    Most toxoplasmosis infections occur in the brain. Cerebral toxoplasmosis is a specially serious complication in patients with AIDS. Similarly to other opportunistic pathogens, Toxoplasma gondii causes rapidly progressive, and often fatal disease in immunosuppressed patients.
