    The aim of this research to find out the egg hatchability of turtle produced from incubation different temperatures. This research used 48 eggs of turtle and were divided into 2 groups of temperature treatments, those were high temperature (300C-330C) and low temperature (240C-270C) which were incubated for ± 2 months and the observation was done after the hatching of those eggs. The data obtained from the observation were analyzed descriptively.The result of the research showed that the egg hatchability of turtle that were incubated in high temperature (300C-330C) was 70,83% and low temperature (240C-270C) was 66,67%. The result can be concluded that the higher egg hatchability of turtle are incubated at high temperatures than at low temperatures

    Molecular identification and anticancer activity of alkylphenol from cashew nut shell oil (Anacardium occidentale) grown In Timor Island

    Isolation of anacardic acid and cardanol from cashew nut shell liquid and their cytotoxic activity to on ward HeLa cancer cell line has been done. The objective of this research is to isolate and identify anacardic acid and cardanol from CNSL along with their cytototoxic activity towards HeLa cancer cell lines. Anacardic acid was isolated as calcium anacardate. Hydrolisis of this acid with acid chloride yields anacardic acid . Liquor ammonia was added to the acid-free CNSL and extracted with hexane/ethyl acetate (98:2) to isolate cardanol and with ethyl acetate/hexane (80:20) to separate cardol. Cardanol was obtained as the main chemical component of CNSL derived from Kupang district. Anacardic acid and cardanol was analyzed using IR and GC-MS. Anticancer activity of chemical components of CNSL against HeLa cancer cell lines were studied using MTT. Cytotoxic activity test showed that CNSL, anacardic acid and cardanol can be developed as anticancer agent.Key words : CNSL, anacardic acid, cardanol, anticancer

    KARAKTERISTIK FISIK PANTAI DAN DISTRIBUSI SARANG ALAMIPENYU LEKANG (Lepidochelys olivacea) DI PANTAI SOSADALE ROTE-NDAO NUSA TENGGARA TIMUR

    Kajian tentang karakteristik dan distribusi sarang alami penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea) di Pantai Sosadale Rote-Ndao, Nusa Tengara Timurdilakukan dari bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2019. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei untuk penetuan 5 stasiun pengamatan dan dilanjutkan dengan pengukuran karakteristik pantai peneluran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh jumlah sarang alami penyu lekang berturut-turut dari stasiun pengamatan 1-5, sebanyak 0, 3, 3, 6, 6 unit sarang. Hasil pengukuran karakteritik fisik pantai stasiun 1 berbatu, 2 dan 3 sedikit berbatu, 4 dan 5 pasir. Beberapa karakteristik fisik pantai Sosadale,yaitu rata-rata kemiringan 11o, lebar pantai 39,5m, panjang pantai 500m. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran karakteristik sarang alami diameter sarang 16,1cm ± 9,3cm, suhu sarang 21,98o ± 12,3o, kedalaman sarang 26,2 cm ± 14,6cm, kelembapan sarang 26,5% ± 14,8%, dan jarak kevegetasi 1,34m ± 0,7 m, maka disimpulkan bahwa habitat peneluran di Pantai Sosadale Rote-Ndao sangat sesuai untuk peletakan telur dan inkubasi telur penyu Lekang
