Prospects for Higgs properties measurements at future colliders

The LHC Run-1 was very successful and included the discovery of a new particle with mass of about 125 GeV compatible with the Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model. The prospects for Higgs physics at the high-luminosity LHC and at future colliders are presented. In particular, the ultimate precision attainable for the couplings measurements of the 125 GeV particle with elementary fermions and bosons is discussed along with prospects for self-coupling measurements, for the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the upgraded LHC.Comment: Talk presented CIPANP2015. 8 pages, 4 figure

The Flexible Wing Project: Advanced Tailoring Strategies for Laminated Composite Materials Final Report

Manufacturers are beginning to consider the possibilities of moving away from traditional composite material designs but need further evidence that aero-elastically tailored composite materials can: produce weight savings; introduce aerodynamic efficiency and reduce manufacturing time without incurring cost penalties. This research has developed advanced composite tailoring strategies using novel fibre reinforced architectures, with mechanical coupling properties that can be either maintained or tailored through a novel ply termination scheme to change the laminate thickness. Most importantly however, all designs possess immunity to thermal warping distortions; hence they can be manufactured to the desired shape using a high temperature curing system. The research results have been exploited by a leading Brazilian airframe manufacturer for preliminary design of a new aero-elastically tailored wing

Ponencia presentada a Session 9: Forma urbana y relaciones entre historia y proyecto: el medio ambiente como patrimonio / Urban form and relationships between design and history: environmental heritage, arquitecture and planningSão Paulo between the late 19th century and early 20th was one of the main destinations of immigrants, specially because of the needs of supplying a labor for coffee, something that didn't mean that the immigration was only restricted to rural areas. The city has hosted both migrants dissatisfied with their contracts on farms, as those who directly saw it as a final destination, as the case of Syrian-Lebanese. The article analyzes the presence of this colony and focus on the trajectory of one of his representatives, Rizkallah Jorge Tahan, this research intends to reconstruct the trajectory of this immigrant and analyze his interventions in the urban space of São Paulo
