    Assuming the existence of right-handed neutrinos, we consider an electroweak model based on the gauge symmetry SU(4)L⊗U(1)NSU(4)_L\otimes U(1)_N. We study the neutral currents coupled to all neutral vector bosons present in the theory.     Single Z' production at CLIC based on e^- gamma collisions

    We analyze the potential of CLIC based on e- gamma collisions to search for new Z′Z' gauge boson. Single Z' production at e-gamma colliders in two SU(3)_C X SU(3)_L X U(1)_N models: the minimal model and the model with right-handed (RH) neutrinos is studied in detail. Results show that new Z' gauge bosons can be observed at the CLIC, and the cross sections in the model with RH neutrinos are bigger than those in the minimal one.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, To appear in JET

    New Probable Dwarf Galaxies in Northern Groups of the Local Supercluster

    We have searched for nearby dwarf galaxies in 27 northern groups with characteristic distances 8-15 Mpc based on the Second Palomar Sky Survey prints. In a total area of about 2000 square degrees, we have found 90 low-surface-brightness objects, more than 60% of which are absent from known catalogs and lists. We have classified most of these objects (~80%) as irregular dwarf systems. The first 21-cm line observations of the new objects with the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope showed that the typical linear diameters (1-2 kpc), internal motions (30 km/s), and hydrogen masses (~2*10^7M_sun) galaxies correspond to those expected for the dwarf population of nearby groups.Comment: 8 pages, 1 fugur

    Bilepton contributions to the neutrinoless double beta decay in the economical 3-3-1 model

    Possible contributions of the bilepton to the neutrinoless double beta (ββ)0ν(\beta\beta)_{0\nu} decay in the economical 3-3-1 model are discussed. We show that the (ββ)0ν(\beta\beta)_{0\nu} decay in this model is due to both sources--Majorana L_{L} and Dirac D_{D} neutrino masses. If the mixing angle between charged gauge bosons, the standard model WW and bilepton YY, is in range of the ratio of neutrino masses L/<Mν>D_{L}/< M_{\nu}>_{D}, both the Majorana and Dirac masses simultaneously give contributions dominant to the decay. As results, constraints on the bilepton mass are also given.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figure

    Polymorphisms of pro-inflammatory IL-6 and IL-1\u3b2 cytokines in ascending aortic aneurysms as genetic modifiers and predictive and prognostic biomarkers

    Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that polymorphisms involved in immune genes can affect the risk, pathogenesis, and outcome of thoracic ascending aortic aneurysms (TAAA). Here, we explored the potential associations of five functional promoter polymorphisms in interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1B, IL-1A, IL-18, and Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)A genes with TAAA. Methods: 144 TAAA patients and 150 age/gender matched controls were typed using KASPar assays. Effects on telomere length and levels of TAAA related histopathological and serological markers were analyzed. Results: Significant associations with TAAA risk were obtained for IL-6 rs1800795G&gt;C and IL-1B rs16944C&gt;T SNPs. In addition, the combined rs1800795C/rs16944T genotype showed a synergic effect on TAAA pathogenesis and outcome. The combined rs1800795C/rs16944T genotype was significantly associated with: (a) higher serum levels of both cytokines and MMP-9 and-2; (b) a significant CD3+CD4+CD8+ CD68+CD20+ cell infiltration in aorta aneurysm tissues; (c) a significant shorter telomere length and alterations in telomerase activity. Finally, it significantly correlated with TAAA aorta tissue alterations, including elastic fragmentation, medial cell apoptosis, cystic medial changes, and MMP-9 levels. Conclusions: the combined rs1800795C/rs16944T genotype appears to modulate TAAA risk, pathogenesis, and outcome, and consequently can represent a potential predictive and prognostic TAAA biomarker for individual management, implementation of innovative treatments, and selection of the more proper surgical timing and approaches
