Effect of Volume Fraction on Particle Size Distribution in Alumina based Nanofluids

    No full text
Nanofluids are defined as the dispersed of solid nanoparticles (metal or metal oxide) in the fluid. In practical applications, nanoparticles agglomerate in nanofluid to form aggregates. In the present study, the effect of volume fraction on average particle size of Al2O3/DW/EG nanofluids was investigated by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). The study concluded that there is near-linear relationship between particle size and volume fraction. The results show that towards lower concentration, particle agglomeration is more, resulting in large particle size and vice-versa
