Performance and egg quality of Embrapa 051 laying hens subjected to different feeding programs
This study aimed to evaluate the productive performance and egg quality of Embrapa 051 lineage laying hens compared to a commercial line (Lohmann Brown) when subjected to different feeding programs. Trial consisted of a randomized complete block design, with four treatments: T1 - Lohmann Brown Line receiving 100% basal diet; T2 - Embrapa 051 Line receiving 93% basal diet; T3 - Embrapa 051 line receiving 100% basal diet; and T4 - Embrapa 051 lineage receiving 107% basal diet. The treatments had five replicates each. The basal diet was that recommended by the Lohmann Brown line manual. Variables of bird performance (egg weight, egg production rate, feed conversion per dozen eggs, energy conversion and egg mass) were analyzed, as well as internal egg quality (Haugh unit, yolk color, yolk percentage, and albumen percentage) and external egg quality (specific gravity, shell percentage, and shell thickness). All performance variables presented significant differences (P <0.05) in the three evaluated cycles, comparing lineages. Egg produced by the Embrapa 051 line had the highest percentages of yolk and those of the Lohmann Brown line had the highest percentage of albumen. In conclusion, Embrapa 051 lineage has the potential to produce good quality eggs, as long as it receives the same feeding program of the genetically established lineage
VIOLÊNCIA DE GÊNERO NO SERIADO MARVEL´S JESSICA JONES: CONTRIBUIÇÕES DA MÍDIA E DA CULTURA POP NO COMBATE DA VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA AS MULHERES
O trabalho objetivou analisar como um dispositivo midiático e de cultura popular, o seriado Marvel´s Jéssica Jones, aborda a violência de gênero e como pode contribuir com o debate sobre a temática. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, exploratório-descritivo a partir de análise de imagens e discursos. Destacaram-se alguns temas: transtorno do estresse pós-traumático, estereótipos de gênero e a relevância da sororidade feminina. A abordagem dada à violência contra a mulher no seriado oportunizou a discussão de temas relevantes, mostrando-se como um dispositivo midiático de alcance abrangente, cooperando na formação de opiniões a respeito dos papéis das mulheres na sociedade e na prevenção e enfrentamento da violência
Orientações de profissionais da saúde sobre aleitamento materno: o olhar das puérperas
Objective: this work aims to know the perceptions of puerperal women in what concerns breastfeeding orientation received by professionals. Methods: qualitative descriptive research, conducted from June to August 2014. The participants were puerperal women who had given birth. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and was analyzed using the Analysis of Minayo. The ethics committee on research approved the study. Results: orientation about breastfeeding was understood as a teaching method between women and professionals, suggesting that information is transmitted. The orientation sessions are usually performed in a technical way, and are focused on health problems rather than the actual women’s needs. Conclusion: the way guidelines on breastfeeding are conducted are not effectively contributing to health education, it does not allow the participation of women and the context of their experiences. It is necessary to work with education in participatory health and enable the joint construction of significant knowledge on breastfeeding
A cultura do nascimento como evento biomédico e a violência obstétrica: vivências e resistências
Este artigo propõe-se conhecer as informações recebidas por mulheres durante o período gravídico-puerperal que reforçam a cultura do nascimento como um evento biomédico e que possibilitam a perpetuação da violência obstétrica. Colaboraram seis mulheres, as quais foram entrevistadas em seu domicílio, sendo suas falas gravadas e transcritas. Utilizou-se a análise temática de Minayo. As informações foram organizadas na categoria: “Público versus privado: percepções sobre os serviços de saúde”. Os relatos trouxeram elementos culturais que influenciaram as vivências das participantes, fossem como protetivos e de resistência aos maus-tratos. Concluiu-se que a vivência de gestar e parir parece sofrer influência dependendo da instituição e dos profissionais que participaram das trajetórias destas mulheres. O setor privado pareceu estar mais propenso a intervir nas experiências de parto, aumentando as intervenções e a atuação médica e diminuindo a autonomia das mulheres, enquanto o setor público, apesar de dificuldades na mudança de paradigmas, apresentou-se menos intervencionista e com maior potencial para mudanças
Percepção das gestantes sobre as consultas de pré-natal realizadas pelo enfermeiro na atenção básica
Objective: to understand the perception of pregnant women about the consultations of prenatal care performed by nurses in primary health care units. Methods: this is a qualitative and descriptive study carried out in family health units of Porto Alegre. Semi-structured interviews with the following questions were asked: "What do you think of the consultation carried out by the health unit nurse at your prenatal care?", and "How did you feel during the consultation?" The data collected in the interviews were analyzed accordingly to Minayo’s. Results: six interviews in total were conducted, five of them with pregnant and postpartum women with in four units, and listed four thematic categories of analysis. Resoluteness of nursing consultations during the prenatal, and the importance of care and health education was perceived. Conclusions: technical care coupled with the reception, communication and health promotion provide comprehensive care, combining the dimensions recommended, monitoring pregnancy by the nurse
Moodle-folio para la enseñanza en salud y enfermería : evaluación del proceso educacional
A educação a distância organizada a partir de ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem tem se constituído com uma realidade em expansão na formação de profissionais de saúde no Brasil. Nesta perspectiva, a Universidade de Brasília vem utilizando uma proposta pedagógica inovadora. Dessa maneira, o presente estudo de caso descreveu o uso de um portfólio eletrônico nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem utilizados em duas disciplinas de graduação e em uma de pós-graduação. Foram coletados dados a partir da observação direta e registro das disciplinas e das respostas de 270 alunos a um questionário. Os resultados indicaram um significativo grau de satisfação dos estudantes sobre o design instrucional usado, assim como o caráter inovador da proposta. Portanto, o uso do referido portfólio foi considerado satisfatório quanto aos aspectos capazes de apoiar o processo ensino-aprendizagem a distância na área da saúde. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTDistance education organized by means of virtual learning environments is a current reality in the expansion of the education of health professionals in Brazil. In this perspective, The University of Brasília has been using an innovative educational proposal. Therefore, the present case study describes the utilization of an electronic portfolio in the teaching and learning process of two undergraduate and one graduate classes. Data were collected based on direct observation of the classes and on the answers to a questionnaire completed by 270 students. The results showed a significant level of satisfaction among the students regarding the instructional design in use, as well as the innovative character of the proposal. Therefore, the use of the portfolio was considered satisfactory in terms of supporting the teaching-learning process in distance education within the healthcare field. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ RESUMENLa educación a distancia organizada desde ámbitos virtuales de aprendizaje se ha constituido en una realidad en expansión en la formación de profesionales de salud en Brasil. El presente estudio de caso describió el uso de un portfolio electrónico en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje utilizados en dos disciplinas de grado y en una de posgrado. Datos recolectados mediante observación directa y registro de las disciplinas y de las respuestas de 270 alumnos a un cuestionario. Los resultados indican un significativo grado de satisfacción de los estudiantes sobre el diseño de instrucción utilizado, así como el carácter innovador de la propuesta. Consecuentemente, el uso del referido portfolio fue considerado satisfactorio en cuanto a los aspectos capaces de apoyar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje a distancia en el área de la salud
Impact of COVID-19 on Tuberculosis Indicators in Brazil: A Time Series and Spatial Analysis Study
We aimed to visualize and classify the time series of COVID-19, tuberculosis (TB) notification, and TB outcomes (cure, treatment abandonment, and death), verify the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic on these indices in Brazil, and verify the presence of spatial autocorrelation between COVID-19 and TB. Methods: This was an ecological time series study that
considered TB and COVID-19 cases. Seasonal Trend Decomposition using Loess (STL) was used to trace the temporal trend, Prais–Winsten was used to classify the temporal trend, Interrupted Time Series (ITS) was used to verify the impact of COVID-19 on TB rates, and the Bivariate Moran Index (Global and Local) was used to verify the spatial autocorrelation of events. Results: Brazil
and its macro-regions showed an increasing temporal trend for the notification of TB in the prepandemic period. Only the Northeast Region showed a decreasing temporal trend for cured cases. For treatment abandonment, all regions except for the Northeast showed an increasing temporal trend, and regarding death, Brazil and the Northeast Region showed an increasing temporal trend. With the ITS, COVID-19 caused a decline in TB notification rates and TB outcome rates. With the global spatial analysis, it was possible to identify the existence of spatial autocorrelation between the notification rate of COVID-19 and the TB notification rate and deaths. With the local analysis, it was possible to map the Brazilian municipalities and classify them according to the relationship between the rates of both diseases and space. Conclusions: COVID-19 influenced the follow-up of and adherence to TB treatment and intensified social vulnerability and, consequently, affected the notification of TB since the relationship between the disease and social determinants of health is already known. detection of cases and treatment of TB in endemic environments such as Brazil have been oriented as a priority in the global health agenda
