Szczegółowej ocenie poddano m.in. funkcjonalność sklepów, promocję witryny oraz asortyment. Najlepiej ocenionym elementem była funkcjonalność sklepów.The online sale of food, also of organic food, is not very popular in Poland. The factors that will probably influence the development of the sale form, is the systematically growing number of people who have access to the Internet, the dynamic growth of the computer technology and traditional trade changes. The purpose of the work was to evaluate the web pages of the organic food stores. The independent research was conducted in 2010, with the method of observation. The stores, whose names were shown after entering in ww.google.pl the key words: „organic food”, have been chosen to the research. The functionality of the stores, promotion and assortment. The element that has been held in the highest esteem, was the functionality of the stores

    Iron in cattle health

Iron is one of the most abundant elements on Earth, a vital component of every living organism, and an essential micronutrient for all animal species. The primary source of iron for calves and other new-born ruminants is milk or a milk replacer, while for adults it is forage. Drinking water can contain various amounts of Fe ions and can be a source of this element as well. Systemic iron homeostasis in vertebrates is mostly regulated by hepcidin (HEP), a peptide synthesized and secreted by hepatocytes. The largest amounts of iron in the body are incorporated into proteins, mainly haemoglobin and myoglobin. This element participates in several biochemical processes including blood production, transport of oxygen, energy metabolism and immune processes. Iron deficiency can result in so-called iron deficiency anaemia, mostly occurring in young calves due to low iron content in cow’s milk and high demand for this element by calf’s organism. Iron poisoning mostly occurs due to excess iron intake caused by an inappropriate dose of iron given to animals (injection or per os administration) or accidental consumption of high doses of supplements. Excess iron intake can cause overload and damage of internal organs. Oxidation of ferrous iron in haemoglobin can result in methemoglobinemia and an inability of erythrocytes to carry oxygen. In recent years, scientists have implicated some questions regarding iron and ruminants that need re-evaluation or further investigation, e.g. the upper tolerable concentration of Fe in drinking water, the relationship between inflammation and iron status, serum Fe as an indicator of inflammation, or ferritin as a predictive factor for iron deficiency anaemia in cattle

Molecularly Imprinted Polymer-based Materials for Quantifying Pharmaceuticals

Synthetic polymers possessing cavities designed for a target analyte (named molecularly imprinted polymers, MIPs) are used for the development of various analytical procedures. MIPs are used in the different steps of the methods including extraction and cleanup of analytes, as well as analysis of matrix effects. Basically, the analytes adsorbed by appropriate imprinted polymers in off-line or in on-line systems are eluted and detected directly using different analytical techniques or in combination with other separation techniques or sensors. Many procedures dealing with MIPs have been successfully elaborated and extensively reviewed. This chapter focuses on the commercially available MIP sorbents and the patented MIPs dedicated to the determination of pharmaceuticals. Additionally, some details of analytical procedures are presented for the isolation of pharmaceuticals from complex matrices.</jats:p

The purpose of examination was to evaluate the range of mobility of spine in a group of 47 persons, aged from 13 to 15, by using of Posturometr-S. The obtained results have not shown statistically substantial dependence between the mobility of lumbar and thoracic section of the backbone and rotation, as well as the lowering of the pelvis and shortening of bottom limb. Posturometr-S has turned out to be a device, having wide application at the evaluation and measurement of body posture
