omega --> pi0 gamma* and phi --> pi0 gamma* Transition form factors in dispersion theory

We calculate the omega --> pi0 gamma* and phi --> pi0 gamma* electromagnetic transition form factors based on dispersion theory, relying solely on a previous dispersive analysis of the corresponding three-pion decays and the pion vector form factor. We compare our findings to recent measurements of the omega --> pi0 mu+ mu- decay spectrum by the NA60 collaboration, and strongly encourage experimental investigation of the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-forbidden phi --> pi0 l+ l- decays in order to understand the strong deviations from vector-meson dominance found in these transition form factors.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures; references updated, version published in Phys. Vector meson ω\omega-ϕ\phi mixing and their form factors in light-cone quark model

The vector meson ω\omega-ϕ\phi mixing is studied in two alternative scenarios with different numbers of mixing angles, i.e., the one-mixing-angle scenario and the two-mixing-angle scenario, in both the octect-singlet mixing scheme and the quark flavor mixing scheme. Concerning the reproduction of experimental data and the Q2Q^2 behavior of transition form factors, one-mixing-angle scenario in the quark flavor scheme performs better than that in the octet-singlet scheme, while the two-mixing-angle scenario works well for both mixing schemes. The difference between the two mixing angles in the octet-singlet scheme is bigger than that in the quark flavor scheme.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, final version to appear in PR

Running mass of the rho0 meson's implication for the dilepton mass spectrum and the mu+mu-/e+e- branching ratio in the K+ --> pi+l+l- decays

We make an attempt to resolve the discrepancy of the observed e+e- mass spectrum in the K+ --> pi+e+e- decay with that predicted by meson dominance. To this end we investigate the properties of the rho0 propagator. We use dispersion relations to evaluate the running mass squared m_rho^2(t) of the rho0 resonance without adjustable parameters. To improve the convergence of the dispersion integral, the momentum dependence of strong vertices is taken from the flux-tube-breaking model of Kokoski and Isgur. The obtained behavior of m_rho^2(t) at small momentum squared t makes the K+ --> pi+e+e- form factor rise faster with increasing tt than in the original meson-dominance calculation and more in agreement with the published data. As a consequence, the meson-dominance prediction of the mu+mu-/e+e- branching ratio changes slightly, from 0.224 to 0.236. We do not see any possibility to accommodate into the meson-dominance approach an even steeper e+e- spectrum, indicated by the preliminary data of the E865 collaboration at BNL AGS.Comment: 13 pages, RevTeX, epsf.sty, 4 embedded figure

Electromagnetic Meson Form Factors in the Salpeter Model

We present a covariant scheme to calculate mesonic transitions in the framework of the Salpeter equation for qqˉq\bar{q}-states. The full Bethe Salpeter amplitudes are reconstructed from equal time amplitudes which were obtained in a previous paper\cite{Mue} by solving the Salpeter equation for a confining plus an instanton induced interaction. This method is applied to calculate electromagnetic form factors and decay widths of low lying pseudoscalar and vector mesons including predictions for CEBAF experiments. We also describe the momentum transfer dependence for the processes π0,η,ηγγ\pi^0,\eta,\eta'\rightarrow\gamma\gamma^*.Comment: 22 pages including 10 figure

Search for f1(1285)π+ππ0f_1(1285) \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 decay with VES detector

The isospin violating decay f1(1285)π+ππ0f_1(1285)\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 has been studied at VES facility. This study is based at the statistics acquired in πBe\pi^- Be interactions at 27, 36.6 and 41 GeV/c in diffractive reaction πN(f1π)N\pi^- N \to (f_1 \pi^-) N. The f1(1285)π+ππ0f_1(1285) \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 decay is observed. The ratio of decay probabilities BR(f1(1285)π+ππ0)BR(f_1(1285) \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) to BR(f1(1285)ηπ+π)BR(ηγγ)BR(f_1(1285) \to \eta \pi^+\pi^-) \cdot BR(\eta \to \gamma\gamma) is 1.4\sim\:1.4%.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures, presented at XII Conference on Hadron Spectroscop

A review is presented of dilepton and real photon measurements in relativistic heavy ion collisions over a very broad energy range from the low energies of the BEVALAC up to the highest energies available at RHIC. The dileptons cover the invariant mass range \mll = 0 - 2.5 GeV/c2^2, i.e. the continuum at low and intermediate masses and the light vector mesons, ρ,ω,ϕ\rho, \omega, \phi. The review includes also measurements of the light vector mesons in elementary reactions.Comment: To be published in Landolt-Boernstein Volume 1-23A; 40 pages, 24 figures. Final version updated with small changes to the text, updated references and updated figure

Summary Motivation: Distribution of electrostatic potential around nucleotide sequences is one of fundamental characteristics of DNA contributing to its recognition by DNA-binding proteins. Analysis of electrostatic properties of natural DNAs had to await the development of appropriate calculation methods for long nucleotide sequences. A method recently proposed in our wor
