ANALISIS BIAYA PANEN DAN PASCA PANEN CENGKEH DI DESA KAWENG KECAMATAN KAKAS KABUPATEN MINAHASA
This study aims to analyze the cost of harvest and post-harvest cloves. This research was conducted in Kaweng Village Kakas Subdistrict of Minahasa Regency and lasted from July until September 2016. The research method used in this research is survey method. Data collection method in this research is by using primary data and secondary data. Sampling method is by using simple random sampling method. The data analysis used is the data collected tabulated by using cost analysis. The results of this study was that each harvest activity costs vary, it is issued in accordance with the needs of farmers to support harvest and post-harvest activities for 2-3 months during the 1st harvest and post harvest period. The largest average is at the cost of picking of Rp.222.352.500. Each production was influenced by variable costs and fixed costs at one time of production at the price of the cloves present at harvest, where the variable cost amounts to Rp.360.243.500 and fixed costs Rp.1.866.000 in production amount of 8.677 kg with an average price of Rp.106.050 per kg.*jnkd*
Recovering 3D structural properties of galaxies from SDSS-like photometry
Because of the 3D nature of galaxies, an algorithm for constructing spatial
density distribution models of galaxies on the basis of galaxy images has many
advantages over surface density distribution approximations. We present a
method for deriving spatial structure and overall parameters of galaxies from
images and estimate its accuracy and derived parameter degeneracies on a sample
of idealised model galaxies. The test galaxies consist of a disc-like component
and a spheroidal component with varying proportions and properties. Both
components are assumed to be axially symmetric and coplanar. We simulate these
test galaxies as if observed in the SDSS project through ugriz filters, thus
gaining a set of realistically imperfect images of galaxies with known
intrinsic properties. These artificial SDSS galaxies were thereafter remodelled
by approximating the surface brightness distribution with a 2D projection of a
bulge+disc spatial distribution model and the restored parameters were compared
to the initial ones. Down to the r-band limiting magnitude 18, errors of the
restored integral luminosities and colour indices remain within 0.05 mag and
errors of the luminosities of individual components within 0.2 mag. Accuracy of
the restored bulge-to-disc ratios (B/D) is within 40% in most cases, and
becomes worse for galaxies with low B/D, but the general balance between bulges
and discs is not shifted systematically. Assuming that the intrinsic disc axial
ratio is < 0.3, the inclination angles can be estimated with errors < 5deg for
most of the galaxies with B/D < 2 and with errors < 15deg up to B/D = 6. Errors
of the recovered sizes of the galactic components are below 10% in most cases.
In general, models of disc components are more accurate than models of

Graph Regionalization with Clustering and Partitioning: an Application for Daily Commuting Flows in Albania
The paper presents an original application of the recently proposed spatial data mining
method named GraphRECAP on daily commuting flows using 2011 Albanian census data.
Its aim is to identify several clusters of Albanian municipalities/communes; propose a
classification of the Albanian territory based on daily commuting flows among
municipalities/communes. Starting from 373 local units, we first applied a spatial
clustering technique without imposing any constraining strategy. Based on the input
variables, we obtained 16 clusters. In the second step of our analysis, we impose a set of
constraining parameters to identify intermediate areas between the local level
(municipality/commune) and the national one. We have defined 12 derived regions (same
number as the actual Albanian prefectures but with different geographies). These derived
regions are quite different from the traditional ones in terms of both geographical
dimensions and boundarie

Terahertz emission from the intrinsic Josephson junctions of high-symmetry thermally-managed Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+ÎŽ microstrip antennas
We show for high-symmetry disk, square, or equilateral triangular thin microstrip antennas of any composition respectively obeying Câv, C4v, and C3v point group symmetries, that the transverse magnetic electromagnetic cavity mode wave functions are restricted in form to those that are one-dimensional representations of those point groups. Plots of the common nodal points of the ten lowest-energy non-radiating two-dimensional representations of each of these three symmetries are presented. For comparison with symmetry-broken disk intrinsic Josephson junction microstrip antennas constructed from the highly anisotropic layered superconductor Bi2 Sr2 CaCu2 O8+ÎŽ (BSCCO), we present plots of the ten lowest frequency orthonormal wave functions and of their emission power angular distributions. These results are compared with previous results for square and equilateral triangular thin microstrip antennas
Acceptability of Male Circumcision for the Prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Dominican Republic
Male circumcision (MC) is an effective strategy to prevent HIV infection in heterosexual men. To our knowledge, there are no studies of the acceptability of this procedure in the Dominican Republic (DR). The main objective of this study was to assess the acceptability of MC to prevent HIV transmission among men ages 18 to 50 years in the Altagracia Province in the Dominican Republic. Because differences in culture and beliefs between Haitians and Dominicans could potentially influence their acceptability of MC, we conducted a comparative analysis based on national origin.A survey was administered to a convenience sample of 368 men. The questionnaire was divided in 3 sections: 1) Background demographics (including national origin), 2) Male circumcision and 3) Sexual health. Stratified and logistic multivariate regression analyses were performed to identify factors associated with the acceptability of MC.The sample consisted of 238 (65%) Dominicans and 130 (35%) Haitian immigrants. Almost all participants were uncircumcised (95%) and about half (52%) were single. The overall acceptability of MC was 29%. The number of men willing to be circumcised increased to 67% after an information session explaining the benefits of the procedure. 74% of men reported that they would be willing to circumcise their sons after hearing that information. In multivariate analysis, Haitian nationality (OR=1.86, 95% CI 1.01-3.41), knowing that circumcision improves hygiene (OR=2.78, 95% CI 1.29-6.0) and not believing that circumcision decreases sexual pleasure (OR=2.18, 95% CI 1.20-3.94) were associated with a higher acceptability of the procedure. Although age was not significantly associated with the willingness to be circumcised in the multivariate analysis, stratified analysis based on national origin suggested that younger Dominicans (<30 years of age) are more likely to accept the procedure when compared to their older counterparts (OR=2.17, 95% CI 1.14-4.12).An important number of sexually active men in the DR may be willing to be circumcised if educational resources detailing the benefits of the procedure are made available. These educational activities would constitute a great opportunity to teach about sexual health and reinforce safe sex practices
Lethality and centrality in protein networks
In this paper we present the first mathematical analysis of the protein
interaction network found in the yeast, S. cerevisiae. We show that, (a) the
identified protein network display a characteristic scale-free topology that
demonstrate striking similarity to the inherent organization of metabolic
networks in particular, and to that of robust and error-tolerant networks in
general. (b) the likelihood that deletion of an individual gene product will
prove lethal for the yeast cell clearly correlates with the number of
interactions the protein has, meaning that highly-connected proteins are more
likely to prove essential than proteins with low number of links to other
proteins. These results suggest that a scale-free architecture is a generic
property of cellular networks attributable to universal self-organizing
principles of robust and error-tolerant networks and that will likely to

Periodic Emission from the Gamma-ray Binary 1FGL J1018.6-5856
Gamma-ray binaries are stellar systems containing a neutron star or black
hole with gamma-ray emission produced by an interaction between the components.
These systems are rare, even though binary evolution models predict dozens in
our Galaxy. A search for gamma-ray binaries with the Fermi Large Area Telescope
(LAT) shows that 1FGL J1018.6-5856 exhibits intensity and spectral modulation
with a 16.6 day period. We identified a variable X-ray counterpart, which shows
a sharp maximum coinciding with maximum gamma-ray emission, as well as an
O6V((f)) star optical counterpart and a radio counterpart that is also
apparently modulated on the orbital period. 1FGL J1018.6-5856 is thus a
gamma-ray binary, and its detection suggests the presence of other fainter

Climatic and cultural changes in the west Congo Basin forests over the past 5000 years
Central Africa includes the world's second largest rainforest block. The ecology of the region remains poorly understood, as does its vegetation and archaeological history. However, over the past 20 years, multidisciplinary scientific programmes have enhanced knowledge of old human presence and palaeoenvironments in the forestry block of Central Africa. This first regional synthesis documents significant cultural changes over the past five millennia and describes how they are linked to climate. It is now well documented that climatic conditions in the African tropics underwent significant changes throughout this period and here we demonstrate that corresponding shifts in human demography have had a strong influence on the forests. The most influential event was the decline of the strong African monsoon in the Late Holocene, resulting in serious disturbance of the forest block around 3500 BP. During the same period, populations from the north settled in the forest zone; they mastered new technologies such as pottery and fabrication of polished stone tools, and seem to have practised agriculture. The opening up of forests from 2500 BP favoured the arrival of metallurgist populations that impacted the forest. During this long period (2500â1400 BP), a remarkable increase of archaeological sites is an indication of a demographic explosion of metallurgist populations. Paradoxically, we have found evidence of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) cultivation in the forest around 2200 BP, implying a more arid context. While Early Iron Age sites (prior to 1400 BP) and recent pre-colonial sites (two to eight centuries BP) are abundant, the period between 1600 and 1000 BP is characterized by a sharp decrease in human settlements, with a population crash between 1300 and 1000 BP over a large part of Central Africa. It is only in the eleventh century that new populations of metallurgists settled into the forest block. In this paper, we analyse the spatial and temporal distribution of 328 archaeological sites that have been reliably radiocarbon dated. The results allow us to piece together changes in the relationships between human populations and the environments in which they lived. On this basis, we discuss interactions between humans, climate and vegetation during the past five millennia and the implications of the absence of people from the landscape over three centuries. We go on to discuss modern vegetation patterns and African forest conservation in the light of these events.Peer reviewe
Blogging the Virtual: New Geographies of Domination and Resistance In and Beyond Russia
Russiaâs accelerating authoritarian turn has not ignored the internet, and in recent years, the Russian state has clamped down on internet activities that diverge from the statist line, employing a variety of strategies to dominate online spaces. Nevertheless, oppositional voices flourish on the Russian internet, taking shape in independent blogs and videos. This paper explores three political bloggers through surveillant and resistance assemblages, making sense of this contestation through an interpretation of the Deleuzian virtual that underscores the emancipatory potential of online activities for producing more egalitarian configurations, but also taking stock of the ways that these technologies have increased domination. Encompassing the blurriness between digital and corporeal spaces, the paper contributes by revealing new geographies of contestation against state strategies to dominate the Russian internet. Overlapping with but not corresponding to Russian territorial boundaries, these dynamics highlight shifting spaces of power and resistance in the increasingly illiberal world
Identifying Hubs in Protein Interaction Networks
In spite of the scale-free degree distribution that characterizes most protein interaction networks (PINs), it is common to define an ad hoc degree scale that defines "hub" proteins having special topological and functional significance. This raises the concern that some conclusions on the functional significance of proteins based on network properties may not be robust.In this paper we present three objective methods to define hub proteins in PINs: one is a purely topological method and two others are based on gene expression and function. By applying these methods to four distinct PINs, we examine the extent of agreement among these methods and implications of these results on network construction.We find that the methods agree well for networks that contain a balance between error-free and unbiased interactions, indicating that the hub concept is meaningful for such networks
