    A note on Higgs decays into ZZ boson and J/Ξ¨(Ξ₯)J/\Psi (\Upsilon)

    Rare decays hβ†’ZVh\to Z V with VV denoting the narrow ccΛ‰c\bar{c} or bbΛ‰b\bar{b} resonances, such as J/Ξ¨J/\Psi or Ξ₯\Upsilon states, have been analyzed. Within the standard model, these channels may proceed through the tree-level transition hβ†’ZZβˆ—h\to ZZ^* with the virtual Zβˆ—β†’VZ^*\to V, and also loop-induced process hβ†’ZΞ³βˆ—h\to Z\gamma^*, followed by Ξ³βˆ—β†’V\gamma^*\to V. Our analysis shows that, for the bottomonium final states, the decay rate of hβ†’ZΞ₯h\to Z \Upsilon from the loop-induced process is small and the former transition gives the dominant contribution; while, for the charmonium final states, Ξ“(hβ†’ZJ/Ξ¨)\Gamma(h\to Z J/\Psi) and Ξ“(hβ†’ZΞ¨(2S))\Gamma(h\to Z\Psi(2S)) induced by hβ†’ZΞ³βˆ—β†’ZVh\to Z\gamma^* \to Z V could be comparable to the contribution given by the tree-level hβ†’ZZβˆ—β†’ZVh\to ZZ^*\to Z V transition.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figure

    We have presented a theoretical study of exclusive rare WW-boson decays, Wβ†’Vβ„“Ξ½Λ‰β„“W\to V\ell\bar{\nu}_\ell with VV denoting a neutral vector meson and β„“=e\ell=e or ΞΌ\mu, in the standard model. The leading-order contributions to these processes are given by Wβ†’Ξ³βˆ—β„“Ξ½Λ‰β„“W\to \gamma^*\ell\bar{\nu}_\ell with the subsequent Ξ³βˆ—β†’V\gamma^*\to V transition. Branching fractions of these decay modes, for V=ρV=\rho, Ο‰\omega, Ο•\phi, and J/Ξ¨J/\Psi, respectively, have been calculated and predicted around 10βˆ’6∼10βˆ’710^{-6}\sim 10^{-7}, which are surprisingly larger than those of two-body hadronic radiative decays WΒ±β†’MΒ±Ξ³W^\pm\to M^\pm \gamma with MM denoting a pseudoscalar or vector meson. Thus it is expected that rare WW decays into a neutral vector meson plus lepton pair may be the promising channels in future experimental facilities with a large number of WW-boson events produced.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures.
