How the institutional environment affects the banking sector: Evidence from BRICS
© 2018 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved. The BRICS countries are the largest economic bloc, and in many forecasts it is believed that the prospects for the growth of the world economy are related to their development (World Bank 2015, Randers 2012). On the one hand, the backwardness of the banking systems of the BRICS countries may be a factor in the financial vulnerability of countries in the future; on the other hand, the creation of institutional conditions for the effective functioning of the banking system is a potential source of economic growth in the BRICS countries. In this article the institutional environment of the banking system of the BRICS countries are analyzed. There is exploration of the key statistical characteristics of the banking sector, the main trends in its development. The institutional structure of the banking system is represented by external and internal institutions. The main aspect of the study is to reveal the characteristics of the external institutional environment. The purpose of our study is to test the following hypothesis: factors of the external institutional environment affect the banking system. The subject of the study is the BRICS countries banking system. The period of study: 2004 - 2015. We selected three characteristics: the degree of development of the banking system, the stability and efficiency of the banking system. We used the construction of econometric models to test the hypothesis. The findings of the investigation have distinguished the main characteristics of the external institutional environment that have an impact on the banking sector and determine its effectiveness: the size of the public sector and the degree of state intervention in the economy; tax freedom; freedom of doing business; historical and political characteristics; investment and monetary freedom
Effect of digitalization on unemployment among the elderly population in EAEU countries
Objective: to identify current trends in the labor market under digitalization and the growing risks and global instability in the world and national markets in the EAEU countries. Methods: panel data analysis models, graphical method, least squares method, generalized feasible least squares method. Results: the data of the EAEU countries from 2016 to 2020 show the synchronization of unemployment indicators; a slight increase in the share of unemployed aged 55 and older in all countries except Russia; a decrease in value added produced within the “Information and Communication” type of activity, with the exception of Kazakhstan; during the pandemic, a decrease in the integral indicator of unemployment and the number of unemployed aged 55 and older was found under the influence of the gross value added within the “Information and Communication” type of activity, as well as a decrease in unemployment among elder citizens under the influence of the share of the population using the Internet.Scientific novelty: the current trends of unemployment are reflected, under digitalization and the growing risks and global instability in the world and national markets in the EAEU countries.Practical significance: the main conclusions of the article can be an argument in favor of the competitive advantages of the older population in the labor market under digitalization and uncertainty of economy

Estimation of several antidepressants using an amperometric biosensor based on immobilized monoamine oxidase
An amperometric biosensor was developed on the basis of a printed platinum electrode and immobilized monoamine oxidase for detecting antidepressants of various classes. The analytical potential of the electrode was assessed: Petylyl (desipramine) and pyrazidol could be estimated from lower detection limits of 8 × 109 M for Petylyl and 8 × 107 M for pyrazidol. A method for estimating pyrazidol in tablets is described. © 2007 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc
An amperometric monoamine oxidase biosensor for determining some antidepressants
An amperometric biosensor based on a platinum screen-printed electrode and immobilized monoamine oxidase is developed to determine antidepressants of different classes. Petylyl, pyrazidol, and flu-oxetine can be determined with determination limits of 8 × 10-9, 8 × 10-7, and 8 × 10-10 M, respectively. A procedure is proposed for determining fluoxetine in tablets. It is shown that petylyl can be selectively determined by an immunochemical technique using the developed biosensor and immobilized antibodies in the concentration range from 1 × 10-4 to 1 × 10-8 M. © 2007 MAIK Nauka
The nematode fauna of the digestive tract of goats in the Moscow region
The purpose of the research is to study the fauna of gastrointestinal nematodes of goats in the Moscow region. Materials and methods. The studies were carried out from December 2022 to April 2023. The object for the studies was the contents of the digestive tracts of 10 goats from small farms in the Moscow region, which were collected and fixed according to the method of K. I. Skryabin (1928). The species of detected nematodes were identified according to V. M. Ivashkin et al. (1989). A study of fecal samples was carried out, the genus of infective larvae was determined by the method of P. A. Polyakov (1953). Results and discussion. Three species of nematodes were detected: Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus colubriformis and Teladorsagia circumcincta according to the results of helminthological necropsies of goats. The highest rate of infection was noted for H. contortus and the highest intensity of infection was noted for T. colubriformis. The nematode T. circumcincta was found only in one of 10 studied goats, in the amount of 13 worms. The larvae of Trichostrongylus, Oesophagostomum and Chabertia genera were identified according to their morphology in the examined feces samples in one of the seven farms. Many larvae of the first two genera were found, and Сhabertia larvae were single. The low species diversity noted in this study may be due to the presence of anthelmintic-resistant nematode strains
Capabilities of amperometric monoamine oxidase biosensors based on screen-printed graphite electrodes modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes in the determination of some antidepressants
© 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. Amperometric biosensors based on planar screen-printed graphite electrodes modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and immobilized monoamine oxidase enzyme (MAO) have been proposed for the determination of antidepressants (imipramine, afobazole, and phenazepam). The operation of the proposed biosensors is based on the inhibiting ability of antidepressants. The analytical capabilities of the proposed devices have been compared to those of biosensors based on the electrodes unmodified with MWCNTs. The proposed biosensors can be used for the control of both residual amounts of drug substances in biological fluids (urine) and the active ingredient in dosage forms
Assay of nitrofuran drugs using an amperometric monoamine oxidase biosensor
A method for assaying nitrofuran drugs (furazolidone, furadonine, and furagin) using an amperometric biosensor based on a printed platinum electrode and immobilized monoamine oxidase was developed for analysis of medicinal formulations and urine. Nitrofuran derivatives were found to have inhibitory actions, albeit weaker than those of classical tricyclic antidepressants, on the catalytic activity of monoamine oxidase. This side-effect inhibitory action allowed assay of furazolidone, furadonine, and furagin with lower detection limits, which were 8.3 × 10-9, 8.5 × 10-8, and 9.4 × 10-10 M respectively. The results obtained here show that this side effect of furazolidone, furadonine, and furagin must be taken into consideration when these agents are prescribed to patients. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc
Determination of Antidepressants Using Monoamine Oxidase Amperometric Biosensors Based on Screen-Printed Graphite Electrodes Modified with Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes
© 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York. Novel amperometric biosensors based on screen-printed graphite electrodes modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) dispersed in various solvents (chitosan, DMF) and immobilized monoamine oxidase (MAO) were developed for the determination of the antidepressants imipramine and afobazole. It was found that afobazole and imipramine inhibited MAO, which allowed these pharmaceuticals to be determined within the concentration range from 0.1 mM to 1 nM by recording the H2O2 oxidation wave when dopamine and epinephrine were used as MAO substrates. The best analytical performance was observed for MAO biosensors modified by MWCNTs in chitosan solution, for which the lower detection limit was 3 – 9 nM. The main active ingredients in melipramine and afobazole preparations were quantified with an RSD of 0.08 using the MAO-based amperometric biosensors
