -
, as well as and final states
together with . Low-energy SUSY spectra corresponding to
high-scale gaugino non-universality arising from different breaking schemes of
SU(5) as well as SO(10) Grand Unified (GUT) SUSY models are considered, with
both degenerate low-energy sfermion masses and those arising from a
supergravity scenario. We present the numerical predictions over a wide range
of the parameter space using the event generator {\tt Pythia}, specifying the
event selection criteria and pointing out regions where signals are likely to
be beset with backgrounds. Certain broad features emerge from the study, which
may be useful in identifying the signatures of different GUT breaking schemes
and distinguishing them from a situation with a universal gaugino mass at high
scale. The absolute values of the predicted event rates for different scenarios
are presented together with the various event ratios, so that these can also be
