Las producciones de texto en contextos fronterizos de acuerdo al carácter urbano/ rural de la escuela: un estudio de caso múltiple

This work presents the results of an investigation carried out in 2018 which objective was to analyze the differences in written productions between monolingual and bilingual children in different contexts. The universe of study includes 57 fourth graders from four schools in the northeast region of Uruguay. The techniques used included, on the one hand, standardized questionnaires for mothers and children to find out the linguistic varieties having been used by both, the sex of the child, the age of the mother and the household socioeconomic status. On the other hand, children’s written productions were analyzed through the dimensions considered by UMRE (Educational Outcomes Measurement Unit) in 1998. The texts reflected linguistic varieties different from Spanish in the text,. Besides, significant differences were found both between written productions made by both users and non-users of portuñol as well as regarding between border and non-border schools. Likewise, the dissimilarities as for between urban and rural schools were not substantial.Este trabajo presenta resultados de una investigación llevada adelante en 2018 cuyo objetivo fue analizar las diferencias en las producciones escritas entre niños monolingües y bilingües en distintos contextos. El universo de estudio comprende 57 niños de cuarto grado de cuatro escuelas de la región Noreste del Uruguay. Las técnicas utilizadas incluyeron, por un lado, cuestionarios estandarizados a madres y niños para conocer las variedades lingüísticas utilizadas por ambos, el sexo del niño, la edad de la madre y el nivel socioeconómico del hogar. Por otro lado, se analizaron las producciones escritas de los niños en las dimensiones consideradas por UMRE (Unidad de Medición de Resultados Educativos) en 1998. Se encontró presencia de variedades lingüísticas distintas al español en los textos, además de diferencias significativas entre producciones escritas de usuarios y no usuarios de portuñol, como también en lo que respecta a escuelas fronterizas y no fronterizas. Asimismo, las disimilitudes en cuanto a escuelas urbanas y rurales no resultaron significativas.&nbsp
