Stand der Sicherheitsforschung zur Freisetzung transgener Organismen. Auswertung internationaler und nationaler Erkenntnisse
The study contains a compilation of the results of German and international research projects concerning safety aspects related to the deliberate release of genetically engineered organisms since 1992. The results have been compiled and compared as far as possible. This study is intended to help people working on criteria for the evaluation of safety aspects concerning deliberate release of genetically modified organisms. The most important aspects have been elaborated separately for transgenic microorganisms, plants and animals. Aspects are described with demand for research. Moegliche Wirkungen auf die Umwelt bei gentechnischen Arbeiten mit Phytopathogenen
Different German and foreign lists of organisms developed for safety assessment of genetic engineering were investigated. The objective of the study was to investigate whether the existing lists of organisms are suitable for safety assessment of genetic engineering using phytopathogenic bacteria, fungi or viruses with respect to possible environmental affects. In addition to the analysis of the existing organism lists the different diseases of crops and wild plants relevant for Central Europe were compiled. These compilations were compared with the different organism lists for safety assessment of genetic engineering. Specific traits of phytopathogenic microorganisms were evaluated with respect to their potential risks. Presumptive applications of genetic engineering with phytopathogenic microorganisms were discussed. Umweltvertraeglichkeit von Reinigern auf Bakterienbasis
Untersucht wurden Reinigungsprodukte, die Mikroorganismen enthalten und die insbesondere fuer den Einsatz in Fettabscheidern vorgesehen sind. Es wurden Literaturangaben ueber diese Produkte zusammengestellt. Ausgewaehlte Produkte wurden in Laborexperimenten mikrobiologisch untersuch. Weiterhin wurde im Laborversuch experimentell festgestellt, in wie weit diese Praeparate einen biologischen Abbau von Fetten zu CO_2 bewirken koennen. In einem Praxisversuch an einem Fettabscheider wurde untersucht, wie sich die Abwasserqualitaet ohne und mit der Anwendung eines derartigen Praeparates verhaelt. (orig.)Cleaning products containing microorganisms were studied with a focus an products intended for the application in grease traps. Literature data available were compiled. Microbiological investigations were conducted with selected products. In addition laboratory experiments were performed in order to evaluate the capability of the products to support biodegradation of fatty compounds to CO_2. The influence on sewage quality was determined in a grease trap of a canteen with a selected product.
