    Singularities of symptomatology and progress of a patient with Zika fever

    Several countries confirm Zika virus infection, sometimes coinciding with cases of microcephaly. There are also reports of coexistence with the Guillain–Barré syndrome, aspects that preoccupy because of the possible effects of the virus. The opportune detection of the infected patients is important to control the transmission of the disease and reduce its negative effects on health. In the “Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima” Polyclinic of the municipality of Las Tunas confirmed cases of Zika fever have been reported. In a doctor’s office belonging to this health district a positive case was reported, which, due to its characteristics, motivated this case presentation. Zika virus infection produced general symptoms that did not worry the patient as they relieved at the second day. After four days she went to see the doctor complaining of rash and intense pruritus, with no fever. The patient stated not having fever in the previous days. Urine PCR was positive. The patient was admitted to the hospital, suspected of having Zika virus infection. The case appeared in a month of the year with less incidence probability of the disease.</p
