    Les environnements des cerrados et aspects de l’occupation du sol dans la région de São José dos Talhados

    This article is a cerrados (Savannah) environmental study of Patrocínio and Coromandel municipalities, situated in the Center South-West portion of Minas Gerais State (Center-South Region of Brazil) and more precisely in the São José dos Talhados region. This districts in addition to favorable topography and strategic location for agricultural and livestock development, has received resources from implementation of productive impulses programs such as the Program Development of Cerrado (POLOCENTRO), the Settlement Program Headed the Paranaíba High (PADAP) and Agricultural Development Program of Japanese-Brazilian Cerrado Regions (PRODECER). Those programs aimed at the modernization of farming in large extensions of land in the area of the chapadas and therefore the economic development of this region. In order to mitigate natural resource degradation they suggested adaptation of the production structure and reduction of impacts on natural ecosystems as well as to maintain stable agro-ecosystems in the cerrados
