Technology-Supported Storytelling (TSST) Strategy in Virtual World for Multicultural Education
Learning culture through stories is an effective way for multicultural education, since stories are one of the most powerful and personal ways that we learn about the world. Storytelling, the process of telling stories, is a form of communication and a universal expression of culture. With the development of technology, storytelling emerges out of diverse ways. This study explores the storytelling in virtual worlds for multicultural education, and devises a Technology-Supported storytelling (TSST) strategy by examining and considering the characteristics of virtual worlds which could be incorporated into the storytelling, and then uses this strategy to teach Korean culture to students with different culture background. With this innovative TSST strategy in virtual world, this study expects to provide a guide to practice for teaching multicultural in digital era
Simulation of thermal conductivity and heat transport in solids
Using molecular dynamics (MD) with classical interaction potentials we
present calculations of thermal conductivity and heat transport in crystals and
glasses. Inducing shock waves and heat pulses into the systems we study the
spreading of energy and temperature over the configurations. Phonon decay is
investigated by exciting single modes in the structures and monitoring the time
evolution of the amplitude using MD in a microcanonical ensemble. As examples,
crystalline and amorphous modifications of Selenium and are

Endogenous Parameter Time Series Estimation of the Ohlson Model: Linear and Nonlinear Analyses
This paper tests the empirical validity of the Ohlson (1995) model on a firm-level time series basis. The coefficients of the earnings dynamic and valuation equations are first estimated by OLS. Next, recognizing the nonlinear relationships among the parameters, each equation is estimated by nonlinear Least Squares. Lastly, the model is estimated as a restricted system by nonlinear Least Squares and nonlinear SUR. In all cases, parameters are endogenously estimated. Irrespective of the estimation method, the Ohlson model often yields inconsistent or insignificant parameter estimates. Nevertheless, point estimates of equity risk premia are similar to those obtained from alternative methodologies. Copyright Blackwell Publishers Ltd, 2003.
