Percutaneous Management of a Bronchobiliary Fistula after Radiofrequency Ablation in a Patient with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

    Get PDF
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure for the treatment of hepatic tumors. While RFA is associated with relatively low morbidity, sporadic bronchobiliary fistulae due to thermal damage may occur after RFA, although the incidence is rare. We describe a patient with a bronchobiliary fistula complicated by a liver abscess that occurred after RFA. This fistula was obliterated after placement of an external drainage catheter into the liver abscess for eight weeks

UARS MLS O3 soundings compared with lidar measurements using the conservative coordinates reconstruction technique

A technique based on conservative properties of certain meteorological fields is used to compare ozone measurements from the Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) on the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) with soundings from a lidar system operated at midlatitudes by the University of L'Aquila, Italy. A few typical cases are analyzed in connection with the position of the vortex relative to the observing station, and it is shown that in general lidar observations taken within the vortex compare well with the UARS data, regardless of whether they are coincident with a satellite overpass. It is shown that such analysis may be useful for comparing measurements of the same quantity taken at different sites using different measurement techniques.NASA, INGPublished1535-15381.8. NDSC Intercomparison of Stratospheric Aerosol Processing Algorithms

Scattering ratios R processed from the same raw data at 353 and 532 nm by different lidar groups agree within about 10 % for high and within about 4 % for low aerosol loading. In the main layer aerosol backscatter coefficients agree within about 30 % for high and within about 40 % for low aerosol loadingPublishedBerlin, Germany1.8. Osservazioni di geofisica ambientaleope

Sandwich holography for the diffusion process in a liquid solution

    No full text
The suitability of sandwich holography for measurement of the diffusion coefficient in transparent liquid mixtures is demonstrated. Studies concerning the NaCI-water diffusion system are presented

    Sandwich hologram for displacement derivative

    No full text
The suitability of sandwich holography for displacement derivative measurement is demonstrated. Holographic carrier fringes are produced by shearing one plate relative to the other in a sandwich pair. Some experimental results are presented

PRELIMINARY RESULTS FROM THE OZONE LIDAR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF L'AQUILA

    No full text
We describe the ozone lidar operated at the Department of Physics of the Università dell'Aquila. Preliminary ozone profiles obtained with the DIAL (Differential Absorption Lidar) technique are also reported and a comparison is made with ECC (Electro Chemical Cell) sonde data obtained at the FISBAT, CNR in Bologna. Although this comparison is of limited value the two set of data show a good agreement. The influence on these measurements of the recent detected volcanic aerosols from the eruption of Pinatubo are also discussed.INGPublished651-6541.8. Esa-LITE Comparing University of L' Aquila aerosol lidar measurements with LITE data

During the NASA Lidar In-Space Technology Experiment (LITE) on the Space Shuttle in September 1994, the lidar Station of University of L' Aquila (SLAQ) was able to collect data in connection with two overpasses of LITE on September 11, 1994. We present these results within the stratospheric sounding activities of the SLAQ lidar systems.ESAPublishedIROE-CNR, Firenze, Italy1.8. Osservazioni di geofisica ambientaleope

Misure lidar di ozono ed aerosols stratosferici dopo l'eruzione del vulcano Pinatubo

    No full text
The LIDAr station in L'Aquila: setup for the european polar campaign

    No full text
A progress report of Ozone Lidar Station in L'Aquila (SLAQ) is presented. We extensively describe the experimental system and the recent upgrading; details about inversion of data are also given. We show some preliminary ozone profiles which have been obtained at SLAQ and these measurements are discussed within the algorithm validation. In conclusion the data validation for the use in trajectory data analysis is also discussed.PublishedPorano1.8. Osservazioni di geofisica ambientaleope
